I was originally attracted to Wu style tai chi. Now I'm not picky about style. If I see someone good I will learn from them. I just celebrated 20 years of silat and kali training. Tai chi changed the way I practice forever.
I've learned a great deal since I wrote this. I had just gotten out of a mental hospital for attempted suicide because i can't walk. I haven't been able to for over six years. I live in assisted living. I live with demented people who can't remember which room is theirs and don't want to change the pants they urinated in. I sometimes feel ready to give myself entirely to tai chi. I can easily turn my movements into tai chi. I'm not bragging. It's the truth. I love to read my stash of T'ai Chi Magazine. I practiced soft martial arts so I can easily do tai chi. It just takes some slight modification. I hope that science one day gets me walking again. I used to live near a state park with hundreds of miles of trails through forest. I'm originally from concrete... Los Angeles! Enough about me! Let's hear about you!
Your comment is true. Fortunately for practitioners and future generations our mission is to preserve the performances of masters like Master Wang. Unlike the past their styles will not disappear, when they pass away.
"一動無一不動 - Once move, not one is not moving" means when you move every part of your body is moving, not a single part is not moving - a basic principle of Tai Chi. Please observe carefully and reconsider what you are believing in. Good luck.
Inhale and Exhale can be combined with Expand and Contract as well. You can Inhale and Contract, or Inhale and Expand, Exhale and Contract or Exhale and Expand. All these different breathes produce different feelings.
Thank you for uploading this videos with Master Wang demonstrating and your clear explaination. Very helpful.

What a shame he is gone, a true genius and Master of Wu Style Taiji!
It is a shame, but fortunately he will live on in a way with the immortality of video.
Good music intro!

+Геннадий Горелик Breathe when you need to breathe, Don't forget to breathe!
Generally speaking when you issue power you exhale and inhale when gathering energy.

Thank you for responding ( finally :))
Generally - I was taught - :
Contract- exhale
Expand - inhale (a balloon can NOT expand by letting out air)
Ah, but we aren't balloons!
