This has been incredibly useful, Lois. My favourite sketchbooks are made by Renesans in Poland ( ITALIA COLD PRESS 100% cotton paper - CARTIERA MAGNANI 1404 300 gsm) but it has been increasingly hard to find and I now use it for finished paintings rather than experiments. As I paint wet on dry, and am currently using Inktense and Carand'ache Neocolour wax pastels for Urban Sketching I am using sketchbooks with heavier paper such as Tiger A5 and Artway A4. They work well with ink pens, Polychomo pencils and Posca pens as they have no tooth. If they come back in stock in my favourite art shop I would like to move over to PORTOFINO HOT PRESS 100% cotton paper - CARTIERA MAGNANI 1404 300 gsm sketchbooks as they will be smoother than the cold press.

Thank you for showing all your sketchbooks, it is fascinating and was very useful. I started to paint landscapes only 1 1/2 years back, so I of course do not have many sketchbooks. And I must confess I do not use them often. First of all I never new whatfore and why to use them at all, but as I started, it felt good and I always was relaxed painting in it. I've used only A4 books until now, feel comfortable with it. Use it to practice sketching, painting, using colours and how to use them. Was also writing inside, what I liked and also what I learned from things went wrong :)) - this is the biggest part :D , Your video gave me a wider horizon using them more often and how to use different ones. Thank you so much dear Lois

😊I bought your book today and recieve it Saturday. Looking forward to it. I watched several videos of you and they all are inspiring. I do have to buy some brushes you use, especially the big flat one and then hopefully I can start a new adventure watching your videos and actually painting some of them. I would be very proud if I could manage to paint one a week in the beginning. Your productivity and constant loading up quality videos every single day is amazing. I have a problem with just starting, so I hope that your book gives me the possibility to start painting landscapes at my own pace and build me some confidence. There are so many teachers out there, but your contents make me come back to you again and again. Also your daughter's videos I like. I will let you know when I painted my first painting out of the book or of one of your videos. I use this comment to help me taking that first step😅😊Wim from holland.

Your book just arrived yesterday afternoon - what lovely paintings you've included! I'm excited to get started: my plan is to work through the demonstrations in a watercolor sketchbook. I often use the Kiliimanjaro travel journal (140 lb CP, 100% cotton paper), roughly 6" x 9", ringbound. Because of your tutorials, I'll also treat myself to a large mottler brush. What fun! Thank you!

Wonderful video, Lois, thank you for all that you share! I have several sketchbooks (I also love the Etcher), but I often stop after a page or two and seem to have trouble staying with it. I battle with fear of not doing something worthy of the 'irreversible' quality of a book, if you understand what I mean. I'm so encouraged to see that you paste in work with comments and ideas jotted down. It's a wonderful idea and a way to not feel quite so intimidated by a big empty book! Can I ask you how you glue or tape them in? They look so flat and secure. What do you use? Thank you again for your giving and kind nature!
