Hi. I'm from Detroit and I learned to be a house head from hanging with cuzins in Long Island the Bronx. Would come to visit just to go to Jersey to party. The first time i did we got off the train and people where on their way to work. Get back to Detroit family asked what i did and i would say got my house on what good fun🎶🎶🎶💃💃💃💃💃

Back in the 80’s when I was a young Marine stationed at Camp Lejuene, NC, me and my homeboyz used to drive back to Newark every few weeks just to go to the Zanzibar, Club America, and Club 88. I remember driving up listening to WBLS and KISS FM getting me hyped up for the night. I remember that hypnotic beat had me on the dance floor dripping wet… man… those were fun times. I visited many clubs as I traveled around in those days but nothing could compare. Not techno, not reggae, not go-go. House music was the best!
yeah, same here, they play go go in DC area but it doesn't make you move like house music does....you got that right....NO other music compares to house....and never will....

I remember bringing mixtapes back from home after leave and playing them in the day room on my boom box. We would have cats coming from 3 floors coming down to our day room. Like it was mini Zanzibar.

While in college we drove from CT to Newark, partied at Zanzibar for 3-4 hours and drove back.

Don’t tell my mom I used to stay at my best friends house and we would go to the Zanz in High School and they let us in. Lol I seen a lot of things in there but I have been a club head ever since. My step sister and I would go out every Thursday to Sunday. I’m in the South now and I listen to nothing but club in my car with it banging. If you can be still and listen to club then somethings wrong with you!
