Love these tips! I've lived in Florida for 14 years, and I still learned some new tips from this video! One thing I will add is that sometimes water is not enough to hydrate you. If you are drinking a lot of water and still feel faint, you may need electrolytes. Gatorade, Powerade, and other electrolyte drinks can really help during those afternoon hours. I like to bring individual packets of electrolyte powder into the parks just in case
I agree with the Gatorade, I have lived in Florida since 2006, but I was born and raised in Puerto Rico… Florida is hell’s balcony like 8 months of the year.
as an aussie who is experienced with the heat these are fantastic tips. i tend to take some of the hydralyte to put in my park bottle to help you stay hydrated and helps if you dont like the water taste
We took EasyAcc fans based on an earlier vlog. What a god send! Please keep doing all that you do, we are so grateful for your outlook. “Be gone Chub Rub!”
Oh Gary that sunburn looked painful! Our tips if going with kids. Buy a backpack cooler from Amazon and bring gallon ziplock bags. You fill those with ice and they act as your ice packs for water bottles. This works best if you have a stroller since you don't have to actually carry it. Also, Simply Modern, hydroflask or Stanley cups if you fill with ice will stay cold all day long even in a regular park bag. We've never had issues with leakage with these brands. Sometimes you don't want to be bothered with a QS line when you just need water. The cooling towels are great, but if you don't want a soaked neckline then just dab your neck with one instead of wrapping it around.
I did the same .. when I went to discovery cove .. not thinking as I stayed in the water for hours .. but I got such bad sunstroke and was ill in bed for 2 days after . Your a lovely guy . I love watching u and Adam on ya trips .
HYDRATION IS ULTIMATELY IMPORTANT I'm sure Adam reminds you also, but I have found that the reason most visitors seem to feel sick after some time at WDW is they are not prepared to hydrate at the level needed. My friends that i lived with while working as a seasonal cast member pounded the concept into me as well. You have to start drinking water several days ahead of your arrival and don't stop. Don't drink when you're thirsty...just drink continuously. (and don't forget tovisit the loo often. haha)
Thanks Gary, I'm in a bit of a panic about my upcoming trip to Disney and the sun/heat after being diagnosed with melanoma and going through lengthy cancer treatment...we had booked the holiday before I found out and it has turned into a bit of a celebration of, well, me still being here to be frank! I will adopt all of your tips - I am a bit paranoid about using a uv umbrella, but i just need to get over feeling self-conscious! With sunscreen, it's also important to keep reapplying it throughout the day, every 4 hours or so (and always after swimming, as you say). Also, worth saying you can buy 'UPF' clothing that is specifically designed to protect you from the sun - good choices are places like Mountain Warehouse (not the height of fashion but it'll do to keep safe!). Love your content, keep smiling :D
A second shirt to change into and wipes (wet ones, baby wipes, etc) to wipe the sweat off and then add another layer of sunblock. Using the wipes and changing your shirt makes you feel like a new person!
As someone who lives in Florida I completely agree with all your tips. The cooling towels are very nice to have and you can get them cheaper on Amazon don’t buy them at the parks. Also never wear jeans to parks unless you are coming in December or January when it’s cooler in Florida.
I Gary. Just want to thank you. because you and Adam take a few minutes to take a picture with me at animal kingdom. I am the girl in a scooter, I was going to satuli canteen. It was one of my most amazing moment !!!
Great tips! I have lived in Orlando for along time and still not use to the heat. If you can, take a break from the park during the hottest time of the day. Enjoy AC and pool at your hotel. Love your shirt!
Thanks Gary, we have our fans at the ready for our trip in 2 weeks. I totally agree with the UV umbrella, we took one last time and it was a life saver. We actually named it the umbrella of life 💕
I love you Gary! ❤️🌹 Just another suggestion, now that I find myself living and hour from MK. Freeze two water bottles. Put them in the bottom of your backpack. Its cools your back, and as they defrost drink the icy goodness!
Thanks for the tips! I live in Hawaii and it's hot and humid here year-round, although not as humid as Florida, since it doesn't rain as much. I'm always trying to stay hydrated, and use cooling towels also, since they're cheap and easy to "rejuvenate" by swishing them around in the air.
Liquid talc is also great for thighs rubbing! I get the Asda little angels version! My hubby thought I was crazy but tried it when we were away last week and now swears by it. Another small win!
Amazing, thank you Gary 💙 one I’ve been using, not for the parks, but just of an evening. Put on a sheet mask over your face and sit next to a fan of some kind. Honestly, the relief and the cooling it gives really helps me at night time
The hydration tip is definitely a given. I recently had a mini vacation, and due to sensory overload, I completely forgot to drink enough. Luckily I remembered for the rest of the vacation.
I love the fan being set to Beyoncé!! OMG that cracked me up!! Thanks for sharing your tips. When I take my umbrella when it’s sunny hotter day, I always say, “Can’t forget my SUNBRELLA!” ☀️🫠
Make sure you cover your shoulders, knees etc if you are fair skinned like me (so no short shorts or vest tops) Totally agree with the need to take a break in hottest part of day- best time to have a nap, enjoy the resort, take a dip in the pool! You get more done feeling rested than just “go go go” and getting overheated and overwhelmed in my opinion!
Hi Gary, I bought YQXCC 2 Pack Cooling Towel (120x30 cm) for £8 back in Jan, (now £11) & they are marvelous! I had badly swollen feet that needed ice but I couldn't bear the pain from the weight of cold packs. These towels were ideal because there is no weight to them, and once damp you can shake them out and they regain their cool! Far superior to any ordinary towel, it's magic how they get so cold. Thanks for all your suggestions too.
Great topic! I prefer moisture wicking clothes over cotton, they're quick drying and breathable. Unfortunately there aren't any fun Disney ones. I also have some caps that are made of cooling fabric. Found some cooling socks. Cooling towels are great! Wave them around in the AC to make them even cooler, wrap them around your wrists to cool your blood. Add electrolyte powder to the water for extra hydration. I think I've found cooing sunscreen spray in the past. I'm just packing for Disney World and the Wish in 12 days so I'm gathering all my cooling stuff.
I was just at Disney World/Universal in July. MY crew and I all ordered handheld fans that look that ALSO have the mist feature (you can easily refill at any water fountain) AND and light feature. IT WAS CLUTCH. 100% RECOMMENDED. And take a sweat towel.
SPF long sleeve shirts are so thin you don't know you are wearing them, they dry fast, & they don't take up hardly any room in suitcase, and a sun reflective floppy hat that really keeps your brain cool. Wrap around sun glasses..Waterproof baby sun tan lotion.. Can then be in a Florida pool/beach all day long.
Darling!!!! Super Happy to see you Fabulous start by the way!!!... Living in Florida right now August YASSSS!!! it's 🔥 🥵 HOT right now!!!!!... I agree 👍 with ALL your tips Darling!.. the humidity 😫 is crazy! Please drink a lot of water 💧! Fabulous Florida!!! PS I can not wait until January, February!!! LOL! 😂🤣⛄️MUCH LOVE ❤️ TO YOU and Everyone! BLESSINGS 💛
Great tips Gary!! I am not a lover of the heat, so I just might need to get a fan, and umbrella for my next trip!! Love the content, and the delivery is next level…”let the weave breathe”just made me laugh.🤣🤣🤣 Thank you!!
Also before you leave your resort, most of the food courts have an ice and water machine so you can fill your reusable water bottle before you leave for the parks. If you get more ice in the bottle, as you refill during the day, it will cool the water and you can drink the water as the ice melts too. I swear by the Neat 3B Cream too. It also comes in a 100gm tub, as well as the 70gm tube you showed (well, in Australia you can get both sizes). I would recommend that you get a hat with a wider brim, rather than a baseball style cap. Why? Because a baseball cap does nothing to protect your ears or your neck from getting sunburnt. Something like a bucket hat would be a start, or something a little wider. Also, if you have issues with walking, don't push yourself. Just get an electric scooter (Gold Mobility Scooters is good, and will deliver & pickup at your resort and give you a quick less on how to use it). You will be able to last in the parks longer, and enjoy yourself more. The ones from Gold's also come with a cup holder for your refillable cup at the resort, a basket for your backpack or shopping, and an electric fan. They also have a charger so you can plug it in to recharge, as well as a couple of rain ponchos to help protect the electrics if it rains. I found it worked best to put the supplied poncho over the handlebars, basket and electrics and a thicker Disney parks poncho over myself, when it rained. Getting your scooter from outside, rather than trying to get one in the park each morning will save you possibly being too late and missing out on getting a scooter at all for the park. Also... it can be a long walk between your bus stop and the park gates! If you already have your scooter... you can just whizz by.
Can’t agree more on the hydration. I just came back from 2 weeks in Disney World, and waiting in line for rides is the perfect time to drink water, no one needs to be dealing with dehydration and heat stroke on vacation. Also bought that little fan on your recommendation and couldn’t go without it now 😊
Hi Gary, enjoyed your tips. I have my own tip......stay inside. I know, I know, that is no fun at all. Here in Pennsylvania, the weather has been in the high 90's a lot and just miserable. Then not only is it hot, the humidity, and air quality have been killer. I really have been nowhere so far this year. Maybe in the fall, I will venture away. I have suffered all summer with a chronic cough and I am tired of it. I guess my biggest idea to be honest is to stay hydrated. 🚰💚
These are amazing tips! I love how you phrased "Light and bright" for the wardrobe. Going to Disney next weekend and will replay this video before then. Thank you!
Sunburn tip from a Florida girl: vinegar will take away the sting of a sunburn. Yes, you’ll smell like an Easter egg for a little while but worth it. Do this when you get back to the room at night. We usually bring a little bottle with us. Or maybe ask if guest services can get some from the kitchen. Soak a washcloth in the vinegar and lay it on the burn. Instant relief. Love you Gary C!!!!!
Been once in June 🥵never again, we love Florida in November, catch the end of Halloween 🎃 and the start of Christmas 🎄 plus the weather is perfect 👌 Love you Gary C 💕 xxx
Just bought one of those UV umbrellas for my next Disney trip! My friend gave me a good tip - pack electrolyte packets to put in your water. It will give you a burst of energy and hydration. These have been a game changer for me.
I bought the 1, 2 Beyoncé fan last year for myself, I also bought one for my mum for Mother’s Day and yesterday my family was using it and asking where I had it from.
Just saw the Adam and Gary C video that Adam put up today. It was amazing. You two certainly looked like you had fun. The ship looked amazing. Can't wait for more of them .
100% this! Body Shops Peppermint foot lotion is my secret weapon! Every night before bed, I put some on and it helps my feet not sting in the morning from all the walking.
As a bigger girl I also have a cheap cheerful tip for chafing of thighs I swear by.....vasaline..sounds wrong but my god it helps in that heat its water resistant so stops the sweating like a cloud walking around. I do recommend shorts if u can get them if u wear skirts of dresses alot ! But wanna try this 3b cream !! Thanks Gary brilliant video x 👏
Great watch!! Thanks again! Thanks for taking time with our kids when we met you both! You are Adam are still the highlight from our hols. Much Disney love. Xx
Hello from Tampa Florida . funny thing I use the kids sunscreen too because I don’t like the smell of the adult one I find it to be to strong . I was in Orlando in July I have very sensitive skin I was applying sunscreen almost every hr and it work out Good I did not get burnt normally I only put it on maybe twice a day and come home looking like a red lobster.
Thanks so much Gary! Our summers in cold Toronto Canada are getting as bad as florida because we are surrounded by the great lakes we are getting longer humid heat waves. I love your umbrella tip & bought myself a little fan already & that is just to survive our summer lol
We looooove the Evian mist 👌🏼
Oh yes. We do!
My favorite is still when you took off your shoes and stood on the indoor bench to cool your feet. 😂😂🥰🥰
A classique!
Gary C, you are just the most genuine human being! You redeem my faith in humanity every time I watch you. Thank goodness for you!!!! ❤️❤️
Thank you so much 🙏🏻

If I was diagnosed, I would feel no shame about a parasol. My mother who was diagnosed spends more time in the sun than I would like her to
