Nice one! Ive been doing lots and lots of in-depth research into the formation of the Glencoe ski area for several years now and this fills in lots of the missing gaps/bits of info
Guy at 0:14 be like 'Mate, you need to pay first before you ride the chairlift!' PS: I think this video was shot in late 1994 - It says April 23rd, '94 on a sign. That would stand true alongside the big snow of 94 (i was a todler back then) and so skiing continued late. The poma is also there, installed in 1988 acording to my documents, however, the conflicting bit of information here is that the new Dopplemayr accsess chair was installed in 1991, so this would suggest the video was filmed during 2 or more seasons. Email me if you want a full PPT on the history of Glencoe's infrastructure.
Hi Jonathan, You could be correct about the year. At first I thought the 9 was a badly written 8, but the ski suit worn by my cousin probably was not bought in 1984, although it did feature in photos taken in the '80s It was footage that I had archived, never thought of noting the year! Thanks for your interest. Pat PS: I have a video on youtube of the "Big dump of snow Glencoe 1994"
@@psvideo100 The plateu poma would not have been there in the mid 80's....and you would have been using punch cards rather than daytickets.and its pre safety bar on Cliffy.
The mullets & frizzy perms all suggest 1980s to me! Plus the Dynastar Course skis the lady is wearing at 4:39 are 1984 vintage. And to me that sign looks like it says ‘84.

The tune is an Apple [Garageband] Jingle, called Shetland.
Hah 3:30, Laura Stevenson, Russel Ritchie and Jennifer Jack, omg !! Puts the timeline between 1983 and 1986.

Yes it is the West Highland Ski Club a lot of familiar faces !
Try the Scottish Ski Club and the Glencoe Ski club for information. Both clubs have a long connection with skiing at Glencoe.
My skis still look like that...
Jarrad Patterson is on here my son. 🙋♀️🐕💕
