    PPFD went down with the UV on because PAR is a measurement between 400-700. Confirmed. Not to mention the constant current setpoint for the driver is the same regardless of how many strings of series LEDS are being driven. Doubt they made it more complicated than it had to be ;). What this implementation causes is the warmwhite/coolwhite/red board to dim slightly when the extra UV/FR board gets switched into circuit. The constant current mode driver regulates its output voltage to achieve the same commanded setpoint current as before (but now driving more LEDS, hence same energy divided amongst more emitters) . It is not uncommon especially in the "easily switchable spectrum" options out there.

    Have used and continue to use, can recommend as a worthwhile option.
    I had the sh1000 before this. I can tell you some things about the supplementary switch, if you leave it on too long in veg you will experience necrotic leaf spots that will have you thinking it's a P or Ca def then they will persist even after switched off. During flower if left on you may not catch the senescence fade. A little bit in the early veg and on into fulltime after stretch during PK boost then off again until being used intermittently for a day at a time towards the very end manages to provide and even shaped and terpene rich plant for a budget price.Would recommend.

      @@MinecraftMaster488 mine is 3’ X3’ and I’m harvesting 2 of 6 Indica plants that are wicked, thick, sticky buds. I wish I could post a pic. I had zero problems with these lights and I had them on 50%. I grew from seed and used Purple Cow Indicana soil. Nothing happened to the leaves at all.

      OMG thats exactly what happened to one of my plants, spots on leaves and i thought like you said it was Cal of P deficiency, so do you recommend On in early veg and flower then off till harvest?

    You can turn it off by the dimmer switch. Just turn it down until it clicks and engages the off switch.

    Thank you, this review was much needed. Due to the limited choices I have here in Saudi Arabia in terms of grow light. Though it is still needs to be shipped from US. The price is excellent. Very much appreciated review. Will inshaAllah (with Almighty God Willing) be ordering this light very soon.

    Think your first thought is right. Sup bar is fed from overall power.

    No one seems to be able to give a direct answer on how to use the supplement bar, with both the UV and IR being controlled by the same switch. I don't understand their logic in putting both on the same switch, but that seems to make them pretty useless. Can anyone shed any light on how they are supposed to be used.

    I'm seeing it for sale on eBay for about $85. Not too bad. But I would say it's for a quite small grow area. Perhaps at most 2'x2'. $85 / 4 sq ft = $21.25 per sqft of usable light.

      I agree 100 watts @2.24 efficacy in a 2x2 = 622 average PAR which is outstanding

    Be keen to see how the plants react to it. I ended up getting the SPIDER FARMER SF-600 LED but If I remember correctly that's for more leafy veg rather than flowering fruit/veg

    Awesome review thank you , there's not many reviews out there about Sayhon lights would be curious to see reviews on the other models Sh2000,SH4000 😎👍thanks again by the way they also came out with new Bar style lights KR series worth checking out also

    Probably using about 100 watts with the bar on or off. And with the bar off more of the energy is converted to a wavelength the device can detect. Would be interesting to see long term if on or off effected yields. Though they'd need to send you a second one for that.

    the power is shared between the two spectrums instead of being on a separate channel, UV should be able to be on a seperate timer or it gets a nope from me

      @@sayhonLEDgrow so why does the density drop. And UV is useless unless controlled properly and falls within the 360 to 380nm range. You're frying your plants for a gimmick

    • @sayhonLEDgrow
      @sayhonLEDgrow 2 роки тому +2

      @@mahoganymonocle Not. We're just adding extra UV/IR spectrum. This is good for plant bloom rate, as well as improving quality. For example CBD.We recommend only turning on the UV for 2-3 hours a day.😊

      if anything it would be for veg. Veg relies on more of the blue and red spec
