good video. explaining why you bring the propeller past TDC on the compression stroke of the number one cylinder first would be helpful. It fires the impulse coupling and allows you to get to the 25 BTDC timing of the magneto. otherwise you would be getting the light and buzzer on the one mag at around TDC. try it. its fun.

so using this type of box the lights come on when the points open??
Lycoming engines time by the timing mark on the front of the starter Bendix housing not the case split. Case split times on number three.

Checking the timing of the magnetos is pointless. It does nothing.
