The Deviant Moon Deck is my absolute favourite. It is very direct in a cheeky manner which helps when facing things you may not want to. Definitely get the book - you won't be disappointed.

Great ideas for shadow work decks. I have the Dark Goddess Tarot app but haven't used it much although I should. The Mary-El Tarot looks interesting! Same with Osho Zen. I really need a rich husband to fund my deck collection. Thanks for the walk through!
Thank you for sharing your shadow work decks! I’ve been using The Intuitive Tarot this season, and it’s worked really well for that. I also really like using more earthy and comforting decks for shadow work. Not light and fluffy, but grounded. It’s like you’re sitting at s table having a cup of tea with your best friend that gives it to you straight, but with love behind it. Also, that mug is amazing! ❤️
That's such a great description! Yes, earthy gives it to you straight - I totally agree :) To be honest, I do shadow work on the regular with just about every deck I own, but there's something about these that just get right to it... so they become easy to reach for :)
I bought the book to the Deviant moon tarot deck, it is amazing and has in depth meanings for the cards !!! Worth every penny and a real piece of artwork.

Super agree with the Mary El. The second edition of the Mary El kind of censored the Hierophant so it isn't as "scary" any longer -- I kind of miss it but it is what it is. I'm still like you previous self about the Deviant Moon BUT I do have the Trifoni Della Luna so hehehe. The Dark Goddesses Deck looks better than I thought it'll be (I think I assumed that the cardstock wasn't great for some reason)!!!! I'm not great at shadow work and I'm not super sure how to actually "do it", so thanks for sharing those spreads.

Love this. So agree tht the Osho Zen is a great shadow work deck. So now I'm going to actually use it. Haha. But it has been proven that goldfish do have memories and we are extremely cruel to put them in those tiny watery cages. Never mind. I know you wouldn't do that. Grateful for this vid.

I have the borderless Deviant Moon deck and the companion book (ouch that was expensive). The book is a super great full color guide. It has the artists drawings and early sketches as a child and teenager in it. Great book for art enthusiasts. Each card has a detailed meaning and back story for each card's character. Get it if you haven't already.
I resonated with what you said about the Hierophant card...I also struggled with authority figures (especially teachers) in my life and when it comes to shadow work, it's one of the bigger stories that I had to unpack and explore. I strongly believe anybody who is placed in a position of power (whether it is as a teacher, employer, or whatever) should be conscious of that power and tap into that power in the form of inspiration, guidance and leadership - not as control and self-fulfillment. Deviant Moon is probably my top pick, too! I'll have to see what my other 4 are.
That's so fascinating... I do think that struggles with authority for many of us stem from having people who we gave up power TO who ultimately didn't deserve it. Tricky stuff to navigate for sure! I hope you still do your blog post!!!!

I also think the Heal Yourself oracle deck would work very well for me, or anyone else who's never doe shadow work with cards. In fact, I stopped the video and ordered one!. The David's Tea mugs sold out reallllly fast I think but it was the only mug in their Halloween Collection if you're on their site. If it's sold out, you won't be able to see it though, it was a Nordic Mug.
