- Using this century-old technique, spinning copper over a wooden buck to create domes which are then soldered together making a sphere for pressurized air or fuel reservoirs. These are aeolipile components for Langley's Aerodrome #5, the first contraption that proved mechanical flight was possible (May 6th 1896).
