  • The Huracan Performante is a massively fast. It lapped the 'Ring in under seven minute with just a change of tyres to make sure it got well under that figure. But are Ring Kings cars you can live with? Does it feel that much faster every day? Are the seats super-uncomfortable?

    It’s amazing how different two VAG built cars designed to do the same thing really are between the Performante and the GT3RS.

    • @TheRedlinedotcom
      @TheRedlinedotcom  6 років тому

      Isn't that interesting? I hadn't even thought of that link. As you know, there's almost no shared parts - they might have a few electronic switches somewhere - and really, the GT3RS' journey to Ring King is so different. I think the GT3RS achievement is even bigger because it's a more compromised platform than the Huracan. Thanks heaps for watching!

      The Redline I agree. It is amazing what Porsche has done while still maintaining the rear engine layout even though it has been proven to not be as efficient as a true mid engine car. Porsche buyers though would lose their minds if the 911 ever went mid engine! Of course I watch them all man you’re a part of the Driven Channel family!

    The RIGHT kind of information! I need these opinions before building one for an order. I will not be getting the racing buckets after hearing your thoughts. All my research is paying off. Lamborghini is a bit negligent at giving their dealers all the information necessary for customers like me. I'm more interested in the mechanical and performance details than the cosmetic ones. This car is a true game changer for everyone and for Lamborghini. The Aventador-S is now the world's loveliest luxury car, but for what it costs, I think I'd be better off with a cushy saloon. The Aventador will arrive in style, but it'll arrive behind the Performante. If they don't do something really creative with that 4o foot boat with 500 cubic inch motor, it's heading for the world of the irrelevant. If it's constructed wisely, it's the nicest thing on wheels, but it's no longer the driver's car of choice thanks to the Performante and McLaren 720-S, both or which are half the money. Don't let that 911 GT2 RS fool you with it's Nurburgring effort. The Performante snaps around the streets and shorter tracks as well and in most situations, better. The 911 has two giant leaf blowers on it's intake. We all know what'll happen to the old 911 if Lamborghini decides to anti-up with something similar. Without a doubt, the Performante has much more potential. If they take the twin turbo V-8 that's in the new Urus, Porsche will sustain a 918 sized attack against their 9-11 next September, straight down into the basement at free fall speed.

      Hi there Pazzo, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts here. It's always great to hear what other people think. I remember doing a track day with Lamborghini at Sepang in Malaysia a couple of years ago and it was easy to keep up with the Aventador in the Huracan. I drove the Aventador (it was my first Redline video!) but came away loving the Huracan even more. I'm genuinely pleased I was able to help with the seat choice, they are *properly* uncomfortable. Dealers don't care, they just want to sell you a car quickly, they don't want to spend time. Not like Rolls Royce. Let us know what you end up with!

    • @TheRedlinedotcom
      @TheRedlinedotcom  6 років тому +2

      Hah, that skin cancer looked way bigger in the mirror than it did on camera. It was actually the aftermath of having it blasted off, that's how I knew it wasn't fatal :-) Thanks so much for watching and thanks for leaving a comment that made me laugh. Make sure you subscribe for more!

    • @TheRedlinedotcom
      @TheRedlinedotcom  6 років тому

      You know, it's funny - if the seats weren't so bad, the car would be good. In the normal car Strada is hopeless but it seems to work a lot better in the Performante. But yeah, the seats. Ouch. To be fair, the bruise I got down my right thigh was from the incredible cornering grip, not so much the seat itself :-) Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment.

    Excellent review, I just discovered your VLOG, I really like your style. I've been fortunate to have a lot of cars, Ferrari, Mclaren, Lamborghini's and Porsche. This is by far the greatest car I've ever driven, I put my GT3 RS in 2nd now. I have a Giallo Inti (Yellow metallic) but with the Comfort seats (makes a huge difference). I like this car so much that I have the Performante Spyder coming in November. If you are ever in Florida in the Tampa Bay Area, give a shout.

    • @TheRedlinedotcom
      @TheRedlinedotcom  6 років тому

      Hi Luke! Thanks a lot for watching! You can specify more sensible (heavier) seats but I think you’d have to unless it was exclusively a track car. Even then the standard seat would make it hard to wear a helmet. Anyway, make sure you subscribe for more seat advice! :-)

      Hi Mohammad - thanks so much for watching! The exact colour is "Ad Personam Rosso Bia Glitter", according to the spec sheet. Australians pay a staggering $27500 for that colour (about $US20k). The interior stitcing, which I imagine matches the exterior colour, was called Rosso Alala.
