learned a lot more about advance turbine powered helicopters. even if this chopper is priced in $$$ it's worth every penny for the convenience of commuting quicker, without traffic and even without roads. one of the best helicopter videos. thanks igor sikorsky for the invention of a practical flying machine.

Hello Erik, this is the most greatest and symathetic video ever come across in terms of explanation of technical details and functionality of helicopter technology. It really helped a lot (want to give it a try with a flight licence for this type of helicopter or the barely smaller EC 120. Maybe 1 to 2 years time frame from now. Great video. Keep on the good work, You are a good guy. Alexander Kaden, 08340 Schwarzenberg, Germany

Very hands on and educational, and I enjoyed every second of this video. I've always wondered what a helicopter looked like under the hood and how the rotors operated mechanically. I'm so glad this video shows you the inner workings of the helicopter such as the engine, transmission, the hydraulics, the rotor blades, the tail rotor's fenestron, as well as some of the insides of the cockpit.
Beautiful machine, and an amazing piece of mechanical craftsmanship, refinement and overall engineering. The Eurocopter/Airbus EC130 Eco-Star is a great machine, and it's no wonder that it's become so popular in the tourism industry.
Thanks for sharing this video, I learned a lot and have a better appreciation for the EC130. I've flown in EC130 a few times, and I can't wait for my next flight in the EC130. :)

Why keep the oil “low” as opposed to “perfect” in the middle? Just spoon in a few ML of oil mate.

Awesome video. Do those blades fold back like the 350?
If so, how long does it take and is it done often.
I always wanted to see it done yet can't find a video of it.
    Again, great video

Excellent aviation video. It would have been nice to be plugged into the comm during flight, which would have allowed Brent to continue his descriptive dialog during the flight. Thanks!

Boy I wish I could have. I didn’t have the money at the time for a comm chord to be able to plug in but Brent was still super enough to take me up in it to document it as crudely as I was able to at the time. I now have three comm chords but it takes a while to acquire all this gear.

Is it not usual for the Aircraft Commander to fly the right seat in choppers? Any particular reason why this bird has been set up for single pilot in left seat. Is it just the pilots preference or some particular operating procedure.

What's the lifetime of a helicopter? How many hours of maintenance do you have to put in per flying hour? You said the blades were a "lifetime"item by lasting 20000 hours. Does that mean let's say you could fly it 4h daily and 250 days a year that it would work for 20 years? Sorry I have no clue... - never thought about what usage profile a helicopter would have to have.

20,000 hours means 20,000 flight hours on the M/R blades.
