S/V Quetzal - Summer Cruise to New England?

- As part of the never ending process of upgrading S/V Quetzal we replace an old fixed furler with a new top down furler and a new code zero. In hopes of making an offshore passage to Block Island we cast off from Herring Bay and test out the new sail as we make our way down the Chesapeake Bay. We make a few stops along the way hoping to eventually catch a good weather window to sail offshore to New England.
Wow a 140 on the Code Zero. That's a lot of sail. I bet its fun to fly. We need something for downwind. We do not do well on that point of sail. I am thinking at minimum, I need to get a gennaker pole.
Love Urbanna and Something Different restaurant. Marshall's Pharmacy is an old family business with a lunch counter and great omelets. Lots of fun in Urbanna.

@@TheCorsair oh NOOO! I Sat at that counter to watch the Challengrr disaster when I heard of it on the car radio while m a making sales calls for Bristol-Myers, Squib. Just ate there before the Wuhan flu kicked in during the rainy 2019 Urbanna Oyster festival. Was my first night ever sleeping anchored out. Urbanna is full of memories.
You passed Knot Vanilla at the marina. They are another UA-cam channel. They seem like nice people.
I saw that after the fact. Didn’t get to meet them.

@@TheCorsair It is happening. Life intervened in 2020/2021 - going through a divorce (not the boat's fault), and a new job (gov't). But I have the Coosa ready for tabbing new bulkheads, all the fixtures cleaned, stripped, and ready for refinishing, and waiting on price of teak to come back down for caprails, coaming, and interior trim. I'm definitely working plan B - and knew I would going in to this!
