    I think the thing that frustrates me the most (as someone who struggles with a mental health disorder), it seems as if they are using a bad mental health day as an excuse for their actions/words. Trauma and mental illness does not relinquish them from responsibility in their relationships/communications with others. Instead, it means that they have to think about how accountability must fluctuate and how we can hold ourselves accountable in these situations. Also, their use of the words "bully" and "abuse" is really appalling. I feel like their use of this verbiage diminishes actual situations of abuse and bullying. And to go and try and get people banned because you don't like a playstyle and perk combinations is mad weird to me. Thank you for this video.

    An apology from Bob to D would've saved himself from all of the grief that he's had that started from his choice of words in EGC. An apology could still go far now. It's disappointing to see someone go such great lengths to avoid taking responsibility for their actions. Everything we do or say in real like our online is subject to the opinions of the public. We're always being watched or judged. Bob says D is harassing/ abusing him?? What about all of the countless EGC that we have seen Bob type to people? The things he has said are definitively harassment. I appreciate your take on this video because you're wanting to use this as a teaching moment not just to Bob but to others like him. Some people need to reflect on themselves before projecting their anger and insecurities on others just bc of the anonymity of the internet.

    My guy wasnt the first chase, didnt stun the blight once, wasnt hooked, was always in blights pov when he rushed nearby and vigo's journal does nothing in chase. Not a single thing in blight's build affected him in any way.

    As someone who was able to recognize what DbD was doing for my mental health and what I was as a person aswell as a streamer. I opted to step away from DBD because it was turning me into a person that I did not want to be. It took alot for me to realize this but it when I found myself acting similarly to this I was called out by both friends a chat. It helped me see what I was becoming and that is not the person I am or want to be. I realized that what I was saying was not acceptable. I started to do what Bob did and use my mental health but thankfully people called me on this and I was an adult, apologized and took the appropriate steps to better myself. I took a step away for over a year and it did wonders for me. Did my stream suffer a bit? Yes. But it's a price I am willing to pay to not be like this. As someone that has been harassed and bullied in chat for real, it angers me to no end to see this behavior. I hope he comes to his senses and takes a step away.

    Appreciate the coverage on this, there was a lot I didn't see apparently. D is a good dude and I'm glad the community sees that as well.

    players like "Bob" are what hurt the community of DBD and make the player base look bad cause they are the ones who tend to stand out the most unfortunately and just ruin the game experience for others with their attitude and behavior. Hopefully "Bob" and other players like them can learn from this and realize its not worth acting like this over a game especially if you are a content creator. Thank you for making an honest and informative video on this wispurLove

    Frustrates me how mental health is used, like for excuses. Mental health gotten better recognition from the past, but still need to be heard continuously. Mental health is unstable, overall wellness is unstable.

    Fantastic vid Justin. It's so important to remember that using specific words can be incredibly harmful. And also claiming to be changing when you turn on your own words and circle back to uneducated conclusions shows they haven't done the full work to reflect on this experience.

    As far as I'm concerned, DC on first down = you are the badguy of the round. The only time it's justified is against a cheater. You are saying "my time is worth more than the time of 4 other people who I have already agreed to play with by not dodging this queue" INCLUDING the killer's time.
    The only way to get over this attitude is to stop treating the other team in whatever game you play, whether it's DBD or Halo or whatever, as if they're your Actual Real Life Enemy; cuz they're not. At the end of the day you're fake opponents in an imaginary setting, but in actual reality you are all co-operating on the overall task of "having fun in a videogame".

    Survivor entitlement is a funny thing! Remember friends (and Bob), it’s just a video game.

    For starters, thank you so much for taking the time to not only make this video but to do the research. You are always one to look at all points of views. You are awesome friend.
    However, my boyfriend Bob (🤣) would like a edit to change the name from Bob to something else as he's offended (lol).

    I would also like to add that because of my mental health I took an extended period of time off streaming. He admitted that his mental health was bad that day. Then don't click the live button. Take a few days or however long it takes to get right. My stream took a missive hit because I did what was best for me but I'm better now. Your numbers can be built back up, your reputation is alot harder to do so.

    I love how you can cover these conflicts with so much compassion for the Bob's of the world. DBD is the most fun when you don't take it so seriously and I hope Bob can learn to have fun in game again

    I think there needs to be a lot of self reflection on his part - games and people can leave a bad taste in your mouth, but how you choose to act afterwards is 100% your own responsibility. I hope he takes this as a lesson and takes it seriously. Everyone has the room for growth, and he's being given the chance - I really hope he takes it.

    Honestly, people like "Bob" are why I held off on downloading DBD for so long -- I thought that type of behavior is what the community was like and I didn't want to be a part of it. I'm so glad to know that's not true at all! There's always going to be "sweaty" players in every game, that's just a part of gaming in general. I feel like D was trying to be creative and test out unique builds that people wouldn't expect, therefore making all the survivors have to think quick and play different than they usually would. Things like this keep the game "fresh" and continue to be fun.

    I really don't know what it is about holiday events that make survivors feel extra sensitive. It's something I've noticed in myself and other players, but I'm assuming its tied to the urgency of limited time items. But with that being said, there's no excuse for that type of behavior. Your feelings, your mental health are exactly that YOURS. Especially considering this is a game where there is no communication and no way for someone to know the other players' mental health.
    I've definitely been the survivor that's said some shitty stuff before, but I always make sure to apologize because my feelings and my frustrations are not a reason for me to be rude to others. I might not like everyone's playstyle but that's the beauty of this game, players can play the way they choose to

    “i KnOw A dEv AnD tHe SaId ItS nOt AlLoWeD”
    I’m sorry but that’s how I viewed that statement. This man need some reflection on life. The games not that deep. Sure sweaty players are annoying but at the end of the day it’s a game. I have my moments of frustration myself but no need for this type of reaction. Solid breakdown

    Using your mental health to excuse your actions and avoid proper apologies is not okay, you are ALWAYS responsible for anything you do or say. I think Bob has made this a far larger "situation" than it ever needed to be, and for no reason. They didn't even actually play against the build, and I can show him far, far sweatier killers and builds to face than that. I'd also like to see this "open email chain" cause bleedouts are definitely not holding the game hostage, it's sweaty sure, but the game WILL progress and end. I will say I thought it was in poor taste of those two to appear in chat like that, sure the 2nd was the trolly one, but the 1st had an agenda with the line of questioning. Please don't do stuff like that, people. You're not just representing yourself, but also the community you're coming from as a whole.

    I didn’t like how he threw around “harassment” like that. I don’t understand, I would love to go against a Blight Like D’s that is running a build like that. Also Bob needs to realize doesn’t matter if it’s an event or not, the killer player doesn’t own you nothing as survivor in this game. They paid for their game, and will play their game how they please or how they want. Also the devs won’t of said slugging for 4k is holding the game hostage, I don’t know who told him that, but that’s wrong. I hope this person learns from this, and I hope they understand it’s not personal the killer can play how they set fit for themselves. Thank you for calling this out Wispurx and stay amazing buddy!

    Okay. Here's my take on this. Bob wanted to spin this into his narrative trying to paint himself as the "victim" when he's not. He knew damn well before he went live that his mental health wasn't up to par. If that's the case, why go live? Take a day or two off streaming. I do it here and there. Besides the point, Bob is very in the wrong for all of this unnecessary drama in the first place.
    While I appreciate the fact that Bob did attempt to speak up, he never apologized. He did make a couple good points though. This doesn't go for just Bob though. It goes for anyone who acts out in similar ways as well. He's still trying to act like the victim though which bothers me a lot because it takes away from the real victims of harassment and abuse such as myself. People are so quick to play victim nowadays and it's truly disgusting.
    People need to be reminded that DBD is just a damn game that SHOULD NOT be taken seriously. People like Bob are the reason why this game is shitty in the first place. He needs to do a lot of self reflecting and calm down before pressing that live button.

    Mental health and/or having a bad day is not an excuse for running your mouth and being a jerk. If you've really got issues with your content being used in a video, then you can POLITELY ask for your content to not be used.
    It's a game, chill a bit. Recognize when you're getting into a bad spot and quietly bow out. OR just don't hit the button to go live. Your community will understand. Or they won't. That's on them.
    Maybe?

    Killers can play however they choose as can survivors, can't accept that? Then don't play. Bob seems to of had a bad day and took that out on the killer which just isn't fair. Bob needs to prioritise his mental health over his live streams which I'm sure 99% of his audience would agree with.

  • @panncakettv
    @panncakettv 2 роки тому +1

    Not sure why people think when someone DC's the killer has to automatically play nice and farm. If you choose to DC then that's on you go take a breather or whatever but don't sit around and wait for the opportunity to be rude because you were upset by perks that were put into the game to be used. These reaction videos are not made to upset people, if you get upset then that's a personal problem. But shitty behavior wins shitty prizes. Should his viewers have gone into his chat? If they legitimately came in to troll and harass then no, but at that point just ban them and move on.

  • @JG_Darhk
    @JG_Darhk 2 роки тому +1

    The levels of entitlement Bob displays here is so cringy...complaining about perks, map offerings, and throwing the word toxic around...projecting so much hatred and frustration all over a video game...then claiming to be targeted for harassment when they legit waited until after the game was over to trash talk and falsely trying to get D banned (which is literally projection)....the obsession with D being seen as the "The Good Guy" is quite telling as well...and definitely shows how much of a Victim mentality Bob has.....Then to claim that slugging is a form of holding the game hostage (which is 100% false because of the bleed out timer you mentioned) and how they claim to have talked to the devs and gotten several ppl banned gives me Elementary school playground vibes...big talk but hollow words meant to inflate ones ego and worth in the eyes of others
    Hopefully Bob and others like him uses this as a learning experience and breaks out of these habits
    Great video as always!! You absolute LEGEND

    Ah another case of Survivor Entitlement. Getting upset by Killers bringing certain perks. And then being toxic. Like why take it that far. Its just a game. He tried to drop every pallet he saw, and got out played. Thats it. D was better than him and he couldnt take it.

    I've been playing dbd for 2 years, and ive seen this silly behavior over and over again. What i dont understand is why behavior doesnt make any attempt to put out PSA's(in game) about what is reportable and what is not. Like as soon as you hit that report button, a big ass screen should come up that says "tunneling, camping, and slugging are not reportable. Builds that are frustrating to you are also not reportable and are a part of the dbd experience". I think they need to start Doing what overwatch does, and start policing the player conduct of thier community with Kindergarden like PSA's and tooltips about what is and isnt acceptable behavior. There shouldnt be an instance where anyone is able to say "i talked to developers in email and they told me this" He feels like he can say batshit stuff like that because they don't have the info plastered everywhere in the game.
