    I love how some weeks ago you said you weren’t interested in typical landscapes anymore. Having unshackled yourself from the norms and rules of landscape photography, you are on a new trajectory of discovery. And now your landscapes are much fresher, with loads of room for growth in many different directions.

    Beautiful Kim! 👏😍 Love these kinds of ‘findings’. I’ve tried something similar in the past but not since having a mirror less camera and you’ve definitely inspired me to have another go, thank you. 👍 I spent a gorgeous misty pink morning on Friday trying and failing to get to a certain location and knew that if I’d just gone for a local walk, I’d have found some images and had a much better start to the day than merely finding road closures and running out of time!! Just getting out in magical nature is what’s important! 💚

    Would your "Bokeh Balls" pass the Kia and Lok "Bokeh Balls" test?🤣🤣
    For me a similar memorable moment is seeing or even capturing a summer's sunset backlighting a field of insects on the wing, or even airborne pollen. Its a rare magical fleeting moment to enjoy.
    From a selfish personal viewpoint, the "Backlit Images" of flowers with abstract dew and grasses are some of your best images this year.
    Can't wait to see what you get up to, with the autumnal early morning mists which are popping up at the moment. I've seen a few ethereal landscapes while driving back to station at the end of my night shifts this month.

    I watch several UA-cam photography channels and am often inspired by various "discoveries" made by the host. Even when I've shot photos in similar settings. But what I really enjoy is the enthusiasm some people share, from the simplest things. You and Henry Turner are my favorites! I've always had an interest in photography as a hobby. Since I've recently retired, I've been able to spend lots more time at it. What you often say about there being opportunities all around you, wherever you live, is so true. Just a few days ago, a moth landed near me on the deck where I was sitting. Oddly, he just sat there so I went into the house to get my camera and my new 90mm macro lens to see if I could get a shot. Remarkably, he just sat there while I took several photos. When I decided I had enough, he flew away. The rewards of photography are so great. Keep up the good work and keep making inspiring videos. Thanks, Kim.

  • @VlasovaEvgeniyaJennyRainbowART

    Beautifully seen and executed! It's a truly priceless photographic conditions! Could I ask you a technical question of the photos? Why f/9 was your choice for closeups, not a wide aperturture, which usually using for dreamy feel and faster shoot to avoide shake, any benefits with f9?

    • @kimgrantphotography
      @kimgrantphotography  Рік тому

      Thank you! Honest answer - settings are the last thing I consider when I'm creating images. I simply play around with them and see how the images turn out. In this case though, the grasses and dew drops worked best at f9 as I was able to get a good mix of them in focus and out of focus. When I tried a smaller f stop, there was very little of the image in focus and the effect wasn't as good. I've learnt over the years that there's many ways to create an image.

    Such a simple and innocuous subject, is turned into an exciting and interesting point of view, not often, if ever, considered. great inspiration for those struggling to think of something to photograph, that is easily available to most really, and of any ability. Thanks again Kim, it wasn't what I was expecting, I didn't know what to expect really, but what a slant on what to take photographs of, your excitement was evident, and rightly so - this will do a lot, for a lot of people. But such a simple subject matter, and great photos turn out of it. Roll on next Sunday.
