I'd say it's certainly an exotic sounding tune for the time, a mix of latin and for me, Middle Eastern sounds. You even have early songs like 'St Louis Blues' with latin aspects. I'd say songs like Manteca are much more overt in the drawing on latin rhythms though.
Hoi Andy, are you using roundwound strings here and are you aware that your righthand fingers produce a squeaking sound because you strike the wound strings somewhat parallel to the strings? It would be good for my selfesteem if you wouldnt care about it! Its bytheway why i started using so called half rounds from Daddario. Groeten! Arjen
A slightly favour of song for this month! This one is a wonderful fusion of jazz harmony and Cuban rhythms. Link to the chart in the description. Andy
Another nice lesson thk u bro . 🎸
Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
Isn't "Caravan" by Juan Tizol the first Hispanic-influenced jazz tune? I may be wrong, but I always thought it was.

Hi, yes, aware of that. I really like rounds. I've tried half rounds and flats, but just prefer the sound of rounds personally.
