A lot of folks are citing Sonic 3 in the comments, but a lot of Lone's earlier work (like this track) bears a strong similarity of overall style and feel to the original Japanese soundtrack to Sonic CD.
well the prime influence is the phantasy star online OST, which is also from sega (and you can even hack your character to run about and play as sonic!) . it was the first sci-fi/cyberpunk work to fully articulate this 'going about in the future' sound that you hear perfected in music by lone, machine girl, etc.
@@jedwards1211 Nothing I'd say was quite 'homage' so much as 'feel' and 'mood' due to Lone's early composition and production style. If you haven't done so already, I'd say check out the tracks for the 'Past' versions of the levels "Quartz Quadrant", "Wacky Workbench", and "Metallic Madness" in Sonic CD. I think you'll pick up on what I'm attempting to elaborate quickly.
Lol I literally just played Sonic 3 and quickly came here to check it but see many people noticed before me haha it is practically identical and also Azealia Banks should soooo sample this
Its funny before I knew about the Sonic 3 thing, having been a fan of lone, I always thought his music sounded so similar to the sonic shuffle soundtrack
The neverending quest for good music brought me here. Stayed for the brilliant concept, will come back for the soaring ambition and the way this track makes me feel. it ain't that deep
Lone always gives me good vibes *-* !!!! I wish I knew where to download his stuff instead of coming to UA-cam whenever I want to jam. Anybody know where to find all his tracks for mp3?
Stephen Morganti It quickly adds up if we all support the arts. But so many people steal intellectual property that we need to again make the philosophical argument why a man should own the product of his mind and why those who listen over and over should be happy to support this idea.
To M. Intellectual Property, I read that yesterday: stpeter.im/writings/essays/publicdomain.html It's about creative people putting their creations in the public domain; and whether they "own" their creations at all. To OP, check SoulSeek, it has loads of music.
Yeah but it seems pretty obvious that Lone was intentionally imitating the Launch Base Zone music, the bass line, bass synth and percussion are strikingly similar
love this streets of rage ripoff! so cool that people could play games then rip off the music for cool Clone Songs like this one, which sounds like Streets of Rage. Thanks, SEGA and successful imitators!
I can't believe Lone produced most of the Nintendo video game music from my childhood
WHAT? HOW-
he didnt produce nintendo music, it just sounds similar
But sample is from Sega game duude.
Fuck I forgot how GOOD this song is. This is a masterpiece in every sense of the word, genius.
Wow, this sounds a lot like Launch Base Zone!😄🤩😎👌
Feels like its real house music. And oh yeah, definitely hearing the Launch Base influenced bass on this one!

I discovered Lone from banks. I like lone more, but she's got good taste.
@@NotLawBDO they worked together, she didn't steal anything
So masterfully done. Love the lead chord sounds, the drums and the bass. Excellent stuff right here!

Was there anything that was a clear homage to a specific track from Sonic CD? I'm not as familiar with it

He has admitted that he was inspired by Sonic 3 Launch Base riff (not melody) to do the one on Approaching Rainbow

Reminds me of Orbital and Derrick May invading one another's studios. Beautiful; the new Detroit sound of the M25.
Lone takes it back to the old school
I caught myself
Shoulder, hip dancing in the tv reflection.
Lovely tune makes me happy

Loving the TR727 sound
I know people are saying Sonic 3.. But I'm also thinking of a particular bit of SimCopter in that bassline.
