Though our economy is big but if you see our population then you'll understand that our economy is too small to feed our public. That's why govt does not invest more money on manufacturing Tejas. But Pakistan is controlled by army which does not care about their own public. They take heavy tax from Pakistani citizens in the name of national security. That's why they can manufacture 24 J/F-17 per year. If you see there education and health budget are too small even smaller than defense budget.

HAL must focus on to develop the IMRH platform as early as possible, it'll boost up the "Make in India" initiatives in a new level also it's a very essential platform for 2 wings (army and airforce) of Indian military service, so be serious about it and try to develop it in an emergency basis and of course must include the private sectors as much as possible for a better result. I like your content and videos. However, I do not share your enthusiasm on defence production. We are very slow as compared to other countries. Even Turkey is miles ahead in Defence production. Incidentally, what is the status of LCH? It will be a miracle if HAL can deliver LCH in the next 10 years, by which time, their technology will be obsolete and we will see absurd names like MK 1, MK 1A, MK 2, and so on.... even our pilots will be confused whic version they are flying!

Manufacture requires the commitment and availability of ready money, some of which could be wasted due to design failures. It requires the possibility of large orders to leverage the economies of scale. We don't have this environment so manufacture is slow.
