Opening of Kariba Dam 17 May 1960

Sir Duncan (the Federal Prime Minister) with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother at the official opening of the Kariba Dam. Tuesday 17th May 1960. The opening was witnessed by a crowd of 3,000 onlookers as “one of the wonders of the world”, an “£80-million masterpiece of engineering skill”
