Joaquín Rodrigo is considered one of the most prominent guitar composers in the classical guitar repertory. One piece in particular that he wrote, Junto al Generalife, demonstrates the style of Spanish guitar music very well. The title of this piece can be translated as "next to Generalife". The Generalife is a country home for the king of Granada. This was a place for the kings to vacation and relax. The Generalife features an extravagant array of gardens. Rodrigo really captivates this location in Junto al Generalife
The piece starts off in a slow, smooth singing style. The main motivic idea is the first five scale degrees of e minor. One major aspect of Spanish guitar music is the use of scales. Rodrigo develops this scalar motif starting in measure five and continues this melodic idea throughout the first section. Rodrigo incorporates the different tone colors of the guitar by using "dolce" and "metallico" to make the melodic content more interesting and contrasting. These colors of the guitar are very important to the classical guitarists for interpreting a melody. The next section of this piece also incorporates mostly scalar melodic content. Rodrigo uses "staccato","tenuto", and "pizzicato" to vary the melodic content.

Fantastic, simply the best world's guitarist with dozens of prizes and prestigious awards! Well deserved!!
EXCELLENT GUITARIST........WITH EXCELLENT MUSIC....!
Man, this guy is good! He plays intensely.
N man, he is not good, he 's excellent!!
He is just so so amazing!!
Simply out of this world...gorgeous, impeccable, confident playing, and that has to be the sweetest sounding guitar I've ever heard!
Alas, the 'sweet' sound owes much to the use of 'reverb' effect (not to mention 'gain' applied in the recording chain) - a cosmetic abused by too many guitarists. He is a superb performer who can dispense with such aids.
Michael Clayton It’s the natural reverb of the hall, to be honest. Pedants suck.
Michael C.
Man Please don't be a jealous and hater person please. Enjoy the music and this artist is actually with or without Reberb one of the best in the history of the instrument. If he let the video run with the Reberb is because he knows what he is doing with his videos.
A Great Musician!
I didn't know him. Love the way he plays and direct the music!

+Guitar Carlos You're welcome, and I'm glad they are useful.
Guitar Carlos щ
Does anyone know which arrangement he is playing?
89Redge This is pretty much the original version from Rodrigo, the only different thing is the triplets at the end but it´s a common change players make in this piece.
Who knows what's he guitar ?
All the information is in the description, he's playing in this video a Double top Boguslaw Teryks, Poland.
Does anybody know what guitar Marcin plays?
You can find all the info about this video in the description. At this moment he plays with a Philip Woodfield.
Thanks!
I found this video via the Delcamp classical guitar forum for sale section - and this guitar was said to be a Boguslaw Teryks, Dusseldorf, 2009. It is the most beautiful guitar I've ever heard and now my search is on to get one. The one for sale (and it's still for sale as of 08 Dec 2017), as shown in this video, is made with Brazilian rosewood and so can't be sold outside the EU due to CITES...sad.
So rushed
