This is really fantastic!! I'm a big Gunsmoke fan!! Thank you for the video.....
Love your board big time!
@@garymack9734 Thank you!...and thank you for joining!
@@OhShaw Any idea when the board is going to be back up? I'm dying here without access to Gunsmoke!
@@lindamunson7135 Hey, LM, sorry about that, it should be up by noon (pacific) time/ 3PM eastern. :)
Always great to meet people who love Gunsmoke and James Arness as much as I do
true love for these genius's
💜
OMG....what great writing and acting!....Todays garbage on T.V. couldn't hold a candle to this brilliance....timeless period in television!
That's because the Television Code was stripped down to nothing a long time ago for the profit and expansion of cable TV. and now the internet.
@@thomastimlin1724 LoL You're on the wrong trail pard
Actually it was a very specific time in American culture/history. A time when due to their life experiences people had the right stuff.

I'm addicted to Gunsmoke and its 2021....🤣
Loved it! Especially the banter between Festus and ol' Doc.
Some great guest stars here - Warren Oats, Jim Davis, Ben Johnson, Victor French - hard to name an actor from the 1950's-1970's who didn't appear at least once.
John Anderson & Victor French had toles on Gunsmoke more frequently than any other actors.....
We keeping those actors actress alive. The best show on TV today is gunsmoke with Matt and kitty and all of them. Thank for your wonderful work. We keeping rallying
I love everything Gunsmoke.
What a great show...Gunsmoke was the best western ever. True love between Matt and Kitty!!!👍❤️❤️
I wanted to be miss kitty
Matt never hung his hat up at Kitty’s place!
@@mykelbaurle5758 That’s absolutely correct.
Matt only kissed a woman once during the history of Gunsmoke…and it wasn’t Kitty.
“A man makes his dying by the way he lives.” James Arness as U.S. Marshal Matt Dillon.
Never get tired if watching!👍🏽
What a cast...love them ALL!
I can't believe 5 people gave this gold a thumbs down. I feel sorry for them.
They have sad, lost souls. The solution is church and a lot more Gunsmoke.
My guess all under the age of 30....
Hmm...
Gunsmoke is the best! Oh Shaw you're the best too! Thanks for posting! I love these clips. This was the golden age of television.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you're enjoying them!
That was better than a bucket full of sunshine!
One of my favorite Festus lines "you make me so mad I could just smoke a pickle". My wife says that to me all the time now and she doesn't even watch the show with me. Lmao.
2024 and this classic is still on my tv 📺 screen. One of the best shows I've come across.
“Who’s been pushing your swing” lol. Classic
" I'll be after you like thunder after lightning." Festus Haggen
Best western series ever. Got all 20 seasons on DVD finally. Also have all 5 Gunsmoke movies. Thanks for the videos. Appreciate you. Merry Christmas.
Mike Pardue ✌
I also have all the DVDS and movies, as well as watching reruns on TV. There will never be anything like it again!!
@@TheMicloMachine Yep. You sure got that right. Merry Christmas to you and God bless.

Oh Shaw, your work is underappreciated and way more important than will ever be realized. Thank you.
Aww

It's one of my favourite shows. Those carachters still wander my dreams of the West.Thank you for doing this.
I very recently discovered these Gunsmoke funnies...they are great!👍🏽
I like the first scene where the preacher says all those fine things at a funeral about a deceased scoundrel. Chester asks, Is this the same guy I knew who was a essentially a lazy, shiftless moonstaker/thief (words to that effect). Matt Dillon says, "Chester that was while he was still alive." The writers for Gunsmoke were outstanding at their craft. Many of these shows were originally on radio programs. So the television show had much tried out material to work with from the radio shows. How often do we run into real life people in our ordinary world everyday who act almost exactly like these characters while watching Gunsmoke reruns? The one liners in these shows are great too.
I just saw that again yesterday and thought I'd fall off my chair laughing!
I know a lady who after hearing the words of a priest at graveside was fit to be tied. "God bless and forgive Father Meza for all his kind words for Mendoza but he was lying up a storm even Moses couldn't tame. Mendoza was a drunken, mean, profane, womanizing, shiftless son of a bitch! If Father Meza lies like that at my funeral I may rise outta my casket and grab him by his scrawny throat." With that she took a good sip of her strong coffee.
the writing and Arness and Weaver delivery are all absolutely brilliant.
Absolutely, loved these various clips of Gunsmoke! They brought back alot of memories, plus some laughs and smiles. Also, enjoyed your first show, as well. 🐎
Thanks for the laughs. I forget sometimes how many great lines were in this show.
You betcha. The writers were quite clever when inserting humor! p.s you are good to go on the forum, I apologize for the delay.
Terrific job putting this video together!! Thank you so much for giving me and my tired soul something to giggle at.
Love Gunsmoke ! My Mom's Uncle is in over 50 episodes from 1955-1967 . No speaking parts just a Bar-fly , cowboy. townsperson etc. :-)
@@brianfischer149 WOW!....That's so awesome....extras make a show!
Sue, somebody out here cares and understands. from a great grandmother in Montana.
Louie Pheeters (James Nusser) was the most responsible drunk on tv.
He was a hidden gem.
Matt to Doc: "Thanks for the wet drunk."
Always will watch it as long as I live🤩😍🤟🏼
Me too!
Same here, every day
You did it again Oh Shaw! Just fabulous clips. Thanks so much.💕
Oh shaw, I love watching these clips
Love! Watched it twice already. Great lines. Now to go find those episodes. The hunt is on!
I know you're up to the challenge, but if you get tired of searching, just let me know. :D
@@OhShaw pluto tv has a gunsmoke channel where you can watch gunsmoke on your device or tv for free 24/7.
@@jgunther3398 Pluto is great, but they only have Seasons 7-20, so are missing the entire glory years of the show, with the original cast...all those wonderful half hour B&W episodes.
The best show ever
Good stuff! One of the best shows ever!
oh how I LOVE that show!!!
Brilliant montage!
Glorious. Every cast member a winner
Kathleen Hite was a wonderful writer.
Yes, she sure was. One of the best.
Love this post! Thanks and keep them coming!
Thank you!
I really miss tv like this Gunsmoke was one of my favorites a young person could learn a lot about life watching these shows about how to treat and not treat people watching today it's all crap
1:47 You get me so mad I could just smoke a pickle. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh, Pshaw!!!
Thanks, Oh Shaw, once again you picked some great lines and scenes, and put them together into another great video! Looking forward to the next one! I'll be rewatching this one for a while though.
Best Christmas present ever! Thanks Oh Shaw
My pleasure :) Merry Christmas!
You do a great service to an old heart.
I love these.
A great show I never missed it
Great video! Excellent job!

Distraught kid: What about Pa?
Matt Dillon: You let me know when he comes to and I'll knock him out again!
David Mustard yeah that was original!.
Way to go Matt.
Oh Shaw! Great Video! It ain't polite to eat in front of an open bottle!
James arness has a family that is really proud of him and hope it showscope on and on
You can just watch these over and over. I'm 71 and grew up on GS. My mother grew up 23 mi north of DC in a little town calle

"It aint polite to eat in front of an open bottle" lol
What a BRILLIANT line!😅😂🤣
"You're dirt I wouldn't walk on." - Kitty, ep. "Miss Kitty", season 7. My favorite ever Kitty line.
Duly noted. I'll try to get it in the next compilation, thanks!
this is so funny. I guess that was the general idea. Thank you. so much.
Can't stop laughing. Had to put Gunsmoke on mute to watch this montage. Ha, ha, ha! I think I need a 12 step program. Nah, this kind of crazy keeps me sane, (thanks Waylon).
When I get home from work I put Gunsmoke on faster than a rat ran over the roof of the house with a piece of raw liver in his mouth!!
"The law I got on my side is that I'm big enough to get away with it" Honesty is a virtue and reality is a bitch
Oh Shaw, love the board!!!
Thank you! I appreciate that. :)
"You make me so made I can just smoke a pickle." Festus said Me "Time to get the pickles."
You have the best Gunsmoke Videos.
Thank you, I appreciate that.
Never a better show ever on TV
This amazing show has to get rebooted, so that it doesn't get forgotten and so that it can get a modern update.
Peddler to Louie: You're so cured you'll live a hundred years ;-D
I would like to see a compilation of scenes with Kitty and Festus. They had a great relationship.
Of all the favorite characters of mine in Gunsmoke one of the ones that was hardly ever mention was Louis he lasted so long on the show Gunsmoke and made so many different changes as his character changed. Yet the man who played Louie was I believe darn good actor who portrayed a drunk most of the time and he was so very endearing and compassionate caring person the character Louis. The man who portrayed him was excellent at it yet hardly hardly ever hear anything of him after this. It's so unfortunate
yes, he is good! the way he moves sometimes is really addled looking, like i can't blame him for drinking
A good video Thanks 👍
Much obliged for the great content.
Thank you, that's nice of you to say, I appreciate it.
@@OhShaw I’ve seen two of your favorite lines videos a while back. I keep coming back to see them haha. Happy New Year to you, get outta Dodge!

This was the greatest show ever...
Oh I wish I had downloaded the season 1 to 8 when it was downloaded on UA-cam. I love this great series!
Yes absolutely bring Gunsmoke back and make it into a movie at the theater I will be the first one in line to buy my ticket just find look alike actors gunsmoke is # 1 western in our home 🥰
They would screw it up like they did The Wild Wild West movie.
Wonderful, harmless timeless but strangely riveting television…..
Festus on writin' is THE best line in the whole series.
Myself, I'm partial to the understated and unexpected quips that were more prevalent in the B&W seasons.
Makes me wonder who ol' Festus was fighting with
how do they know the fellow who wrote written wrote the written right
Oh Shaw! I just put up several new photos of Dennis Weaver on my facebook page. I found 5 in an old computer, 3 that I forgot I even had.
THANK YOU! I can't wait to see them, what a nice surprise!
@@OhShaw If you need, let me know, and I will send them to your page. I also have more photos, of Geri's birthday party. Just family and friends.
CHARLIE'S GIRL
Just to say I agree with many other commenters - today's TV shows can't hold a candle to GUNSMOKE !
Gunsmoke, Bonanza and Cheyenne, three of the hottest westerns to be shown on tv in Puerto Rico.
BEN JOHNSON!
That was a treat!

This is GREAT!!!!!! I Love it thank you for posting these!
BTW: what episode is 3:00-06 from?
You bet, thanks, SB! That scene with Chester is from Last Fling (S02-E26)

Okay, I give up lol. Which episodes are 3:43, 4:27, 5:14, 5:38, and 5:56? Great video! It's easy to forget how witty the writing was.
Thank you so much, CC, it's good to hear from you. I agree the writing is pretty special. The episodes you asked about are: 3:43 Quint's Trail (S9), 4:27 O'Quillian (S14), 5:14 Liar from Blackhawk (S2), 5:38 The Worm (S6), and 5:56 also Liar from Blackhawk (S2).

Oh my gosh! Funny funny stuff.
😕 kid: what about Paul? Matt: if he comes to i'll knock him out again! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This show never gets old!! Gotta love the banter between Doc and Festus!!
At 6:07 (the part with Sam and Festus) what episode is this??
That scene is from "Wishbone" (season 11).
08:27 is classic
Chester is funny but festus is the best.found gunsmoke to be best western on tv better than bonanza.cast was great.even louie was great.
This is bull feathers! The part chester said a man who don't work is bound to get into trouble somehow then they cut it off! Best part was the rest when Matt said " maybe I should throw you out of town" because chester was just sitting whittling. Lol
I cut it exactly where I wanted to cut it, because Matt's expression said more than enough. Think of the clips as samples, not entire meals. :)
