The reason why there's weird Euro languages for a bunch of cards that only seems to be game-related is because PAL games generally released with support for multiple languages, typically five (English, French, and Spanish almost always appeared, and then the other two tended to be a bit more random, but it's typically languages that can be easily rendered using a roman alphabet so that you don't have to program in additional characters). This is why you sometimes see PAL games listed as being "PAL5" or "MULTI5". Coincidentally, my sis and I have been working on a ground-up remake of YGO (which you can actually play on Duel Monsters Genesis) and the Labyrinth cards ended up becoming a whole-ass archetype in that. It's kind of a shame they were printed so early that the idea of archetypes hadn't really settled in, but they're a good proto-example in the actual game (although they're primarily joined aesthetically rather than mechanically).
Come on, guys. Those clearly have nothing to do with Valentines day. Obviously, I'm referring to something a bit more sexy. A studs only run. (He can do chicks only for my birthday.)

Zombies were my favorite as a kid... and thinking on it, I guess I still like them. Eldlich, Shiranui, and Ghosttricks are my main archetypes. Plus Evil Twin, which teeechnically has a zombie. :3
52:47 "I'm surprised that they haven't made a 'Labyrinth Wall' archetype." Trivia time! The retrain you presented, "Shadow Ghoul of the Labyrinth," IS actually part of a series of retrains that ties together the Paradox Brother's cards into a complete archetype. The "Labyrinth Wall" archetype, which is directly linked with the also slightly adjusted "Gate Guardian" archetype, and seeks to simulate the feel of the labyrinth duel. - "Shadow Ghoul of the Labyrinth" can be discarded to add a Labyrinth Wall to your hand, and banished from the graveyard to destroy an attacking monster if you control a Labyrinth Wall, imitating it's tactic of going for the kill from within the wall. - "Labyrinth Wall Shadow" is a field spell, fittingly enough, that prevents low level monsters from attacking when summoned, and destroys an opponent's monster with 1,600 or less ATK once per turn, emulating both the gameplay of low level monsters being forced to traverse the labyrinth before finding an opponent's monster to fight, as well as the Wall Shadow (a 1,600 ATK monster) going in for the stealth kill from within the wall. Lastly, it allows you to set on the the Gate Guardian pieces to your spell and trap zone, as the brothers did to prep for the summoning. - "Labyrinth Heavy Tank" also sets a Gate Guardian Piece, but destroys and opponent's monster when it does so, which I like to think is the tank unearthing a buried piece from beneath the labyrinth, while also accidentally running down a monster as it ascends above ground. Woops XD - "Prey of Jirai Gumo" is a continuous trap that special summons itself to the monster zone in the same column it was set in, then destroys an opponent's monster in that same column. Basically the closest you can get to how it was used in the anime. You can also banish it to search a Gate Guardian Piece. As for the Gate Guardian cards, they created new fusion monsters for each of the combinatoins: - Suijin + Kazejin = "Gate Guardian of Wind and Water" (Negates card effects) - Suijin + Sanga = "Gate Guardian of Thunder and Wind" (Searches support) - Sanga + Kazejin = "Gate Guardian of Thunder and Wind" (Reduces opponent's monsters to 0 ATK) - Suijin + Kazejin + Sanga = "Gate Gurdian's Combined" (Negates Card Effects, and Summons a "Gate Guardian" monster when defeated) There is also a retrained Riryoku that only works for GG monsters, but does come with a search effect as a bonus. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!! As the finale to this masterclass in "why not," we also got an official release of the cards "Dark Element" and "Dark Guardian," which were the two new cards the brothers busted out in season 1 of Yugioh GX in their duel against Jaden and Cyrus! And as you might expect, because these are modern release of cards older than most of the player base, they had to have their effects "updated" to make them even more over the top! Dark Guardian can be summoned by recycling the GG pieces after they are used, but now has a rule that says that it is basically effect-proof if you instead summon it with Dark Element, like in the show. Dark element pays half your life points to replace a GG monster with another one, plus a recycle on those GG pieces. Basically this is the modern version of the Labyrinth Duel. You get slowed down hard by all the nonsense in the maze, until you come across all the parts. And once this doomsday mech of elemental evil comes online, it's basically a nonstop boss rush. The deck overall is kind of mid, but for roleplay purposes, you feel like an absolute VILLAIN >)

It would be cool to see the Fiend type saved for next Halloween if you can stretch it out that long. I guess Spellcaster would work, too. Happy Late Halloween, thanks for the vid!
52:45 "I'm surprised they haven't made a Labyrinth archetype" They actually did! It released in Maze of Memories as part of the new Gate Guardian support. Shadow Ghoul in particular was retrained as "Shadow Ghoul of the Labyrinth", but there are also retrains of Labyrinth Wall, Labyrinth Tank, and Jirai Gumo in "Labyrinth Wall Shadow", "Labyrinth Heavy Tank", and "Prey of the Jirai Gumo", respectively.
great run! I would love to see how viable a full dragon deck would be. if it's easy, that means a nice smooth run. if its limited for cards, then it could be a pretty rough time.
Got an idea for a group of challenges: The Star Sign Challenge. Basically, each Creature you summon must have the challenge star sign as an option. But, it doesn't need to be summoned into it. An interesting challenge, don't you think?
Just a suggestion, but have you thought of branching out to character theme decks too? As in, look at the known used cards of characters from the anime it would be interesting to do a theme run for like Yugi, Joey, Pegasus, Mai, Kaiba and so on and then make a deck of one-ofs for each of their cards that also exists in FM and then fill the rest with whatever equip, magic and trap etc cards you like? Also loving the videos, you inspired me to emulate and beat the game myself this week, it was good fun!
@@Jon_Oh Good to hear, looking forward to seeing Exodia being used seriously, or a run with the secret "muscly, buff dudes" archetype (aka Joey's deck), or trying to beat the game with just 3 Harpy Ladies and one pet dragon, etc.
Anouther fun video! I love the little changes to the story you do for each run, keeps them entertaining instead of repetative. Love how you give trivia about the cards as well, I really appreciate the effort you put into each of these!
I take it 2ndary typings are considered zombies for the purpose of this run, considering you fused into Curse of Dragon during Jono 1, whose main typing is Dragon.
I treat secondary typings as fair game since the primary type is Zombie. Was 50-50 on curse of dragon inclusion but it technically came about due to zombies
This series is awesome and must take an ass ton of dedication, I can't even begin to IMAGINE the amount of time you put into this game, and how stressful it must be to start losing a game. But at the same time, at around 1:57 you say "After playing with ourselves repeatedly" and I am DYING WITH LAUGHTER-
52:47 There basically is, in two forms no less. Shadow Ghoul of the Labyrinth is one of many retrains of the Paradox Brother's cards which happened recently and all support each other. Labyrinth wall is now a field spell and Gate Guardian takes multiple forms as different fusion monsters depending on the pieces used. As for a more traditional "archetype", Labrynth is a relatively new archetype centered around traps and fiends. To everybody's confusion, it has nothing to do with any anime or older cards whatsoever. It's just a mansion full of well dressed demons. Anyways, Shadow Ghoul is also the ace monster of Rebecca Hawkins in the first season. Somebody definitely loves this card.
This is heaven to watch! I'm so glad to see more of this! Take as much time as you need to make more videos, you deserve it for how good the series is!

This game was a headache and spend hours grinding, especially if your starting deck had no dragons thunders and a black hole
man, you are the GOAT! just when im about to go to bed, perfect video to watch. much love, keep it up
Zombies were my favorite as a kid... and thinking on it, I guess I still like them. Eldlich, Shiranui, and Ghosttricks are my main archetypes. Plus Evil Twin, which teeechnically has a zombie. :3
Having played this game as a kid it amazes me to see you manage this. I barely beat it with THTD strats.
Dw i was the exact same! I only thought Twin head was the only way
I feel like beasts would be a fairly good run, but I also really wanna see fiends
52:47 "I'm surprised that they haven't made a 'Labyrinth Wall' archetype."
Trivia time!
Woops XD
- "Prey of Jirai Gumo" is a continuous trap that special summons itself to the monster zone in the same column it was set in, then destroys an opponent's monster in that same column. Basically the closest you can get to how it was used in the anime. You can also banish it to search a Gate Guardian Piece.
As for the Gate Guardian cards, they created new fusion monsters for each of the combinatoins:
- Suijin + Kazejin = "Gate Guardian of Wind and Water" (Negates card effects)
- Suijin + Sanga = "Gate Guardian of Thunder and Wind" (Searches support)
- Sanga + Kazejin = "Gate Guardian of Thunder and Wind" (Reduces opponent's monsters to 0 ATK)
- Suijin + Kazejin + Sanga = "Gate Gurdian's Combined" (Negates Card Effects, and Summons a "Gate Guardian" monster when defeated)
There is also a retrained Riryoku that only works for GG monsters, but does come with a search effect as a bonus.
I need to research this! I gotta have a mess around with that deck
4 in the morning on a monday mornig... guess I stay awake for another Jon-oh video treat.
Should get me in the right mood to go to work afterwards.
Thanks Jon-oh.
Love the Content and the humor
Edit:
Just finished the video. The Mrs. Nesbin joke made me laugh so hard and triggert so many childhood memories.
Again a solid video. Thanks
Enjoy! hope i don't screw up your body clock too much 😅
Same here for me lad 😂
Zombies? Oh, one of my favorite decks, something I keep coming back to over and over again. I think next deck being a machine or rock would be fun.
This is the type of series that I get excited to see pop up in my UA-cam feed. Loved the Halloween special story you came up with to keep things fresh, I hope to see more holiday specials in the future. Either way I can’t wait to see what’s next, keep up the great work.
Yay! Thank you!
29:10 “this card cannot be destroyed by card effects” would like to have a word.
This man is a legend.
Again, these edits and story. Absolutely amusing. lol
Glad you like them!
Let’s go! I’m starting to get addicted to this series! I have the game irl 🤘🏽
13:14 the word is "dyscalculic"
Let’s gooooo! Can’t wait to see how this one goes.
Another fun fact about the snake hair is she's called medusa's ghost in the ocg and according to the wiki it's also called snake hair, the sorceress.
Interesting to know! I skipped the obvious medusa trivia but i had no idea of its japanese name. Makes more sense!
It would be cool to see the Fiend type saved for next Halloween if you can stretch it out that long. I guess Spellcaster would work, too. Happy Late Halloween, thanks for the vid!
Nitemare Run next Halloween 😉
52:45 "I'm surprised they haven't made a Labyrinth archetype"
They actually did!
:😮
great run! I would love to see how viable a full dragon deck would be. if it's easy, that means a nice smooth run. if its limited for cards, then it could be a pretty rough time.
+1 to dragons :)
God I'm hooked on these. Helped me get back into these games too.
Welcome to my world! Never thought id replay this game so many times
Got an idea for a group of challenges: The Star Sign Challenge. Basically, each Creature you summon must have the challenge star sign as an option. But, it doesn't need to be summoned into it. An interesting challenge, don't you think?
The research needed for this one! Let me get through types first 😅
Throw in alphabetical challenge. I don't know how he will go about it, bit that's for Jon to figure out.
@@Jon_Oh If there is a wiki for the game, I could compile the star signs for you in the mean time.
I verbally said "YES!!" When i saw this. Thank you so much for what you do!
Definitely om my radar when the types are done!
@@Jon_Oh
Good to hear, looking forward to seeing Exodia being used seriously, or a run with the secret "muscly, buff dudes" archetype (aka Joey's deck), or trying to beat the game with just 3 Harpy Ladies and one pet dragon, etc.
Anouther fun video! I love the little changes to the story you do for each run, keeps them entertaining instead of repetative. Love how you give trivia about the cards as well, I really appreciate the effort you put into each of these!
Glad you like them! Hope i can keep up the plot 😅
can someone make a super cut of him making "dededed de de" when he wins a duel?
😅 1hour of that wouos drive people mental
Used to love The 13th Grave when I was younger for some reason
I take it 2ndary typings are considered zombies for the purpose of this run, considering you fused into Curse of Dragon during Jono 1, whose main typing is Dragon.
I treat secondary typings as fair game since the primary type is Zombie. Was 50-50 on curse of dragon inclusion but it technically came about due to zombies
@@Jon_Oh Completely fair in my opinion, honestly surprised it's counted as a dragon in the first place, given it's a literal skeleton.
This series is awesome and must take an ass ton of dedication, I can't even begin to IMAGINE the amount of time you put into this game, and how stressful it must be to start losing a game.
But at the same time, at around 1:57 you say "After playing with ourselves repeatedly" and I am DYING WITH LAUGHTER-
More losses = more insanity
More insanity = more wtf moments
And thank you! I will say that i think about this game more often than id like to 😅
Damn, and here I thought you'd do a Shadi deck for Halloween, because that would've been true horror. xD
🤣 i will at some point make one
@@Jon_Oh I can't wait to see that mess of a run. It can't be harder than ritual, right? ...right?
I love zombie decks. I love running them in duelists of the roses, one of the better types for that game.
He pronounces Halloween as hello Wayne
I gotta say, considering this was just coming off the Ritual-only run, it was very appropriate for the last monster destroyed to be Cosmo Queen.
Very fortunate on my end as i didnt get the chance to showcase her 3D battle
Dude you have to try an EXODIA DECK!!!
Please add that to the List of Decks PLZ!!!
post-game only
It is actually worse than rituals! I will do it... but much later
@@Jon_Oh yay
Awesome as always!
Winged-Beast time! Swoop in Harpie Lady!
This will make my morning at work much better and lordy the halloween costumes are really fun!
I have been out of the game so long i had no idea of this! Out if sheer principle i might need to make a gate guardian dek
This is heaven to watch! I'm so glad to see more of this! Take as much time as you need to make more videos, you deserve it for how good the series is!
Thank you so much!!
Zombies, how I love you so. You're my favourite archetype.
And poor Isis. Such an important and prominent deity doesn't deserve to be functionally erased to the point her name is taboo.
At least she got some pillow recognition 😅
