- Ancient bread is full of rich flavours that have been forgotten over the centuries. Our ancestors have made bread in a more simpler, more primal way with almost no tools. Now this recipe I developed for you is me trying to recreate that old experience, cherishing what has been forgotten.

If you like the video please consider dropping a comment. It helps with ze algorithm. Sank you 🤓. Edit: Don't forget to watch the secret scene 😎
This bread has been full of rich flavours. The Einkorn almost tastes a little bit nutty, very different than every flour that you find today. The extra charring from the pan adds really great dark flavours to the bread as well. You can of course also use your own stove at home to make it, no need for a bon fire 🤣
im not the bread youtuber, but i have a hunch this video might get an extra boost in views if you add ASMR to the title
I like that you are experimenting with new video styles. I definitely liked it. I do miss your corny German jokes and your awesome personality lol I also usually love your scientific approach your videos usually have. This was nice change of pace, very relaxing. I love your content no matter what tho, and i am grateful to be apart of your journey in finding your own personal style. Keep up the great work 🙏🏾
People still make a similar bread where I live. Its called "bolo de sertã". Its usually made when people stay on weekend/holliday sheds with minimal kitchen supplies available. Some people do a 50/50 corn/wheat recipe while others do 100% corn. The cooking pan is traditionally made from clay, but when that is lacking cast iron is also used.
This new concept video kept 100% of my attention until the end... I really enjoyed how you focused on just sounds. Lovely and relaxing. Also, very good quality in general (audio & video). Congrats for the video and for that bread that looks delicious!
It's not really a new concept. It is done in the style of the Primitive Technology channel, hence the video name.
Wow, the lack of speech was a very refreshing contrast! I feel as if we've all been invited as guests to your home and could see the balcony and the house garden. Very cozy!
Loved the format! I was glued to my tv for every second!
Some other ways that einkorn could have been baked 5000 years ago would have been on the end of a stick, as well as on a flat rock. Dough can be braided in 2 strands around the end of a stick to help it stay secure. That makes me want to try it! Thanks Hendrik!
PUPPIES! Reminds me of my dear Bernese that I lost 10years ago...oh yeah and the video was AWESOME!
A bit quiet today - more like Almazan Kitchen style. Personally I like your talkative nature better, but I'd watch either format. You've improved my bread baking a lot over the years, so you'll always earn a thumbs up and an entire view for the algorithm.
Enjoyed watching the process from start to finish. Couldn’t take my eyes away!
Two good boys were a nice touch!
Wow, that editing was awesome. Good video, they of course were super tasty. Sometimes I do something similar but on frying pan
Beautiful video! love the filming
That's two very good dogs!
Love it. Will try it today! But more importantly, looove your dogs!! They are adorable. ❤
Looks really good. It reminds me of the flat bread I had for breakfast in Morocco with soft cheese, olive oil and honey.
OMG! I got my tingles back! 🍞
Everyone would desire a piece of this starter from your store. It would be easy to ship mail order rather than a big loaf of bread.
The video itself is a well made marketing video for the product. Everybody wins. I love it and the adorable dogs love it too.
I can not imagine how much time and effort our ancestors spent on gathering, hunting and preparing food. Cool video and absolutely love the dogs.
I think that's the first video that actually got some of the ASMR effect out of me.
Hendrix you are fun! 5,000 yrs ago cave cooking - not so sure how relaxing it was- more like pulverizing the seeds with rocks, rubbing sticks together for fire, flour and water only, maybe some salt, no oil, and cooking on a stone. Your videos are always fantastic and very educational.
Probably lard instead of oil!
Must be very flavourful
Thank you very much for this approach to real bread and for all your time in developing this recipe and technique. It looks very real, very ancient.
After a long, long day of Too Much Noise, this was exactly what I needed even though I usually come here for information and wordplay. Also not at all a dog person, but Such Good Puppers!
Given how hot it is here in South Australia during the summer, I've been searching for a sourdough recipe that doesn't use an oven. I will definitely be trying this using my induction cooker out in an area away from the main living area of the house. Thankyou!
Super excited for this :)
I was completely entranced for the whole duration of the movie!
Nice ASMR today, thanks!
The bread looks amazing! I bet it would also go well with some hard goat or sheep cheese.
Love the asmr
This is so cool
Beautiful:)
Super video! I have some einkorn on hand and may give this a try today.

Where did the idea of cutting the log in such a manner come from?
We call it a Swedish fire. But I am not sure 😅
Loved this! Will have to remember if having to rough it. Otherwise a cool experience
You filmed it as a pro 👍👏🥰
I love the solar heat
Lovley:))
We’re all chuckling… You hit every auditory point along the way and finishing with the munching dogs was brilliant. So, a lid on the cast iron skillet would have been too modern?
Ok now! Those are some seriously cute friends you have. Great video.
Liked and subscribed. Bread making and beautiful dogs - what’s not to like? 😃
Love the Primitive Technology homage!
It would have also be great seeing you grinding yourself the Einkorn berries beetween stones like 5000 years before having a Mockmill ;) Not sure that you would have been able to finish your video till now! 🤣 Great video, greetings from Bavaria!
How do you give bread away? What container/paper/etc do you put it in to preserve the crust/moisture?
looks tasty
Would like to see how you get on making sourdough loaves with the freshly milled flour. I've had my mill for almost a year. Took some adapting but I this I still need so ideas to improve.
OMG I loved this style of video! Not that the ones with you telling dumb jokes aren't good as well, heh heh. I love them all, keep 'em coming 👍
Good video! I think it would have been better if you had added subtitle with what you are doing in the video for beginners. I know there is a blog post, but still!
These reminds me of pancake...
Nice video
Those breads would make great burger buns
Nice video! Tried Einkorn flour. It makes a chewy cookie
I mean, we mostly lived in houses 5,000 years ago, to be fair. We'd invented the weaving loom by that point!!
This video is weirdly relaxing 🤣 freshly ground einkorn flour yummy 😋
Very funny video; thank you!!
Well those ground turkey patty’s cooked up nicely! Personally I prefer mine with grilled onions and some salt. 😆😆😆 Do these cook-bake (book? cake?) up like English muffins?
Yes they will! Not as much though as it's a low gluten flour.
Now I know peace
Great editing! So how was it?
Super delicious 😋😋😋
Really interesting but strange not to hear you speaking as you usually speak a lot !!!! This looks similar to the thick pancakes I make with my leftover sourdough starters. In UK we use an ancient flour called Spelt which was brought over by the Romans about 2,000 years ago. Your dogs are beautiful, which breed are they please ?
Is this ASMR?? Love it although I miss your ‘Gluten tag’
Came for the bread, stayed for the Doggos 🐶
How did it taste?? I feel like it would make a tasty bread for a breakfast sandwich with some egg and cheese
vv nice
Don’t know if anyone else had this problem but this video did not show up in my subbox!
Interesting and beautiful format, but miss your jokes 😁
Secret scene ? Where ?
LiZiHinnerk what a great idea.
Cool. Now make Matze that is kosher for Passover. It is tasty once you make it with einkorn or spelt.
Modern flour matzah if vile - I know this from way too much experience.
Such fun although I missed your pleasing voice.
Fantastic! Basically what I have for breakfast every weekend. Cinnamon, raisins and walnuts, freshly milled flour and sourdough starter left overnight and baked in the morning. delicious.
Tbh I'm not into ASMR but interesting video
We call this "bazlama" in my country.
You should have milled the flour like they did 5000 years ago!!
I enjoyed this video, but I'm not a fan of ASMR. I prefer it when you talk -you're very entertaining and educational.
Wait a minute is that a McMuffin?
Old one haha
How come you didnt speak in this video??
24th!
Bits of sand mixed up in the flour are missing. So sad to miss a part of the ancient experience. 😅 JK.
That was a lot of work just to make dog food
Hmm… Dog bread, I see.
Watched it till the end to support you, but this ASMR thing is not for me… (I find it unwatchable, but I am sure there are people who enjoy it) Your content doesn’t need it in my opinion. I come here for the information you provided
no, no, no and no
bread on cast iron needs to be cooked low and slow, dry heat, fat IN the dough not on the outside!
