This was the first D-Day level, ever. Many followed in the next two decades, but this is the only one in which you really die a lot and are meant to keep down. Also, you traversing the beach could be excruciatingly long. Sure, there are set pieces to be triggered here and there, but this one is really immersive and it takes a while to notice. Not to mention, the sounds. They are deafening. You can barely hear people speak. I don't know what the hell happened later on, but it's rare hear something as early MOH or COD sound design past 2005. I was surprised by the intensity during a replay
1 of the things that made this such a great mission other than the incredibly loud sounds and disorientating visuals is the feeling you get of death around you, every turn you see someone die, each moment you squad seems to get smaller and smaller. War is hell. The men the fought and died in this day of both sides need to be shown respect.
Same, it was so frustrating to play this level during grade school. there were no guides at the time so you're only option was to cheat if you couldn't escape it :(
@@Swam0811 Yeah, not happening. The modern Medal of Honor wasn't received too well, and its sequel was received way worse. The VR version? it's broken, short, and despite the era it takes place in, is a major disconnect. That and you're fighting the controls instead of the A.I. which wasn't designed too well. The franchise had it's comeback. Unfortunately, instead of remastering/remaking the older titles, they chose to make a game for the clunky, and still untested VR. I love Medal of Honor, but I'm also a realist. Plus it's EA... they hate Single-player games, or games they can't profit off, unless it has predatory MTX galore.
-Sir, it's a massacre! What the hell are doing here?! -We're getting off this damn beach! Move, move! Go, go! -Sir, what's the rallying point?! -Just get up the beach!

June 6th 1944 Allied Forces fought the German soldiers in Normandy, Americans took over Utah and Omaha Beaches the British took over Sword and Gold Beaches, and the Canadians took Juno Beach and US, British, and Canadian Paratroopers jumped to Normandy on June 6th 1944
I love how soldiers in front of you slip and fall flat from that wet ramp and how soldier laying next to medic pretends he has guts torn out and medic is unable to notice he has clean jacket without single bruise. Also Navy operators of the higgins boats ruined the entire assault since they simply parked the higgins blocking Charlie sector so other waves of reinforcements were not available so after 98% of casualties the german crew wiped out the landing force with only Powell remaining. If the commanders were more tactical they would send only lt Powell in swimsuit during the night and wait till evening for signal for from Powell that all sectors of Omaha beach are clear and send remaining 34000 soldiers on June 7th. Just like in Arzew where Powell dissarmed beach defences alone. Also last time i checked most job on D-day was done by Cobra unit and the unit commander even managed to have birth to future gunslinger and doppelganger of her apprentices clone son
...you know this is a _video game,_ right? They couldn't show blood and guts without earning a "Mature" rating, and at the time (2002) there was quite a bit of push-back from parents and "moral guardians" trying to censor such content. Just look at the firestorm around the game _Manhunt,_ which came out the next year.
WW 2 gunshot wound rules im MOHAA World: when soldier is hit many times by mg42 and has visible dust clouds in spots of the wound, give him canteen of water. If soldier seems to be without a scratch telling you he has his intestines torn out, trust him and tell him he will be Ok. Stay with wounded soldier until mortar shell lift you to safety. If you are afraid of blood its ok but if dusted wound hits and knocked down helmets makes you sick you cant be fronline medic. War is hell :D

@@takitachibana1267 Well, Allied Assault isn't the first one, nor second. Third or fourth I think, though you are right, Spielberg did help with the first MoH. But Allied Assault came out after Saving Private Ryan, so yeah, the film heavily influenced the D-Day Beach Landing mission.
I always loved how amazingly loud this scene was... It always got me so immersed in the game.

Better than CoD WW2 quiet war for sure
It’s supposed to be similar to the D-Day scene from Saving Private Ryan.
Great Movie tho
Conker's Bad Fur Day on N64 had one too

10:40 I remember this part it was hard af 🙄 you literally never know where the mines are this makes it even more frustrating
Totally. I wanted dowload this game after so many years. But when i saw this part i didnt want anymore. :D

It's easy, you just don't go behind the "MINEN" signs.
AF Guides only died because he didn't have enough health whenever the MG shoots him from behind
Good ol days , i played these when i was 7 or 8 years old , that is 2007 i think... man time flies fast huh :)
I remember this level all to well. Getting through the mines and double machine gun nests was hard and a health potion never looked so good.
Nostalgia❤️
Never played this particular game, but it sounds amazing.
This game needs a remake!
i agree

@@JamesPolymer Not to mention technology limitations of the time making it difficult for realistic gore and blood to rendered in-game.
Meds, now
Nais you have a good day
Clear the ramp!
Thirty seconds!
Ah memories, this is the mission that i raged, punched the monitor and smashed the keyboard
