The grim reaper that refuses to take people soul, The princess(?) stole national treasure and ran away from home, The priestess comforting a lost souls which is somehow doing a better job than the reaper.
What's interesting is the guilds they were sorted into match the personality in the animations. Calliope defies the underworld and stands against her own to protect life rather than take it, She's in Jade Sword Goobus is sick of her mundane life in Atlantis and breaks out to explore the world outside, Scarlet Wand Ina comforts and keeps the company of lost souls and treasures their time together, Cerulean Cup Boss Wawa, a Phoenix, takes up work at her favorite Fast Food joint to help them pay off a debt and make them lotsa money, Amber Coin.
All of the character animations have not fully clicked with established lore so far. Pretty safe to say they're more "adaptation" for the sake of the EN-Reco plot than actual in-character events.
That's what I'm guessing. The ENreco lore video for Calli goes completely against her official lore video (the one that shows why she took a break from being a reaper and meeting Ame twice).
I kind of remember it was told that this was a bit on the side of "HoloAlt", meaning pretty much, :"It's going to be *this* way on *this* story, any semblance with past, present or future lore is not guaranteed/accidental"
Maybe it's like a multiverse thing. Like since they were transported to this alternate reality, maybe these are the memories of this universe's girls, whose bodies are currently inhabited by OUR girls. Kinda like Days of Future Past, but without the time travel. Just a thought.
Remember, in this lore, she's a rebel against a system under which, souls probably never reached the afterlife (they were consumed, supposedly necessary under natural order). Meanwhile, the mysterious Ancient Ones must have already known there was another way.
considering her lore started off as "the priestess of the Ancient Ones", I doubt most expected something like this I think most of us expected the Bad Ending Route kind of lore. Ancient Ones doesnt sound like something so nice
@deivitcosta3852 maybe we're only getting the first half of everyone's story. Maybe the souls she is guiding away are actually being consumed by AO and she doesnt know. Maybe Gura goes back to Atlantis at one point only to find it in ruins because the trident powered everything. Maybe Calli realizes that using emotions for food for the voidlings is permanently stealing said emotions from the humans.
@@ArgoDevilian Maybe. However, I'm going to be more conservative here. I believe something is happening, and it might have started some time ago. Hololive is primarily an entertainment company, and the type that prefers a more upbeat and colorful image. We all know how much they want to expand globally, even if some decisions don't please all the talents (like Aqua). But where am I going with this? Some characters have a slightly darker background, something that doesn't reflect Hololive's current image. So, I believe they want to change the story to make it happier and more uplifting, something that aligns with the company's image in the market.

I'm thinking they might be using this whole event to soft reset the lore for all of EN.
It's for roleplay. But for immersion just think of it as an alternate timeline. These don't have anything to do with the established backstory
