As a child in the 80s, I had a "winter white" furry good with knitted scarf attached. As a 9 year old, I felt like a baby wearing it, because it felt like a baby bonnet to me....but it was warm, so I wore it. 😂 As a woman in my 40s now, I have been think about recreating a version of that, but hand knit, so your video is timely for me!

Something I love about this channel, is that while I have a different taste i style, the enthusiasm and craft-nerdiness has me hooked right from the start of a project! ❤

I absolutely love that you just went with it on the scarf. You used what you had and made it a feature. So many creators get stuck on perfection that it makes crafting inaccessible for people that can’t start.

The "happy accident" looks great! Chic and soft. It looks intentional, but the secret (well... you and your viewers) knowledge that you course corrected and solved a problem in the most stylish way is an added pleasure. As for the length, I really think most scarves are too long, but if they're shorter they're hard to keep on, so hopefully this solves both problems for you if you have them! Especially for a transitional scarf, this looks the perfect size.
Also the jackets are 🔥! Thanks for sharing those.

I hope your doctor has considered Mast Cell Activation Disorder. It is a fairly common condition that causes frequent hives, many allergies, and allergic symptoms in the absence of contact with an allergen. Treatments options are numerous!

Love the hood and scarf! I’ve often thought about knitting one for my niece. I think she’d love it.
Re the hives issues - nightmare. I’ve had a lot of issues since I had covid and I started having issues some years ago following a SPECTACULAR reaction to tomatoes of all things. Evidently it was an indication I had a degree of histamine intolerance which, unfortunately, turned into Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and I finally recently got the right med combination and I’m so much better. MCAS affects a lot of systems in my body including skin so I totally empathise

I was looking for a comment about MCAS as this is immediately what came to mind. Definitely worth discussing with a doc if you're having frequent hives, a 'delicate stomach', heat/cold intolerance, or a bunch of other symptoms actually. Treatment with daily antihistamine has been super helpful for me personally!

@ 100% - I’m now on a mast cell modulator, ketotifen and 2-3 different antihistamines a day. My GP is thinking of putting me back on cyclizine as well due to its properties.

I can’t believe I didn’t already have that scarecrow vest in my Ravelry favorites. It’s right up my alley. Thanks for sharing it!
That hooded scarf came out so cute. I think you’re right, the color change is a happy accident!

I love how the hood turned out. You'll get tons of use out of it. And the bomber jacket is one I've been looking at. I had to smile when I saw it because I've got it waiting on Etsy for me to get the pattern.

I also frequently say that I'm allergic to life, so it's funny to hear someone else say it, even if I don't want any of us to be allergic to life! I enjoyed watching this hood scarf come together, the end result is so cute and cozy!

Fun! I think adding the different yarns to the scarf as you went made it look like it's deliberately designed to look like two pieces (a scarf and a hood) and it still looks good as one thing, if that makes sense.

Great projects!! Love the fair isle jumper and vest and beret. Maybe someday. I've only made a colorwork stocking cap in the round, so there's no colorwork on the pearl side. Maybe in the future. ❤

You've inspired me (again)! I've got three or four balls of fairly toothy alpaca yarn and have been struggling to decide what to make with them. It's far too itchy to wear against the skin, so I'm thinking a vest would be perfect!

I can’t imagine wanting it to get cold. I’m freezing! I loath autumn and winter, I despise being cold. I’m desperate for spring and summer to come back.( I just hope that this time the temperature actually warms up too. )

I never wear wool without something underneath it, unless it's accessories and even then it has to have silk added to it. In the UK, woollen garments are generally worn over things. I have EDS and extremely sensitive skin so I have complete sympathy for you.
