I guess im asking randomly but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost the password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
The 23rd Street Distillery Single Malt Whisky retails for around $150 in Victoria, Australia. I recommend trying Starward Nova as it is a fantastic Australian whisky!
yes there are influential people here like Bill Lark who have shaped the industry and there are outstanding examples of rye: Belgrove and Archie Rose Rye
O have a bottle of the Black Butte. Luv it, always reminds me of like a Scotch Ale like flavours but this time the ABV won't sneak up on you, it tells you up front about the ride your about to go on. 😁😋🥃
Amidst the putrid obselecence of life in seclusion due to Covid19, the Somm and The Mooch giving me the hope for better days still. You magnificent bastards!
Greg Vangsness here. Just reflecting on your discussion of Australian spirits. I'd suggest that Australian distilleries are fairly fiercely independent. They are quite spread out geographically. I believe Daniel has the right of it in terms of historical connections to the UK.
On Australian Whisky - The influential person you're looking for is Bill Lark. From Tasmania he lobbied to change legislation in the 90s to allow craft distilling, which single handedly led to our current whisky and craft spirit boom. Both Dan and Rex are right on this one as he a) was directly inspired by Scottish Single Malts and b) was (and still is!) hugely influential on the local scene. As far as Australian rye.. there is plenty! Belgrove, Gospel and Archie Rose come to mind. Archie Rose recently picked up a fancy medal for best rye whisky in the world! Lots going on down here. Might be an idea for a Vault episode...
I love the new ending song where the guys post "Thanks for Watching " at the very end. It's very New Orleans jazzy and I like it. It's much better than the space noises that were kind of weird and didn't match up with a whiskey review video.
Hey Hey Hey!!!!!! Watched the rest of the video and 23rd Street came up! This is from my home state of South Australia. The Riverland and Renmark to be precise. Have yet to try their whiskey but love their gin/s. Great video and love you guys. Mat from Adelaide.
La King's Confectionery in Galveston does baller ice cream in addition to the taffy. And literally every other kind of candy, plus a whole soda fountain. And toys and stuff. It's a joy of a place, with dark wood floors and very good A/C. 11/10, would recommend after the beach.
Australia whiskey scene biggest and most influential distilleries Mainland (QLD, NSW, VIC, SA) New South Wales Archie rose Crafty distillery Victoria. Greg Vangsness here. Maybe you should find some 'Benevolent Bastard' hats, glasses or other paraphernalia to wear for each occasion, the same things each time.
Hi Guys, Bill Lark is the Godfather of Australian whiskey. You might have even done Lark malts before. He was the first and the one that drove the grown of whiskey in Tasmania.
We don't grow much rye in Australia or corn in Australia compared to wheat and barley cereals. That may give some guidance to why we head for a malt first and why rye will probably one of the last things we do.
Ever since I saw your review of the whiskey distilled from an un-hopped pale ale and your review of the whiskey with roasted barley, I've wondered how a whiskey distilled from an un-hopped porter would be. I'd be curious to know if Deschutes boiled the wort before fermentation, or just pasteurized it. I have a clone recipe for their porter, looks like one roasted barley, one kilned barley and a base of malted two-row, no adjuncts or other grains.
It’s interesting that you say you want to try a rye from Australia and then you open an Archie Rose. The same people who make the best Rye in the work. Got my bottle today. And got a tour booked to check them out.
Are you two genuinely best friends or really close coworkers?? You guys have the same vibes as my best friend and i, and that is what has kept me hooked to the whisk[e]y tribe also the booze hahaha
TIL that Crater Lake Sprits and Bendistillery are the same place. Also, as a Scotch fan I think it is super frustrating that whenever a craft distillery makes a malt whiskey they automatically double or triple the price over their other whiskey. Yes, barley is more expensive than corn, but that isn't where most of the cost comes from. Yet once again we have Crater Lake award-winning Straight Rye at $30 and their Reserve Rye at $40 and Black Butte Porter Whiskey at $85. I mean come on, Glendronach 15 year old Revival just won San Francisco Spirits Awards - Best Whiskey and it is $90.
Rex wants a scene before Benevolent Bastarding: Line: (DW) "First, this is a restock from Benevolent Bastard (insert Name.)" Rex: Line: (insert Name.) you Benevolent Bastard! (run graphic)
You guys are a huge inspiration to me and my channel! I hope to be just as great as you all! Any type of feedback would be amazing! Keep up the amazing work! -Beyond the Barrel
I think that it would be interesting to see them review their own production whiskey from crowded barrel. For the people who can’t get down there to experience it
I would put the Archie rose in a small 1L oak barrel and do some aging. Taste it after 6 months and see if the tail taste disappears. Be a nice experiment.
@Whiskey Vault - You magnificent bastards have got me buying bottles of bourbon and smelling them... and tasting them... Whats gonna happen next, am I going to start liking whiskey??? Shit, this is happening isn't it? Oh well, there goes the neighborhood :)
Those names of Australian whiskey you wanted to know starts with Bill Lark. From there patrick maguire from Sullivans cove, david vitale and sam slaney of starward, cameron syme of limeburners and probably mick and mike at archie rose...

That was honestly the best explanation of tails and cuts you've ever done on this or the Tribe channel.

And... this is why I love this channel. Educational and entertaining!
I’m loving the new random animations throughout the videos. 😁
Wow! The Black Butte Porter by Deschute's Brewery is by far my favorite porter ever... I guess I now have to try that whiskey.
Left Hand Brewing Nitro Porter. Must try. Whole nitro line is pretty excellent. Duck Rabbit Brewery makes my favorite dark beers of all time though.
I like the extra explanation in text at the bottom in this episode. I'd love to see more of that!
Appreciate the editing! Love watching you guys!
I like Black Butte Porter. I'm gonna have to give that whiskey a try.
O have a bottle of the Black Butte. Luv it, always reminds me of like a Scotch Ale like flavours but this time the ABV won't sneak up on you, it tells you up front about the ride your about to go on. 😁😋🥃
It's pricey, but worth it. A special occasion pour for sure.
Deschutes black butte porter is amazing, might have to give that whiskey a try!

Daniel, Archie Rose DOES do a rye, I have it in my cupboard =)
Black Butte Porter is wonderful, only wish they would enter the Keto beer market :)
I really want to hug you guys right now in a totally wholesome way. I wish I lived in Texas.

The candy you’re looking for in 23rd street whiskey is what we have here in Australia; Allen’s Banana Lollies
Been following you guys for years. You two are great--and the editing keeps getting better and better!
