Hey Super I picked quantum slice , edenian force , and the move that stops zoning . Although I’m not sure if I should replace that with one of his krushing blow moves for more damage and combo potential.
@ Super just wondering would you accept 1 v 1 challenges . Kind of bored playing against the usual Scorpion , Noob , and Kung Lao players .
Man rains combo are so sick the two times I’m able to open up an opponent in a match.

Rain is really bad i don’t recommend especially not for a beginner
I was so happy to play rain and when they released I was insanely excited and I'm gonna try my hardest to play my best as him
Easy way to do his 2 4 2 string is to just glide your thumb across 2 4 without lifting it, then press 2 again into a special or finish the string. Once I've started gliding my thumb, the string came out WAY more frequently. I've been having so much fun playing with Rain.

6:20 I’m glad you commented on the 242 string because that is the string I struggle with the absolute most especially to get the grab at the end so I’m glad it isn’t just me who struggles with it, even knowing I gotta dial it in really quickly I still struggle with it.

Honestly either im gifted or i just have good input reaction time. I am good with rain after practicing a single day. Those who wanna master rain need decision/situation making, reaction time, timing, and a pianists fingers (knowing the next inputs and doing them in time)
rain is ONE of the characters that require you have keen reaction time, and proper timing to use.
If you practice enough you’ll notice he actually easy to master. I got a hang of him on my second day playing him. Now I do decent combos and I play smart with him.

PSA at 13:43 you can end extended combos into fatal blow. You just have to end the combo with f2 > 1+2 > FB

8:54 Super you can special cancel your forward 2 it isn’t just a fatal blow. I like to do the forward 2 into his hydroplane move and if you don’t get a hit you hit down down to cancel, you can also special cancel into the tidal wave move to get a down hit, so remember it can be special canceled so don’t just think you can only do a fatal blow into it.

I've been using hydro boost amp for block pressure and it does a lot of chip damage. Also its safe

I usually just press 2 and then slide my thumb over 4 and 2 and it helps me consistently get the string

Do Geyser kick and do Bubble that all I want.
F3 is actually really good since it’s only -1 on block, if you D1 after it most people get caught since they think it is more minus.

14:00 if you end a combo with F2 1+3 then you can actually cancel that into FB even though it isn’t special cancellable
16:00 2 4 2 isn’t special cancellable on block, which is stupid but that’s just how it is.
242 is special cancellable you have to interrupt it on the second hit it’s wack but rain is crazy so the trade off isn’t too bad
You have to start the combo with back 2 2 or back 3 It works with forward 2 or stand 2 4 2. Also you get more damage with the double meter burn if you end it with back 3 4

Took took me like an hour and a half to do a Hydro boost amp into a jump Punch and into a combo. I just cannot mess with Hydro boost forget that shit
Edit - I think my game may have not been updated because I couldn’t get an online game going and when I loaded the game it said something about corrupted data but it went in and I had all of my customs… I hope so because I wanna be able to do that hydroboost so bad… It seemed broken
You can also get stand 1 after hydroblast in the corner (sonicfox has some nice combos)
As a Rain Main inwoukd say that besides MAYBE Hydro boost, I dont think any of his moves are a must have for every variation. Especially Geyser Palm, its a good move that you should run if you can but Rain has some pretty solid anti airs by himself and he can do standing 1 into Hydro boost or 1 3 into Geyser kick/weather ball to convert of his 7 frame punish. Hydro boost i think as long as you have Hydro Plane to keep him safe when needed then he'll be alright, Hydro Boost is extremely punishable on block against players who know how to deal with it.
And can you do a toturial on his yby/triangle circle triangle combo cause I have a brutality and can’t connect the gran at the end
I'm sure you've figured it out but I just got rain and found if I hit two then slide my thumb across the controller to hit the 4 then 2 it's LEAGUES easier and I don't ever miss it

Im not good at wavedashing. But any rain I ever play against is. Funny thing is they all just spam wavedashes back and forth without doing anything. Literally just movin around. I still get a W

Since you can’t use fatal blow mid combo you can do forward 2, 1+3 then fatal blow
Hydro boost is the good special move.
Super can you mark combos on screen for future? That would make it easier
Rain and Liu kang are my mains but I just Can’t seem to do much damage with rain or be in situations where I can do my combos

You should only play Rain when you can wave dash, if you don't do it he's basically useless. Played a dude who didn't do it and tried to pressure with unsafe staggers

I almost get all skin of rain that available i don’t have klassic skins one I only get one of klassic skins reward on tower time race against time.

You can only cancel the second hit of 2 4 2 on block, so you do the whole string and before the third hits animation starts you can special cancel it on block. Don’t know why but it’s very dumb

I feel like they tried to get too creative with him. Like maybe give him one variation that is like that, but why not give Rain something like that Jade variation that lets her do all those extra flashy combos on top of the ones she had to begin with?

What does everyone think of Edenian Force (the thing that makes you able to do some moves in the air)?
I honestly love that move .I’ve been using that along with quantum slice .
It’s pretty good because you can trick your opponents into thinking you’re retreating . You can also use quantum slice in the air ( horizontal ) sort of like how Kitana does . If you enhance it diagonally it can lead to combos like Scorpion’s teleport .
