anything hardsurface rigging is an instant buy, it being most likely tied to two-handed prop management is a nice bonus too. Will this course go over how to create and setup a custom rig controller and layers too?

Looking forward to this! Also unrelated but will the 4.0 changes for bone groups to bone collections affect the bone layer addon that we use in the rigging course?
yes. It won't work anymore until they make layers retrocompatible in 4.x
4.0 will bring great tool but you may not use them in production yet, stick to 3.6x for your productions
