      getting discharged from the hospital today idk why though because I'm having chest pain making it hard to talk let alone even move. So Im really unsure when I'll be able to hit water. Freshwater prob sooner then salt unless i just bait fish in salt. Thanks for asking Chris your videos will help motivate me to get better sooner and get out there. I was really looking forward to the Jersey Fall run this season since I knew I was going to be in Jersey after mtk but i guess ill just have to wait and see.

    hey i learned from experience, if you ever troll around with a live fish, make sure to hook it sideways through the nose. Otherwise, the hook will close their mouth and stop them from getting water to their gills. I learned this trolling for stripers with perch on the line.

    12:00 did you hook that pinfish through both the jaw and the top of his mouth? Because fish need to move their mouth in order to breathe properly, so I'd think he wouldn't last long and it might explain why he didn't swim down properly. Any thoughts on this?

    I believe you are right. Skunks are bad. I had to shoot one that wouldn't go away.i think it was sick. Got him before the dogs saw him. Spent the next week kayak fishing PCB and didn't catch crap to brag about. Just glad I didn't have to go through that mess with the dogs before my trip hahaha!

    Did you check the internet to see which great whites were swimming around the Vineyard at the time? Also, I just got into saltwater fishing and getting my kayak(not as nice as yours) next week. Which town are you fishing from normally in the video? I go up there semi regularly, but I normally fish off Connecticut in the sound. Which lures are you using when getting the bass and which was it you used to catch the false albacore?

    Apparently the Albies are good to eat shashimi and sushi if bled out immediately, filleted, and iced. I want to try but they don't come inshore in South Carolina like they do up north, due to the water temp and proximity to the Gulf Stream.

    Quick question. It seems like squids are multiplying in population in several locations just wondering what it's been like up there?
    What's happened to the population over the last 5 years?

    first fish looks like a Bonita with a mackerel pattern

    • @tracyl4383
      @tracyl4383 7 років тому

      Little tunny are more referenced to edible tuna. These are False Albacore meaning fake tuna since you wont wanna eat them, trust me, we have tried several times. We use them for shark fishing and freeze them for chum/bait. Down south, people falsely name this exact fish a "bonita" simply because down south they do not have real bonita. Up here in NJ, bonita are typically smaller than falsies and do look different than falsies with the lightning streaks.

    • @entername9902
      @entername9902 7 років тому

      Oh I see, what do False albacore taste like?

    • @tracyl4383
      @tracyl4383 7 років тому +1

      They taste like they look, dark intermediate meat. Id say the easiest way to describe it would be to cut out the red blood line meat from a white fish fillet, and then eat that red meat. Its not bad, but its not good and thats IF you like fish lol.

      insulated boots and grundens! I had a pair of xtra-tuf boots that lasted me a couple years which were great for the cold, well insulated and comfortable. there are other brands that are also probably good. definitely need a pair of slickers too, grundens or some other type of waterproof pants.

    Skunk Be Gone Juice
    1 qt of hydrogen peroxide
    1/3 cup of baking soda
    1T of liquid soap
    Smear it on rub it in let it sit 10-15 minutes. Then wash it off, repeat if necessary.

      bring on the sharks! I have never run into a threatening shark out there but in massachusetts there is def potential for great whites, although we didnt see anything like that. false albacore are not good to eat no, in fact they are considered "inedible", they are more of a bait fish if anything, guys down south (like blacktiph) use them for bait for sharks and grouper.
