Harken was a badass. Hell the whole reason he was the main character was because he was the biggest baddest mother around, and as is quited in the first game 'only Rhogar can defeat Rhogar'. His ferocity matched that of the monsters born from that crap lmao. All he's missing is some murdered family and he could go by the name Kratos.
Did you happen to use bows much when you played it? I'm really curious to see if we can actually make a viable bow/ archer build in this game, something that has been lacking in recent FROM games with pathetic damage scaling. I'd like to see bows treated with the respect of other ranged attacks like casting if you invest heavily into the stats and gear.
Yes you can, invest the proper point for any related stats, and your bow can be an NG+ class weapon, .. as a matter of fact, most players prefer range when it comes to NG++ (cause u know how u can get one shot really easily)
1st like and comment! 🎉 Great interview Kahlief as always. You always have some great questions and commentary. I'm looking forward to this game having played the OG on Xbox one.
I think the original Lords of the Fallen is a brilliant game, not at all "mid". This new one looks great, but in their attempts to correct the misguided complaints of the first game Hexworks has made this one even MORE like Souls --- and I love Souls, that's not a terrible thing to be. But in 2014 Souls purists claimed that Lords was completely unoriginal when, in fact, it is quite different and unique to From's games and formed the strong foundation that would become "The Surge" (to the chagrin of CI Games) --- an even better game than Lords and I don't think I'll ever play another Souls-like game (be that FromSoft or otherwise) that tops it.
I'm sure you'd be in the greater minority to think that the 1st "Lord's of The Fallen" was a brilliant game. Respectfully everyone has their opinions, but I'm sure the sales of the game have said otherwise. Which is also why this new team (if I'm not mistaken) decided to make a turn towards a more Souls-like game that arguably appears to play much better (from the showcases anyways) than the 1st game. I've always wanted a next gen Dark Souls game and I'm afraid Elden Ring was not it for me while it still was a great game in its own right, but this newer title looks great and I only hope it proves itself. If it does do well then I think this should put this new title on the map & as a new Souls-like competitor to help push more of these Souls-like games to be better & have higher standards/polish.
@@tobiasrex8052 I'm sure this new Lords will be a success and I'll love it when and if I play it on my low end PC. Next you'll say that "everybody's entitled to their opinion but if you're poor you have bigger things to worry about than games" --- well, I'll have you know I value my opinions over any perceived consensus (which get enforced by people who never even give something a shot but are just repeating what other parrots have repeated) and I also put no stake in how well a game or movie has sold. I love James Cameron's Avatar and I also love Way of Water. Before Way of Water came out people were like, "Nobody cares", and then when it became the third highest grossing movie of all time the nay-sayers still didn't change their tune. So sales schmales, that metric seems only to be used by trolls -- if something they dislike sells poorly it's evidence that it sucks, if it sells well that's just evidence that purchasers are stupid. So whatever with sales and consensus, I'll stick to keeping it real by repping my honest opinion as just as valuable as anybody else's; I'll definitely NOT bend to "but you need to only represent opinions that agree with how I perceive consensus and keep everything else to yourself" bs.
@charoleawood okay but you're comparing the 3rd highest grossing film to a game that has nowhere near that amount of fan base or support so I don't really see a valid comparison there. If You think it's as good as you believe it to be then more power to you buddy, but we're comparing its success to others like it such as the notable Dark Souls series and its many iterations. I played the 1st Lord's of the Fallen AFTER playing Dark Souls 1 back in the day so my opinion is skewed towards Dark Souls. I was thirsty for more RPG adventure similar to the souls series so when I found Lord's of The Fallen it felt really Clunky and unbearable so I dropped the title shortly after the 1st boss when it went free on PSN back in 2015 ish. Everyone has games they found endearing to them or have found a special place in many gamers hearts, but the 1st Lord's of the Fallen is getting a new coat of paint for a reason and it's to appeal to a wider audience through its improved combat mechanics, added undead realm, platforming parkour, etc because the 1st wasn't a hit success. This new game looks great and I hope it does super well because I'm in love with the art direction in this title and may even jump over to this franchise if it's as good as I'm hoping it turns out. I Always appreciate a good discussion amongst other gamers, and I do hope you don't take me throwing the 1st games income as me slandering the title since it was only for measuring it's success in the the ever growing pool of Souls-likes.
@@tobiasrex8052 I'm not comparing success at all --- clearly the first Lords game did well enough to warrant another go at the property, otherwise the name would be considered poison. I'm arguing that the first Lords deserves a lot more love than it gets, I do NOT believe that the world organizes itself in such a way that everything works out to the best possible outcome. @@charoleawood obviously popularity doesn't always dictate a great product, we have Activision Blizzard with Overwatch, Call Of Duty, Battlefield 2042, etc. And if I'm not mistaken another studio bought the name for Lord's of The Fallen and have been using it to make this new title while maintaining its initial lore from the 1st one.

All I have to say is, I CAN'T WAIT!! Well it ain't all i have to say😂 The 1st LOTF was a fail in my opinion! Where-as this game, even though story and law wise they are from the same family, they seem really distant cousin's. This game looks phenomenal in every way but, i do agree with sound and it sounding a little off to me! Can't put my finger on it but it does feel a little off! I just hope I feel that good combat with amazing feedback when it comes to sound! Cos i think the animations, they got them down! I hope it is a great take on the Souls-borne genre when exploring this unholy, Dark and beautifully sick world! When I have my controller in my hand, I hope the feedback is atleast as good or even better than a FromSoft ip. I just prey we can get new studios who can go toe to toe with FromSoft! Cos that would be good for me, and the gamers who love these games. Even with Lies Of P🤯 I hope we can finally have some other studios who can capture the magic FromSoft manage to capture with all their games.
Oh that sweet developer commentary, always a fun watch. Its like asmr 😂
Happy you dug it, I always want to give players that behind the scenes take directly from the devs themselves
I like seeing people genuinely excited about the games they make...It makes me super excited to play!
Camera lock on system is probably the worst i have experienced in a soulslike game..
Weird, I’m not having those issues.
