I was imagining Chris bringing his roller over when they finished making ruts. We had a 20 foot roller that was towed by the tractor on the farm, and it would have been heavy enough to flatten those ruts if the ground was wet. I bet a lot of farms would have something like that. We also had a roller which had loose rings instead of a drum. That was towed behind a big rotary tiller on the tractor. The tiller fluffed up the soil, and the roller compacted it just enough to seal in the moisture, and leave a perfect surface for drilling seeds.
Great job Chris helping out the cool neighbors, now we need to see you driving the monster truck over the big silt pile when you get a minute! The world needs more people like Let's Dig 18! Works his tale off and still makes time to help people out! Appreciate you Brother, watching from SE Ga!
That slide that you went down looked like it was fun for you.Fantastic of you to give them a little help on showing them how to remove the sludge from the far side of the pond.
Pretty cool seeing ya give those young boys a hand Chris !! You had them running to get their camera set up, They was thinking , We have "LetsDig18" helping us out , got to get it on film !! lolol... Good stuff Man !! Plus, I'm sure they are learning a trick or 2 here and there by watching you !! Great as always Man !! Have a great evening, And, On too the Next !!
As I am following Chris for a couple of years now, one can see the progress he made, it's heartwarming to see him always helping out ppl. Remember him rescueing an excavator sunken in mud up to the cabin. Kudos.
I remember reading an SCE cost estimate for laying lines via several alternative paths. They talked about tons/cubic yard. When the dirt is wet the weight really goes up, so the yards per truck load goes way down, the number of trips and cost goes way up. You should be filling the dump truck only about 2/3 full when its hauling mud.
Good on you to get in that pond and move some out of range mud that they could load up from the bank. That truck was seriously splashed with some mud splatters 😀
Would be nice to have you close to fix catastrophe. I’ve run excavators off and on for years on my farm. I guess if you drove one most days you might get use to steep slopes and the chance of getting stuck but I always worry about it to this day. You are a magician on a piece of equipment.
You know watching Chris there is no lost motion. Soon as the bucket hits the ground he is loading and as soon as it leaves the ground he is swinging then soon as he gets to the truck he is unloading. Never a lost motion. Best thing he could teach that young man is be consistant and constant in his movements. You get more done at the end of the day.
I knew that pond was shallow, but did not realize it had that much sediment in it. Ran a long reach one time, very different with that long arm having some "play" to it when trying to load. You have to stop short of your target I figured out pretty quick. Good stuff guys.
I was wondering if that was John's long reach they'd hired? I can't see Chris ever adding one to his ever increasing fleet of dirt moving machines. Geoff Bealy has mentioned Chris expanding his knowledge and experience working on his house build. Plus we have just seen him dig the footings for the new cabin on his farm, so I am also wondering if pond dredging will form less of his workloads, and maybe get into supporting building. I think Frank Cunningham (DigginOK) would have been pleased with the job Chris made digging those trenches, and I doubt there are more than a hand full of operators who can match Frank's skills at digging trenches.
Love the channel, you have taught me so much by following you. The projects you do with such personal care. It's something you just don't see these days. Would love to see updates from old projects done, the lakes are filled and running like designed. Think many of your followers would like to see post pics or a flyby with the drone. Just my thoughts as a follower.
We knew you could do it Chris. Good job. Is there anyway up stream you could make a catch basin to prevent some of the sediment from washing into the pond? That is a LOT of mud. Have a great weekend.
You come, see the allround full Mud Truck, and You will the Deposit see. The Boys have Work and to know not wider! You to climb in the long Reach Excavator and to fill the Truck father with Mud. Go in the Pond to farther Work. By the Exit You must Dry Earth in the Mud give. However a Perfect Work from You. Thanks for this Video. 💪👍👌
Giday from Australia I operated one of these CATs long reach 30 years ago if you get them on greasy slopes, they won't pull themselves out so easy they are piss weak on power when needed to handle their own weight getting out of sticky situations lol
We dug out on old wet weather pond in front of the house here on the farm back when i was a kid and my dad took all tgat mid like that and pilled it ip all over the yard which was huge. Several acres. It made really good too soil! The grass was always so thick and green after that.
Chris you was in the mud this morning breaking up concrete and I turn You Tube back on tonight and here you are in a pond digging more mud. Great job digging out the pond. Have a great weekend and God Bless.
You have not lost your touch on a Long Reach I would also like to say that that young man needs to get rid of the engine that he's got and find a good DT466 by International that is a good engine the state of Indiana uses those😂
OK Chris, this kid is not afraid to tackle a big project (for him). Now teach him how to care for your tools and what the difference between an operator and a machine master truly is.
Tell you what, you can tell that Carter is grateful to have you near by. Chris is super talented and a great operator. Like Carter, I'm also grateful to have a talented and great operator just down the road for my large projects.
To get the crane out of the pond the force applied needs to be as close to the plane of the undercarriage as possible. Otherwise you're lifting the tracks, or burying them. That's my opinion.
That was good. Yeah you got stuck there for a second but you know what you're doing and you got out. That was all right. Pretty sloppy though. The rock truck would have been good for there. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
@@kenore4003 yeah I know about that problem , I just haven't seen Chris having that issue . I did notice that the camera seemed to be mounted a little more to the left in the cab of that Cat then what it is in his own equipment .
That truck fills in the ruts as it makes them.

Pretty sure my kid has a kids story book about a dump truck like that "The little one that could"

Great example of a true professional making it look easy. Like landing a plane in a strong crosswind, experience and skill make all the difference. 👍

Even greater coordination and depth perception needed with that long reach. Great job!
Nothing like a little drama with a excavator. Nice of Chris to show the youngsters how it's done. And great content for their channel.
Chris, I think I can handle the straight digging, but if I had to load that truck with that long reach, it would have a lot of dents in it. Good job.
For get the dumper you need a farmer with a muck chucker spread that in the field
" forget "
You’re a class act Chris helping him like that.
Once again, you make it look easy. Nice mud moving job, Chris. What a good friend you are. Thanks for sharing.
I love pond videos the bestest!😂
They are my favorites. Have a great rest of the weekend Chris. Take care, have fun and God Bless ya Brother!!!❤😊
Great job playing in the mud great video thanks Chris
Chris adding some suspense to his channel, trying several different ways to extricate his excavator from a bowl.
Some nice grass growing silt, stuff will grow some thick grass for sure, good work an thanks for sharing 🇺🇲💪👍✊👌
Chris is just so smooth with that crazy long dipper😳
Chris is one heck of a operator!
That is a lot of sediment in that pond. How much have they taken out now? Thank you and have a great day.

I hope your buddy does take his monster truck through the pond mud be super cool 😎😎😎 hi everyone from northwest Missouri ❤
That would make some great topsoil once that dries out .
Throw in some cow manure in the mix and let it dry out and mix it up and spread it out, greenest pastures

Good job, you did great with the mud.
I never operated a long reach and I never wanted to. 😄

That truck fills the ruts as you go 😂😂
So let me guess. When he gets done playing with the long reach he will give you a good deal.
Pond number 2 begins construction.
See dump truck poop! When mud is involved, failure is in the cards!
Chris, that video on moving that bridge is that going to be shown?
I was going to ask the same. Maybe something went wrong.
Fun times playing in the Mud with Chris like a few years back with Chris digging a few ponds that were absolute mud holes
Nice job, bet they appreciated your expertise and help. Great cycle times, thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
Is the bucket size currently the maximum size for pond dredging or can it be larger?
If it were much bigger it would tip the excavator when loaded. There's a fine line there sometimes . . .
just like the old days working with John.

Good work Chris very smooth cutting that out and the machine was real smooth as well
Those 15 second cycles move a lot of mud evenusing small bucket!
I seem to remember you rescuing a stuck excavator from this job!….. or maybe that excavator!
They should set the tailgate chains and spread the mud out on the field. It would dry quickly and the pasture would love it.
[17:11] From the back the CAT has the look of a dragline machine :-)

I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO CHRIS 😊
Chris is in his element doing what he loves to do he makes it look easy but it's not takes yrs to learn it he wasn't born with joy stick in his hand
The world needs more mentors! Way to go Chris!
If it's a pond in need of restoration it's Chris's kinda fun.
If it's a friend's job he's glad to join in when nedded.
Why did I ever think you were solidly stuck? Silly me. Never doubt Chris!
I love a mud job thanks Chris.

lingo: johnny popper = scraper sheepsfoot = compactor fergie = massey ferg skip loader any others?
"Johnny Popper" usually refers to a John Deere.
Name is a left-over from the 'old time' 2 cylinder diesel tractor...
yup... it went-- pop-pop-pop-pop.
If the water had been left in the pond, I think you could have used one of those big pumps like a concrete pump to pump the mud into the truck.
250 more truckloads and he will have a stable pond and the area's largest mud pie. Ray

I am thinking that with peasoup like that you would want a layback with some height to it so you get drainage. A more efficient haul would be nice.

They need a silt pond above that. Insane to let a pond fill in that much.
LetsMud18!
How can you not giggle at the sound of the mud dumping out of the truck? Its like an empty ketchup bottle noise, I will always laugh.
Very cool to see you on the long reach. Your pond reno's are my favourite to watch. Will you ever buy a big dipper ?
My wife once ordered a truck load of cow manure for her garden. That is exactly what it looked like.

Does a long reach have a heavier counter weight? That's a lot of leverage!
