You are incorrect that only the TRD has multi terrain select. My gas engine '21 XLE has it and the other gas engine AWD submodels have it exactly like the TRD. Only difference is that TRD has a control wheel and the other models have push buttons. TRD has a torque vectoring rear end and other models of RAV4 use the standard Toyota AWD system.
My apologies then Anthony! I looked at some other ravs and they didnt have the terrain select but they may have been base models or even 2wd. The Torque vectoring system does sound like a cool thing to have!
Buy a 4Runner if you like to drive up almost anything…buy a rav4 if you care about mpgs and drive long distances and want the adaptive full range cruise control.

We probably wont heavily modify it but we are installing a 1" lift. A long travel would be rad but the rav is very different from something like a 4runner. It would need to be long travel rear and front which would be interesting.
2 things I hate with all the new softroaders is that they are their own worst enemies. They need to first loose traction to figure out how to gain traction. Which really F's up the trails, which makes it harder for them to make it up the same trail the next time through. Rinse, repeat. The other thing is the lack of 4 low. As the trails get more and more F'd up, they have to pick up speed to make it through the more difficult sections. Which eventually F's up the vehicle.
Can’t disagree with you there, when you use 50/50 4wd with real gear reduction there is very little tire spin if you know how to drive.
Everyone is giving me crap about getting a Rav4 saying it’s a soccer mom car. I wanted the Rav4 xse hybrid due to gas saving but came across the trd off road more my style because I would like to go off-road not crazy and overlanding.
Just laugh at them as you drive by the gas station with their 10 mpg trucks. 5th gens aren’t your average soccer car
@@hilo9921 yah that is what i was thinking i get so much shit for liking the rav4 and wanting to get it. i honestly like it alot but for what i need it to do i dont know if the xse can do it. i dont want a super huge suv like the highlander but i do love the 4runner but that gas though isnt pretty in that or the tacoma..
The RAV4 is awesome, and it’s a great daily driver with great gas mileage, I could get a RAV4 most places a stock 4runner will go with the exception of some rock crawling instances and deep mud but the RAV4 is highly capable out of the box for most people.
Brah, I have a 21 lexus GX460 and some people call it a soccer mom mobile (though technically my wife does drive the kids to soccer practice in it 😆) it's a landcruiser prado and a beast. My point is you're always gonna have dumb people... the rav4 will last forever and has a very cabapeable awd system period. And it will last forever
What are you doing for front recovery points?my 21 rav4 trd has no place to hook up in front, trailer hitch in back works
We just put a OEM receiver hitch on the rear which now has a Rigd ultra swing.
Is it a flat towaable vehicle (all 4 wheels on the ground)
The Rav4 AWD is not able to be flat towed as far we know.
No wheels can be on the ground while towing

The MSRP on this Rav was 35k, pretty steep for a RAV4 but it does have all the goodies!
