As a Sikh, I must disagree... WE ARE ALL a blessing in this world. Even Sikh people make mistakes, but we MUST learn from those experiences. Very rare to see a Sikh guy FULLY devoting his life who is born in the western world, but they exist! Most Sikh folks that stray from the religion/culture to "try" to be American, Austrailian, European, etc... Most of them end up realizing that their natural culture AND religion actually carries A LOT of weight and then they put the time in and then life seems to seem a bit more easier/simple at the end of the day. NO Sikh is ordered to deny food or hospitality to ANYONE, no matter if they're homeless, struggling, an immigrant, a person down on their luck, or anything! It's OUR HONOR to serve you! That's how we see it! I'm not trying to say that India is perfect, I'm just saying that Punjab IS PERFECT!

They take your shoes before entering the temple and when you come back to take it, you will find that your damaged sole of the shoes have been stiched and repaired, and well polished. One day, I was in Rajeev Chowk, New Delhi, I had an interview there. It went bad. I was so sad and hungry. I had only 3000 rupees for whole month left. That's why I was walking instead of taking taxi or auto. Then I passed the and in the way, I came across a temple Bangla Shahib Gurdwara, I know that they serve free food. But I didn't know the timing or anything else. I hesitatingly went there. It was the first time when I experienced Sikhism. It is all about serving the society. I have also served their by making chapattis and I still miss those days in Delhi.
And around 50 percent of the volunteers serving there are hindus, so be it volunteering or just visiting the Gurudwara, there is no discrimination of any kind....

Just a fact, the UK has the largest Sikh community in Europe. There are several Gurudwaras all across the UK, including the Gurudwara Singh Sabha, in Southall one of the most visited ones. You can go to any of these and have experience of bowing to Guru Granth Sahib ji, followed by Langar.
Maybe you are not aware but every Sikh Gurudwara runs a langar where food is served to Everyone for free. Given the fact that UK has lot of Sikhs, there must a Gurudwara very near to you.

If a church serves you breakfast once a year, the pastor will be around with a bible sitting next to you, before you have your first bite of pancake...making you feel guilty you came there...but gurudwaras will never solicit you with any religious literature even if you go daily for free meals.
When will you visit India ? Remember that it will take you more than a lifetime to fully explore all that India has to offer. Each state is like a different country and has different food, culture, history, languages, traditions, festivals etc. Almost everyone falls in love with India once you accept its flaws viz crowd, noise etc. It is probably the only country in the world which has all kinds of landscapes and weather.
The hospitality of Indian people is unparalleled. Concept in India is to treat guests and visitors as God. So am sure if you visit, the experience will be great
Not only in golden temple, there are many places in India where free meals are provided in India. In most of the older temples in Southern part of India, they will provide meals as prasadam. Dharmasthala Sri Manjunatheshwara temple in Karnataka state alone is serving more than 60k meals per day since many decades.

There are gurudwaras in UK where we as a Sikh serves holy offerings served. It's mostly on Saturday and Sunday. You should visit there. Also, you should visit to Amritsar, Punjab.
Hi I like the video thanks for reaction on this video. I'm from London and we also have small sikh temple and in there they do serve free food (langar) and they also serve to homeless and whoever needs they do food stalls on few places in London
Hospitality is a huge part of the culture in India and Pakistan. You can get all kinds of goods and services for free. You’ll find cooks by the street making huge amounts of food just to give it all away. They never take anyone’s money.
Miss from Britain... Please react on the absolute amazing and super respectful deed done by your British ancestors in Jallianwala Bagh which is very near (approx 5 minutes walk) from the Golden Temple.
Sikhs call this place Sri Darbar Sahib(Golden Temple is a given fancy name). This is the most sacred place on planet for Sikhs. This kind of experience can be experience in any Gurdwara around the world.

Have a first hand experience by travelling to India 🇮🇳. Only then you can understand the essence of our country. And secondly, a little correction, THE COLOUR WAS NOT ORANGE, IT’S SAFFRON. The Indian tricolour has the same one. There are four colours in total : Saffron- The colour that is dedicated to the divine. The colour of sacrifice. White- The colour of purity of thought, heart and soul. Green - The colour of prosperity. Our country has huge farmlands and greens for our people to feed. Navy Blue (Wheel in the middle, Which we call it The Ashok Chakra)- The wheel is a symbol of your time which always rotates from good to bad and good again and we accept that. The Navy Blue is a Royal colour which every Indian heart is, in spite of all the atrocities you will find people smile and make you feel at home.

I born in an hindu family but i am an atheist. Still whenever I see the golden temple, my head bow with respect which it never does for any temple , mosque or Church .
One thing gurudwara or any other place of worship actually does is that it breaks a person's ego n reminds them there is more to the world than himself n that there is another higher power! It helps a person be truly modest n not think he is hetter than anyone else. I have seen n heard of billionaire sitting near the chappal stands n clean them voluntarily or wash vessels, cook serve n all. But a guridwara truly holds all these. Since some temples n mosques due to rituals, past experiences n rules of conduct may mot allow some people into their premises. Even churches may not hold daily free meals so i guess gurudwara really does it. And i think Guridwara might mean a teacher's door!
