Calli pretty much just went with her natural voice and I love it for this exact reason. They don't have to do anything extra, they're just using their voice as it's been to them for x years; it's more natural rather than made unnatural.

if i’m being honest, with the rigging on her character. it looks a lot better when she speaks with her “normal” voice. it doesn’t freak out with her mouth because she’s obviously forcing it and when you do that it puts strain on your mouth and neck.

(also I’m a southern dude who lives on a mountain with no city within 50 miles and I’ve hardly ever heard a girl with a high voice like she was doing at the start so normal to me) she do have a nice voice 😄
Coming back to this 6 months later, and I realize that she still does come back to the high-ptch voice, usually when shes excited, and its so friggin cute.

I just can't imagine having to allocate that mental bandwidth to maintain a persona like that. Her natural voice is attractive.
You would likely have to train yourself to use that new voice for months for even a slight shift. A lot of transgendered people are basically training for years, and it's much more difficult if you're training to go down in pitch. Makes the feat even more impressive for me.

Seeing this a little over a year later is kind of interesting, because it went from a strange high pitched voice, to the one I am used to. I am glad she was able to become comfortable with her normal voice. It is also cool to know that she can do other voices as well. :-)

ESPECIALLY Gura, her real voice is NOTHING like the character. Eventually all of these Vtubers are gonna get tired of the act and pursue casual IRL streamer careers, without a doubt.
One of the reasons I personally like Calli so much is because she doesnt do a fake voice. I think everyone should also read a bit about how childhood trauma can affect your voice that is if you want to know why an adult having a child like voice is off putting to some.
