That Chic-fil-A is just nutz in Cranberry. I hate going thru the round a bout at lunchtime....
Thank you Mike, loved todays video!
Yep in the same boat.... my molar started to hurt 2 weeks ago. Bad. Got amoxicillin and pain went away. Getting a root canal today. Same as yours left lower back. Thank goodness for the quality of dental care we have in the good ole USA
Oh WOW I just realized this vid is 45 minutes! plus 10 to you Mike!
Hi Mike,
Been watching your channel on and off for a year now. I got 80 acres in the California foothills. Lots of work. Watching your videos always motivates me to go out and work even when I’m not feeling it.
Keep up the great work!
Mike and to all your followers, If you have an infected or abscess tooth, use and apply Frankincense Oil to the tooth and gum area. Now if you have a broken tooth easier to apply with Q-tip into the break or chip to get to the root. Use for 7-10 days apply as often as needed. Frankincense in a natural anesthetic and will kill the root of the tooth. I have done this and it works.
Can you imagine doing this 100 year ago with axe and horses. Strong farmers and settlers back then!!! Great video my friend.
My wife and I love your videos and content. We grew up in the country, and moved into the city. "Work" we want to retire soon, and are planning on moving back out in the country, within the next 8-10 years. I look very forward to that day, when we can do the same as you all. Thanks again for sharing your videos again. They always put a smile on our faces.
Sandlot was our childhood growing up! I can’t watch that movie without getting emotional! It makes my kids, who are adults, and my grand kids laugh like crazy, watching grandpa get all choked up! LMAO!
I love that fast motion!! But love watching whatever!! Stay cool!!
You are pretty dang good with that excavator. And the skid steer with the many attachments
Melissa driving the quad in the mud is a great time. Dirt washes off but it takes a while for the smiles to go away.
My wife and I bought 35 acres of raw land here in North Florida in December of 2017. It took us 3 1/2 years to get about an acre cleared where our home is now as well as build a driveway that is roughly 1/4 of a mile long. It was/is a lot of "work", but it's something that I enjoy doing. I call it my "therapy".
Crystal River here😊
I watch another homestead channel where they had a logging company come in and clear about 15 acres a couple years ago. They did give him credit for the logs and truckloads of pulp they took out, but he paid them the difference. I think the material they took out covered a bit less than half the cost. It was amazing watching that huge equipment fell, skid, cut logs, shred trees into a enclosed semi trailer. It was quite an operation.
Nothing like seeing a buck in velvet especially if the sun hits them just right they look like they are glowing it's a beautiful site
This one was close to dark but it still looked good lol
More woods, clearing and firewood. I love it! Cleaning those trees out sure was faster than the old days of the skidding winch. Not as fun to watch, just glad to see working in the woods!
Good morning Morgan's and Morgan fans.
Good Morning!
👋morning
Good morning
Good morning
Just love the guitar 🎸 pickin' music you have on while clearing your future meadow site !! Who's it by, Mike ?
LOOKS GREAT!!!
Y’all’s conversation today was interesting. I could not understand where Melissa said sure got the shirt. My wife would love one like that!
I'm with you Mike!!! I don't like mud either....
Shaping Up Nicely!! Nice Work!! And Yes I Loved The Birds Eye Veiw Drone Footage Adds A Whole Different Perspective!
Keep Smiling On!!
😄👍👊❤️
Well y’all got me again! I was about to get to work outside. Then here’s another Outdoors with the Morgan’s video. What I had to do can wait a bit, lol
Good morning from Upstate South Carolina. My oh my, that is a long video. Keep up the good work and the videos coming. Have another productive day.
A shoe is from the old film camera days. A cold shoe on a camera simply mounts an accessory. A hot shoe mounts the accessory and has electrical contacts that provide a signal to the accessory (e.g. flash) synchronized to the shutter. Love your videos. PaulL
I had exactly the same problem with a Kubota SVL 95-2S and a Kubota root grapple. If you get "lucky" a root/branch/stick will poke through between the tines just right and that hose doesn't stand a chance of surviving. That may be a design flaw or it might just be unavoidable. I cleared about 6 acres of dead avocado trees and stumps, but it took maybe a year. There is really no such thing as burning debris here in southern California. The next thing you know the whole county would be in flames. Grinders are the only way to go but they have their own grisly dangers. All I had was the skid steer but I was glad to have it. It is a lot harder to remove stumps without the excavator. I tried an excavator one time and while it is not super easy to learn how to use a skid steer effectively an excavator is whole other problem at a higher level of difficulty. What looks easy on screen actually requires a lot of skill and coordination because of how the geometry of the 3 parts of the digging arm interact. Each part is controlled separately and it is far from simple and I have to admire the skill shown here.
Good Lord, I can't get any work done as I'm addicted to watching you have so much fun!
Love the channel. First time I got here. I imagine I missed tons of stuff. I am 71 and love to work outside. Can't wait to see more. All the best to you and your new trucks. Lucky guy. I am sure you worked for it.
Yes i've had to agree with you about fall coming back quick after july Thank you for the video
What about Bob is crazy ,classic Bill Murray , Richard Dreyfus is fantastic! If only we could work that fast ,love time lapse!
Good Morning Morgan's. Does anyone else think that Mike trying to get the firewood poles maneuvered around the trees, reminds them of Archie trying to get a large stick into the house.
Mike, one of your best productions. The drone shot of the tree coming down was a nice touch. This was as much fun to watch as Saturday morning cartoons. You and Melissa could create a TV show. Axel is the baby and parents can put their hands in anything, right Melissa. Very nicely produced Mike!
I was thinking the same, very enjoyable…..
Yeah I had breakfast with them morgan
Good afternoon Hunter 👋😸 and family and friends 😸😺
I want to complement you on the quality of your video productions.
That opening overhead shot of the new building panning over to the new clearing area was superb.
For my "time," your video shots and production is some of the best out on UA-cam.
That leads me to my second thought concerning comments from people on forums ... and that's about the value of experience.
It seems that many people watch videos and conclude they have a better way of doing things.
Perhaps, from their desire to be helpful, they feel the need to offer advice even though they have strayed outside their lane of experience.
That inexperienced advice often leads to the repetition of mistakes made by others in the past ... and lessons learned the hard way.
We see a lot of that going on with public policy these days ... a failure to learn from what people have tried and failed at in the past.
I don't know if it's a kind of arrogance ... an unwillingness to accept the value of knowledge and lessons learned from those who have gone before, but I see an awful lot of damage done to society by implementation of previously tried and failed policies.
So if you want to know how to do something (clear 150 acres) and don't want to waste a lot of time, energy and money; seek out the advice of people who have experience doing it ... and avoid those with little real experience.
We had 1 1/2 acres to clear here in Texas. Some of the trees were 12 -14 inches in diameter as well as smaller stuff. A lot of folks get a dozer to do it. We got a large forestry mulcher. When you are done no debris to haul or burn. Just wood chips. All the much goes back into the soil in a few years. Some folks will say it is more expensive but that is debatable considering all the extra work that Mike went through with the excavator.
Hardwood? Different cat between hardwood and softwood.
The thing nobody accounts for when mulching is all the regrowth that will quickly take over the land without time consuming and expensive maintenance… you’ll be calling the mulching company over & over until you deal with all the roots left untouched by mulching..
Hi Morgan's ! I own a small 3 acre plot n the woods of Ohio with a small cabin. Several years ago I wanted to clear one acre for "pasture" compared to you, mine was easy. A couple trees, sticks, pinecones, brush and a lot of jagger bushes. It took a couple weeks because it was me, my spouse and a wheel barrow and ropes. We got it done and now it is a good grazing area for deer. BUT I was thinking about how much work you have had to put into clearing your dozens of trees. Imagine what our forefathers endured with a horse or mule, a.shovel, saw an ax and ropes....it is a miracle they were able to do that isn't it? I'm a 69 yr old woman and I just love watching your thought process when you work. It's a massive puzzle of which you put together the pieces. Love your channel.
It's a cold shoe (as opposed to a hot shoe) because it's not a powered connection. A hot shoe is like the mount for a flash...
As always, great video Mike...
:)
Many years ago, my friend Donna had 22 trees in her back yard. She wanted to get rid of 12 trees. The tree serviced wanted $1,200 per tree. I'm sure the price has gone up by now. It took them a week. It was a lot of work for them but big money too. Thanks for the videos.
beautiful job Mike ... also finish that course of antibiotics ... working on your teeth with a possible abscess is no joke
really bad things can happen ... looking forward to the cabin project ... ✌
Great video, looking forward to WV! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼
hi there forms are interesting , just like a lot of people that leave comments , some know whats going on and others think they know , best to all john
We are now seeing dedicated tiger cat mulching head 500 hp mulcher. Mulching everything including stumps to 6 inches below ground. Estimates of cost are around $300 per acre. Leave the mulch add lime and sow grass and in a years time cows are grazing on the new ground.
Good morning Morgans.
Good morning!
Awesome as always Mike !
Best you tube channel! Thanks for another great video. Love the clearing job you did!
Had to chuckle at the fade in when you were pumping the sprayer…reminded me a bit of a turkey call lol
Hi Mike, I enjoyed this vid. I noted before that I can watch machinery clearing and earthmoving because there is something quite satisfying and relaxing about it. It reminds me of when young having my land partly cleared, only a small acreage compared to yours. The dozer spent a few days and I did the rest with an old ferry tractor. I had no loader but the grader blade on the PTO worried the logs and stumps during the burn, till there was just a pile of ash. Regarding your tooth, you need to be aware of a condition called osteomyelitis. That is a bone infection which takes a good deal to heal and usually with complications. Please don’t let infections go untreated. That’s from a nurse who is now retired. I enjoy your family, vids, ethics so take care.
Mike, a cold shoe is a mount for a camera mic or flash that has no electrical contact with the camera. A hot shoe is one which has contacts that have contacts that can receive electrical signals (to signal a flash) or send data (sound from a mic or on/off switching from a shutter release) direct with the camera.
I’ve been looking for one to mount a mic to my camera. Thanks for the heads up on where to find them.
Today’s video is exactly why OWTM is my favorite uTube channel. Excellent work Mike! Melissa is your right arm too, I know you’re thankful to have her as your wife.
Mike, I'm guessing you were on "Orange Tractor Talks", or whatever the Kubota forum is called? I can understand your frustration (for lack of a better word) with the comments that you read about the guy wanting to clear his 150 acres. I encourage you to snoop around and spend some time on "My Tractor Forum". I've been on there for 15 years or so, and there are a lot of very knowledgeable people on it. I've never met any of them in person, but have talked with many of them privately, and it seems to me like most of the guys are "older", and they don't allow ANY political garbage, or sarcastic remarks etc. Very nice, and informed guys and pretty intelligent conversations. They've helped me with a lot of stuff for both of my tractors. Just a suggestion.
Hey Mike love your videos realy enjoy them
just a random thought tho on the shower house could you not just build a small walk way from back door that way not taking away any room in cabin
thanx for the entertainment i get with my morning coffee
Mike there is something therapeutic about watching you work! God bless! Stay safe.
I think your videos are the only ones I watch daily and I liked the longer format. Philosophy is spot on, keep on keepin on!
The meadow clearing is looking good!
Might be a great little area to put another cabin or guest house for Eva to live in after she finishes college.
I have a Craftsman utility blade cutter that I use a lot for cutting everything. All you have too do is change the blade, brand new cutter. After a while the “anvil” gets a groove cut in it and makes it not as efficient at cutting. I found replacements made by a guy with a three D printer, I bought four of them!
Mike you gotta put a food plot in for deer season. Plus your mini cabin would be perfect for it.
Good Morning!
First great video! We are in western Canada, north of North Dakota. Here, LP well buy your wood lot to make 4x8 chip boards.
We had a 75 acre lot that we sold to them, good size trees like yours. Been told by the loggers, what you get for the logs, you well invest about the same a D9 Cat cleaning up the stumps into a windrow. You then have the cost of disking the land and cleaning the roots.
Great video! A 'cold shoe' is a mount that does not power the attached device. A 'hot shoe' provides power to the device, typically from the camera's battery.
Start blinking because I'm ready for Fall. We caught a break today - hi of only 93! Back in the 100s for almost three week starting in a few days. Clearing looks great and can't wait to see the progress at the WV spread.
What About Bob is my family’s absolute favorite movie! Watched it countless times growing up and still to this day. “I’m sailing Dr. Marvin! I’m sailing!!” 😂
I sit here watching all of the great Maple roots get burned. Some of those would make great walking sticks. We don't have any good ones here in Florida.
We left mostly all of our 300 acres alone. We had a 1000 ft driveway cut in and a 100 ft side driveway for my 3 daughters cabins. All that cut, destumped and brush chipped to use throughout our property cost us $15000. It cost me another $12000 to level and stone the driveway with another company. It wasn’t cheap but it was well worth it and it looked awesome when completed.
Thanks Mr. Mike., you are amazing and the best!
I really enjoy your work!
I had a big Poplar down front on my lot that rootwadded in a wind storm. 20” dis or so. When I cut it off it did the same thing..... rootball flopped right back in the hole
GOOOOOD SATURDAY MORNING EVERYONE OUT THERE IN OWTM VIDEO LAND!!!…Mike thanks for your honesty. Youcould’ve never mentioned the oops 😬 broken fitting. But like Tom Hause yinz honesty is awesome. Project looks great. Hoping you can harvest or get pics of that huge 🦌.
Have a day
HELLOOOO Hunter 😊
Good morning Morgans and friends
🍩🍩🍩
Brothers
Good morning fellas. Keep cool down there.
😎👍
It was fun hanging out with ya Mike and Melissa.... " Now that's a fire " !! ... Dog Puke = one of the worsts things there is .. Great content as always !! ❤❤👍👍
What an absolutely great show this time, Mike, the extended time made my day, and what a lot of work you hot through, plenty more of this type of show please ❤
Looking good, Agree get over to the wv property before it's too late and get started..
Mike, my wife uses slightly wet newspaper dipped in ashes to clean the window on our slow combustion heater. It’s amazing looking back at your early years.
Thanks to the Morgan’s.👏
Nice job you wood have never known they were their.
Looks like a great location for a NEW HOME BUILD!!
You were talking about the time it takes to clear a forest with the modern tools you have, That makes you appreciate the old pioneers clearing old growth woods with an ax, maybe a saw, and horse. Some of the trees may have been several feet diameter. Great video.
Mike love your work videos you make it look easy. Your wife has a great smile you got to love her personality.
Good morning Mike , family and everyone here. Mike I've been watching your channel since May 2017 and really enjoy the content. The first video I watched was , #20 Must Have Tractor Attachment !!
I used that video and replicated that piece for my Kubota. Thanks for taking us along and all the effort....👍👍
Look at the space between rear door and right corner, support chimney with standoffs to insure you are outside the roof overhang, put chimney hole in wall above the height of top of door. Inside chimney goes up then 45 degrees toward wall hole depending on your location decision. What impact will the shower building have on the side window view, if impacted, consider putting door and hall to shower there. Just some brainstorming, recommend you don’t put holes in the roof. Good luck.
I watched this whole thing waiting to watch you grade the lot and you spent 25 seconds on it and it was done? I appreciate the content. I love anything skid steer keep on digging.
I have to say thank you. I made a life changing decision this winter after Christmas I left my wife we had been together since high school we just built a beautiful new home and had a beautiful waterfront cottage lot from the out side looking in people probably thought we had it made but there was no love there the only thing keeping us together was our son there hadn't been a relationship for probably 8 to 10. The reason I say thank you is I was 45 and to young to live like that and getting to old not to start finding love I watched how much you two love being around each other. Well it was a truly Canadian love story this spring I started dating one of the single hockey moms her son played with my son last year. It wasn't easy I would start to message her and then delete it I did that for two weeks finely one night I hit send and I'm so happy I did I finally found my soul mate we like all the same things have the same hobbies love doing stuff together she is a bite younger than me but it works. Sometimes we need to see how to live life and be happy not just live. Please don't think you guys are the only reason I made that decision you were just one of my eye openers and it feels great to be able to hold hands in public or have a quick kiss and feel good about it and the beautiful woman beside me.
Lumnah acres in New Hampshirite has a lumber company clearing their property on UA-cam. I don’t know what the cost is but they are doing a great job. I watch all of their videos just like yours. I just like you guys. I also watch cob hill, and out of the woods. I am happy all of you are making money off of UA-cam.
Another great video Mike and enjoyed the longer format. Clearing looks great. Maybe a clover mix for the deer and turkey would be nice.
Noticed all the new music, nice.
Good morning Mike have an awesome day burning n cleaning up
Stump removal is sooooo gratifying!
I never had a inspector like that on any job. That grapple attachment on the excavator has been very handy. You couldn't load a truck with dirt, but you move alot with it.
Looks great Mike and Melissa, can you put up a zip line from the upper meadow down to the brick house meadow 😂😊. Just a thought. The meadow will look awesome all green after seeding! Stay safe and get the work done in W Va. Got to have a winter wonderland to relax and play. Fred.
Good morning Mike, great job on Your clearing project. So relaxing watching You operate Your big boy toys! Good luck on Your root canal repair. The skid steer is making quick work of building the Morgan Critter Hilton with those big stumps!
Something about being a Yinzer. I busted a back molar chewing on popcorn seeds in March of 2005. It hurt now and again for a few years, but had to have it taken out in July 2020.
Mike, well done. Your attention to detail is very evident in this video. Outstanding editing.........we just got home from our cabin, first thing I did was watch! Makes my day!
Good morning Mike & family!!
No Mike....."The problem is!" ...... It had to be Mike's Way.... Have fun! I've had many root canals.
If you ask me, you’ve got a pretty good record as far as break downs go Mike! Of course being a quality operator never hurts either!!
I helped a neighbor clear 4 acres of wooded land for a pasture. He was able to get a crawler excavator to take down the larger trees and remove the stumps, I bucked and hauled off the logs - still took nearly 4 months part time.
Mike, now that you took the antibiotics, don't forget to eat fermented veggies to get your gut health back. But for the future take Oil of Oregano to kill off infection. Just a drop or two under the tongue really works.
I'm going through the same thing you are I got a cracked tooth. I had a root canal done before and it failed and I had to get the tooth pulled.
Mike, with the variety of things you do on your property, I for one like the longer video formats. Thanks for sharing all you do.
Hi Mike, great channel you have going here. Just an idea, when your clearing that land, instead of felling trees with your chainsaw push them over with your excavator, obviously your limited to how big a tree by the size of your excavator but when you do that, you’ll fell the tree and rip the stump out at the same time. Sometimes if you dig in front of the tree on the excavator side that will be enough with a push a couple of meters up you’ll be surprised how big a tree you can get over. Keep up the great content
Mike: meadow is looking good !!!! Satisfying to see you "subdue it" !!!!
The area clean up looking good. You do great work with the equipment you have. Enjoy watching the channel and hope you guys continue on producing great videos to watch.
Hey Mike been there done that with an infected tooth its a pain, it'll get better, make sure you get a soil sample of your meadow so you don't waste seed and fertilizer plenty of food plotting videos out there a clover meadow would be awesome for your deer and turkeys, hey Melissa love Sandlot and What about Bob, love you guys
