I'm not sure why plunge is so limited anyway. Dash jump should always lead to plunge. It's so useless on most characters especially in abyss and domains that I never even look at the stats for it. It's not as if the damage is broken and it would be easily limited by stamina required to dash jump.

So Diluc needs Diona shield movement speed boost if he is not using anemo resonance to do dragon strike reliably. I tried it with 2 geo resonance and 2 pyro resonance but diluc lacks speed to do the plunge.
Wow this combo is kind of insane and its making me play my diluc again haha. I just tried testing the combo out on my diluc and I'm getting better and better at it. The hardest part for me is telling my brain to press dash and jump at the same time right after I hit. I also found that its much easier to do the plunge attack after diluc's 3rd e as compared to a normal auto attack, since it seems like his 3rd e seems to have more hit lag than a normal auto, so you are more consistent with getting the timing right for a plunge attack right after his 3rd e as compared to an auto. And what's even better is that his triple auto/triple e into the plunge attack combo is so fricking cool and sexy! I love it so much. Thanks for giving us a guide on how to perform the technique properly!
@@chronohax7186 left shift or right click depends on your habit, but try to practice it on a tree first. After you can do it somewhat consistently, practice on ruin guards.

So. I did this by accident one day ages ago with Beidou. I was confused why I was able to do a plunge attack in an Abyss. Shrugged it off and just suffered. Now I found my Mondstat tree and I'm training.
@Gabriel Damasceno Meurer no even on pc it's very tight and almost require extra move speed, there is almost no different using contoller and keyboard for this tech to work. I don't play on mobile but I think you can just use a contoller on it.
On PS4 and training on a tree in Mondstadt. I'm able to do it with double Anemo but it's super hard. I can only do it once every like 10-20 hits. Don't think I'll be able to use it in combat.
Thanks for the video tenten, now you make my diluc feels more OP than before. This type of content is a total bargain for subscribing. If you have difficulties and have a macro mouse/keyboard, just use macro: Left click (50ms) Release (280 - 290ms) Right click (50ms) Release (20ms) Space (50ms) Release. The last click to initiate plunge atk is doing manually so you can control the direction and timing.
5:20 The glide advice is really useful actually, I was kinda of pulling it off but then I tried to use it to do little mini glides, and found that hitting space bar twice got it to work really consistently
Just when Hu Tao is here to become the new Pyro Impact, Diluc takes it back again. But Keqing being able to do this makes me very happy, she is once again proving to be the character closest to being a budget Devil May Cry character.

They buffed her burst though. Reduced her burst's CD. She's also still and will be the most broken character until they release a 6-star Pyro/Hydro bow main dps character with similar kits/skillsets as Ganyu's.

I tried it out for myself and it got it sometimes but it wasn't consistent. I figured out it was because when I tried to dash and jump, I would only jump up not dash jump. So I find it easier to do dash to jump but not pressing the keys at the same time but more in a quick and fluent motion from one to the other.
yep, same way as hit delay has some 3~6 frames (depending on the monster) of delay, dashing also has a few frames of delay in which you can jump. it's dash THEN jump, not both at the same time
Had to practice for 3 hrs straight to nail this technique. But I'm so glad i learnt it. I wasn't playing Diluc much these days cuz, I was farming friendship exp for Baal and Jean, but now, I'm using him so I can master this technique. The timing of pressing the keys and the sequence was a real challenge like you cannot be too fast or too slow.
@@stroman2154 I had Kazu and Jean. So double anemo and sprinting 25% less. So it was easier. You can use Diona shield/or Rosa... Or use double anemo with Kaeya. 👍🏼
If you are good enougth with your fingers (😈) you even won't need speed buff, I achive to do it with no Diona or doble anemo with Zhongli, and if you think is just because he's tall I did the same with characters like Bennet without speed buff. I just like this kind of tecniques and is more fun than go mining things like dragon strike and animation cancel (my best is 8 animation canceling with Mona)
I used to play alot of fighting games then i moved away from it due to toxicity, and i can't handle it anymore. Then GI came out and i thought it's a nice escape from the mechanics heavy games i played, but apparently not. *You thought you could escape from fighting games mechanics by play a Gacha game boi?!*
don't worry. you can still play this game without techs. it's not a competitive game unlike those fighting games you talk about. you just need to not look into these mechanics to stay away from them.
really wish this could be his passive, where every 4s or every time he uses his burst, he could manage to jump twice to make a dragon strike, and totally makes sense with all his falcon aesthetic going on, an series of plunge ataks from the air to the ground. And his passive is so uselles maaann sad.
I love seeing so many Genshin techs. Thought footstooling was so cool, and now people are discovering these crazy techs, along with Keqing skill techs. Fantastic! Hope MiHoYo doesn't patch or change... if anything, allow the shorter characters more accessibility to these techs too!

I fear that I might be footstooling instead of dragon striking. Also, is there a difference doing it against tall vs. short enemies?

Hey man, I've tried out the technique with my diluc, but I cannot get it to work unless I have double anemo in my party (even with a macro). At 2:44 in the video, you mention that there must be enough hit lag. Do you know what factors affect hit lag? Could sub 10 ping / good PC reduce hit lag?
Same, can get it to work with diona 90% of the time. Without her on flat ground, it's like 10%. I could boost it up to 33% if there's a slight downslope
I use Razer Synapse 3 for my macros. My macro for Diluc: Left mouse button -> (0.38s delay) Right mouse button -> (0.01s delay) Spacebar. This only works with diona shield or with anemo resonance though. I would say it works about 90% of the time. The missing final 10% could be my own mistimed plunge attacks though.
I feel like this tutorial needs a better explanation. How long is the wait to jump after the initial hit? What comes first, the dash or the jump? How long is the wait to plunge after the jump?
considering this is because of the results of ingame hitlags and velocity shit, I doubt they would remove it anytime soon, even Ningguang bug is only patched in 1.4, so I dont think this Diluc tech which doesnt hinder gameplay much would be patched soon unless they reworked the whole game mechanics (hitlag etc) itself
@@chronohax7186 ^ second this. Diluc isn’t the only one that can do this. Characters like Keqing as shown in the video can do it too, so if Mihoyo ever did want to fix this it would probably require a massive rework, and I honestly doubt they even care that much about a bug like this.

If you cant do it as of patch 1.5, it's most likely they've fixed it. It's in the developers notes for patch 1.5 if I'm not mistaken. They fixed the delay or lag when your normal attack misses hence disabling the accidental high jump. :/

Hey, I play on Android. You can use a 3rd party gamepad app. I've tried Octopus (on google play store) and it works the most consistently. Mantis also works
For anyone wondering. Yes this is still doable but almost impossible without movement speed buff from either Diona, Jean or anemo resonance. With a movement speed buff it can be done with practice.

YES people are starting to see just how insane this games combat system is, a lot of crying about content, shit this IS content. This is the type of shit I play games for , they develop the games and WE create the meta. Now imagine all the shit we still havent figured out. Tons of stuff in this game we still can learnin the mean time waiting for content, we are still really early in Genshin's life and its not gonna magically disappear anytime soon, not with the profits it makes. We will have a looooong time with this game, so sit back and enjoy the journey and not try to rush everything to its end.

@@snowflake8658 Animation cancelling or taking advantage of precise timing mechanics to get better performance out of a character/game is something I enjoy, it's been around games since they have been invented so I don't know why you have to be so nitpicky about what we call things, maybe you just don't have the time or skill to perfect one yourself

I tried it out for myself and it got it sometimes but it wasn't consistent. I figured out it was because when I tried to dash and jump, I would only jump up not dash jump. So I find it easier to do dash to jump but not pressing the keys at the same time but more in a quick and fluent motion from one to the other.
yep, same way as hit delay has some 3~6 frames (depending on the monster) of delay, dashing also has a few frames of delay in which you can jump. it's dash THEN jump, not both at the same time
Had to practice for 3 hrs straight to nail this technique. But I'm so glad i learnt it. I wasn't playing Diluc much these days cuz, I was farming friendship exp for Baal and Jean, but now, I'm using him so I can master this technique.
The timing of pressing the keys and the sequence was a real challenge like you cannot be too fast or too slow.

@@stroman2154 I had Kazu and Jean. So double anemo and sprinting 25% less. So it was easier. You can use Diona shield/or Rosa... Or use double anemo with Kaeya. 👍🏼
If you are good enougth with your fingers (😈) you even won't need speed buff, I achive to do it with no Diona or doble anemo with Zhongli, and if you think is just because he's tall I did the same with characters like Bennet without speed buff.
I just like this kind of tecniques and is more fun than go mining things like dragon strike and animation cancel (my best is 8 animation canceling with Mona)

0:45 I am 99% sure the characters have i-frames (invincible) while airborne because the tech extends the i-frames from your dash

Hey man, I've tried out the technique with my diluc, but I cannot get it to work unless I have double anemo in my party (even with a macro). At 2:44 in the video, you mention that there must be enough hit lag. Do you know what factors affect hit lag? Could sub 10 ping / good PC reduce hit lag?
Which macro were you using? Were you able to do it using the macro?
Same, can get it to work with diona 90% of the time. Without her on flat ground, it's like 10%. I could boost it up to 33% if there's a slight downslope
Can you share the macro timings?
I use Razer Synapse 3 for my macros. My macro for Diluc: Left mouse button -> (0.38s delay) Right mouse button -> (0.01s delay) Spacebar. This only works with diona shield or with anemo resonance though. I would say it works about 90% of the time. The missing final 10% could be my own mistimed plunge attacks though.

I feel like this tutorial needs a better explanation. How long is the wait to jump after the initial hit? What comes first, the dash or the jump? How long is the wait to plunge after the jump?

considering this is because of the results of ingame hitlags and velocity shit, I doubt they would remove it anytime soon, even Ningguang bug is only patched in 1.4, so I dont think this Diluc tech which doesnt hinder gameplay much would be patched soon unless they reworked the whole game mechanics (hitlag etc) itself
@@chronohax7186 ^ second this. Diluc isn’t the only one that can do this. Characters like Keqing as shown in the video can do it too, so if Mihoyo ever did want to fix this it would probably require a massive rework, and I honestly doubt they even care that much about a bug like this.

If you cant do it as of patch 1.5, it's most likely they've fixed it. It's in the developers notes for patch 1.5 if I'm not mistaken. They fixed the delay or lag when your normal attack misses hence disabling the accidental high jump. :/

Hey, I play on Android. You can use a 3rd party gamepad app. I've tried Octopus (on google play store) and it works the most consistently. Mantis also works
and here I thoughht only Xiao is the idiot that keeps gliding whenever I try to plunge
For anyone wondering. Yes this is still doable but almost impossible without movement speed buff from either Diona, Jean or anemo resonance. With a movement speed buff it can be done with practice.

YES people are starting to see just how insane this games combat system is, a lot of crying about content, shit this IS content. This is the type of shit I play games for , they develop the games and WE create the meta. Now imagine all the shit we still havent figured out. Tons of stuff in this game we still can learnin the mean time waiting for content, we are still really early in Genshin's life and its not gonna magically disappear anytime soon, not with the profits it makes. We will have a looooong time with this game, so sit back and enjoy the journey and not try to rush everything to its end.
