I'd hands down, recommend this kit over the deck only edition of this tarot. The packaging is terrific, and the book (surprisingly) is enjoyable and really worth reading. Plus I think the cards are of better quality. For just a tiny little bit more money, it's worth the investment! ✨🕊️

I just finally received my 1st copy of the Gilded Tarot Royale Kit and WOW! I had obtained the original Gilded Tarot years ago, but honestly, it left me a little wonting. The quality of the printing wasn't nearly as good as the Royale version and with those ornate frames and gemstones around the pictures the images seemed smaller to me, as well as the length of the cards being shorter than a traditional Rider Waite Deck although still a full size deck, the images just didn't pop for me. And so I never did use them to read with. Then, a couple of years later I discovered the Gilded Royale. The only thing about the deck for which I was greatly disappointed is that a few years ago when I was 1st made aware of this deck on UA-cam, the reviewer pointed out that the deck has gold gilding. This is what impressed me the most. And I knew I had to have it. But it was too expensive in my quest as a collector of (fine) Tarot Decks. However, being a collector I knew that sooner or later I would find the right deck at the right time for the right price. And I did. I managed to capture the complete kit in like new condition for $17.00. I opened the box and low and behold I discovered to my complete dismay it isn't gilded. Because the original reviewer never mentioned that their was an ungilded royale deck it never occurred to me there was. We'll, all that being said, in every other way this deck exceeds all expectations. The images are bright, richly colorful and jump off the cards. If there was ever a deck that could be described as exciting, this is it. So even without the gilding I am delighted to have this deck in my collection (of over 200) and, in fact, I can see myself reading with this deck as one of my main decks. They really speak to me. This is such a gorgeous deck! My very first deck was the Easy Tarot which came with the Gilded Tarot by Ciro Marchetti. I really enjoyed this walk through.
I do own the standard gilded as well, and prefer it to this one. The card stock in this one is really bad quality. I have also made a video where I unpacked it , also in March as soon as I got it, and having both decks now I couldn't help notice the difference in the quality of the card stock. The cards are so fragile, and that does a great disservice to the beautiful, lush design. I wonder whether if one gets it from a different publisher the card stock is better. I almost felt like returning mine to Amazon, but then I did end up bonding with it. I just can't use it too regularly so it doesn't literally start falling apart on me. It's that bad. The standard gilded is awesome card quality, not too thick, not too thin, has a wonderful polished shine (which this one does not have) and shuffles like butter.
I bought this deck they are beautiful. but the card stock is really thin super thin. I was so surprised seeing this unboxing first look and seeing that the card stock was good. Is there any one else that thinks the card stock is super thin? I still love the deck it was only 20.00 Llewellyn
I love borderless... But I miss the original Ciro borders 🥺 Not only it were useful because of the the color code, but they actually enhanced the drawings. Does come with sturdy, durable, magnet closure, though, which I prefer, small size like the Marchetti Lenormand and Kipper (I know, the book is sacrificed, but if all Barbara Moore books come out similar, it's not the book that is important) or bigger ones like this one. If it's betting on the size of the book, it would be nice to have it in color, and more extense, personalized texts.
I didn't like gilded tarot royale some of the cards have been changed and i don't like the new magician,the lovers and many other court cards. Borderless indeed is stunning but i wanted all the first edition characters with added symbols so i ended up ordering The Easy tarot as in India the first edition is not available. The first edition has powerful major arcanas and court cards although the colors are bit muted but i like it that way only.
Where did you order your gilded tarot Royal from. I’m hearing mixed reviews depending on the publisher and where you order it through. Your deck looks great! Would love to order from the same source! ~Thank you

It's thin but I'm having no issues with it, and I read with this deck every night on my stream. If you're looking for super thick cards though you'll be disappointed.
It’s a symbol that isn’t specifically fascism. It was even used to decorate the US senate. It’s a symbol of that represents strength through unity. It’s was adopted by the fascists, but not just fascists.
I learned to read with these cards at 15 years old. My deck was lost forever... but I’m happy I’m getting the new addition for old time sakes.

They should have kept the names out of the Number ones like RWS, the cards are too gorgeous to have these stupid tags.

Is the card stock really bad, thin and flimsy? That's what I've heard. But I'm so in love with the art work.

I’m quite disappointed with the small size of the cards and how thin they are. Not the card quality I was expecting.
