"When you think about death many times a day, and understand that you will die some day. You will begin to cherish, and be thankful for every second of your life. Without anger, jealousy, or judgement. Only with compassion, patience, understanding, and love will we look onto others. We will see what matters in it's truest light." - Dametriese McPhie
Very very good, god bless you brother 🙏🏼
Thank you Lord for working through Jeff for your children.
I wish I could hit the like button on this video 1000 times!
Thanks for your ministry Jeff!
I would like to say that I LOVE Jeff and his videos. I feel he is really getting things done. I was however a bit put off as he made the statement about hoping everyone is Calvinist. Why does that have to be the case?
Because it is what the bible teaches.
That is one of several theories. This is not one of the essentials. This means we should more liberal with this and not too rigid. On the essentials Unity, Non-essentials liberality, all things Charity (love).
Tom Moody because presup apologetics is only consistent with calvinism. He's not saying it to bash those who don't hold to the doctrines of grace but to make sure everyone is one the same page :)
The Bible is not Calvinistic or Arminianism
Love it, thank you for the Godly wisdom!
Quick question, in the KJV, it says:
20 For from the creation of the world the invisible things of Him are clearly seen, being understood through the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.
Which version are you using. Thank you.
Jeff reads from the ESV

Actually there are millions of gods. You just happen to personally believe in only one.
Thats 3
@@fuzzywuzzy1355 Nope. Only 1 God. And He is Triune.
Hi I would like to start a apologetics course as I am very interested in it but I am looking for a class room discussion classes not online please guide me thanks
Cool
Hey guys, can I get a link to the source for Jeff's WLC quote? Got a friend who's a WLC fan and thinks it's bogus. Googled and UA-camd, can't find it. Probably need the exact quote. Thanks.
William Lane Craig was in a debate entitled "Does God exist." That's why he wasn't defending a specific God in that particular debate. The purpose is to narrow the scope of a specific debate topic in order to make your point or make your case. His Christianity is not in question by anyone who knows anything about him. The point of arguing first whether or not any God exists is to make that case and then further to make the case for the Christian God on the basis of the resurrection of Christ. Taking it One step at a time is not denying Christ or the Christian God.
coachmarc2002 Well said..I notice no one has attempted to refute your statement/clarification, because there is no effectivley refuting it..I call check-mate for you after that response
That's not how God was argued for in scripture. It wasn't arguing for maybe the existence of some God then working your way up to Yahweh. If I were ever in a debate with the title of "does God exist" I would at the outset of the debate let everyone know that I am arguing for the existence of the Christian/Triune God, not for some diest God. I would refer you the debate between Greg Bahnsen and Gordon Stein and compare that debate with WLC and see which was more consistent with how scripture tells us to argue for God.
There’s no excuse for a statement like that. When you argue for a “generic deity,” you aren’t arguing for the God
of the Bible.
Say you convince people of a generic theism? You have still failed as an apologist. Why? Because “generic theists” go to hell just as fast as atheists.
You are either defending specifically the triune God of scripture, or you are defending an idol.
O dear! You do know that the God of the Holy Bible is not like the gods in Islam, Hindusim, Buddhism, etc., right? Why is he even defending the gods of other "faith", to begin with - if he claims to be a Christian?
Um...anyone notice the orb at 52:03?
Where is part two?
Jeff is one of the most logical, convicted, and convincing defenders of the faith that I've ever listened to. I really enjoy his common-sense approach... Which makes it so ironic to me that he spends so much time passionately arguing with mormons, atheists, and the indifferent about their false doctrine/unbelief. What's the point in arguing your faith if you believe everyone is already predestined? It can't be soul-winning because that's not using common sense or logic. If everyone is predestined then what's the point in sharing your faith with anyone who is a non-believer? Wouldn't it be more Kingdom-effective to just edify the saints? Don't get me wrong, his street-preaching is on-point... But a Calvinist Evangelist just seems like an oxymoron to me.
Where is parts two? @apologia studios
Psalms83:18ASV"That they may know that thou alone, whose name is JEHOVAH, Art the MOST HIGH over all the earth." Note please that there is but one named JEHOVAH. Note also that this one is the MOST HIGH. Thus if ones God is associated with two co'equals (e.g the trinitarian Jesus). He is not the Lord JEHOVAH.
Can anyone provide an answer as to why atheism is not a rationally justified position?
The first commandment of being an TRUE atheist is “do whatever pleases you.” If this was the moral code for humans then moral code would not exist. We couldn’t have laws because the law makers would have to accept that no one HAS TO follow the laws since everything is relative. If one man believe stealing is wrong another man believes stealing is right, then how do you right a law for that? Atheist can never be rational because there is no rational ideas according to TRUE atheism. Atheists can never be justified because there is no TRUE justice system. Atheism can never be taken seriously unless atheist believers agree that there should be no law, no punishments, no requirements. If they require anything or set boundaries on anything then they violate their own rules and therefore would not be true Athiest.
The Bible says that Yahweh created us in his image. Is it possible that a different deity created us but not in its image?
Only if that other deity is a god who brings order out of chaos; who is an eternally-existing, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent god, outside of time. And only if that other deity creates in exactly the same manner as the God Who created us in His image. Otherwise, we would not be what we are nor would the universe exist the way it exists.
So you are saying it is not possible that a different deity exists which created us, and we in no way resemble it. How do you come to this opinion?
@@candicearlebemus9278 By the impossibility of the contrary. There is far more evidence for Christianity than any other religion.
How do you prove that it is impossible that a deity other than Yahweh created our universe? Or going farther with this, how do you prove that something that in no way resembles a deity or a mind is the true explanation for the origin of our universe?
@Shane Ingle Hey, where are you?
Is part 2 up?
'how do we know we know' an epistemological question 'god has spoken' an ontological answer
'we dont play word games' - this guy
According to the dictionary definitions of those words, you can absolutely answer the question of epistemology with an ontologically related answer. You're playing word games.
@@vibeauxssxuaebiv3489 what is the difference between ontology and epistemology?
why was that woman hissing at those cats? They may look like dogs, but they were actually cats. If she only woulda asked them how they feel, but she was too judgmental. What a hypocritical bigot she was being.

In Acts 17:25, it says that God doesn't need humans. It says that God doesn't need anything. Why did God create us, when God doesn't need anything?
Michael Within this beautiful earth that God has spoken into existence, He created man in his image to have dominion over all the earth. The complexity and beauty of the human flesh is derived from the likeness of Jesus Christ, Who also created the earth that we live. As even the plants and animals must bow to our Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus is the part of the Trinity which brought upon the phyaicallity of nature. Only God Himself can understand the complexity of the Trinity. But back to the question, it is an incomprehensible love that God has for us, even with our sinful nature.
Michael - that's simple. God doesn't need anything but there are things he wants. Need and want are not the same thing. I was taught this very basic concept as a young child. It's not complicated.
Michael, God created all things for His own glory.
I'm not a troll. I am a logical, open minded adult. I'm asking the question, what is humanities life purpose? According to religion, our life purpose is meaningless because, in any religion, God doesn't need anything. Why did God create us? Why did the big bang create us? Before you call me a troll again, why don't you provide a logical answer to the question, what is humanities life purpose?
I'm asking the question, what purpose did God give to human life?
A Christian that mocks those that disagrees with him. What a representative to god.
There a part 2??
I've only reached his first point so far. He states that he approaches apologetics with the idea that skeptics already know he's right, and they are just being dishonest about that fact. Or, have I misinterpreted what he said from 14:15 through 14:45?
Seemed pretty clear to me. And wrong. A common assertion by apologists at all levels.
Jeff has became many of your idols and you can’t even see it. You hear from Jeff and not Christ and don’t even know it. If The Holy Ghost was present or absent you would miss His presence and Jeff and his peers would continue you on preaching justification by grace alone and not realize they’ve never received grace which is only ushered in by The Holy Ghost. This just went as far as the east is from the west to Followers of Jeff. My only issue is Jeff is works salvation in all his Christian teaching and efforts because The Holy Ghost is not in him.
christianity as a religion is non complaint with the 10 commandments so this proves it is not from the 1 who issued the 10. Biggest religion on earth hardly the few who find the narrow gate. christians hate the messiah. all you have to do is quote the messiah and they will tell you not to believe him and do what he says. They do not obey of follow him
I've studied this view and it has one Major major flaw. I will only share with Christians lol
That's funny 😄
@@as-you-were8017 lol I'm serious though.
you spent more than half, of your presentation...to say...no one is netrual.....I think we got it....next point...
The reason rally who has no reason, no purpose 🤔
Jeff it's a bit embarrassing to take one of the most respected Christian apologists and make it sound like he doesn't even defend Jesus. You should repent of that attitude that came across in this video.
This is the most self-righteous, dishonest "defense" of a worldview ever, probably the worst Jeff Durbin lecture I've heard so far.
Self righteous? I think you need to watch the video again. Are you an atheist?
Next up: college course on earth being flat.
So, fundamentally, this argument is; One cannot NOT believe in god because... god exists. I hope that Durbin is not pinning his hopes on this argument working on atheists in general because it is extremely weak. Oh yes, but then, when the atheist attempts to inject reason and logic into your discussion, just say "So what!" This seems more like an attempt to keep believers in the corral.
False. His argument is one can not simply 'not believe' in God without at least subconsciously suppressing the truth that is naturally apparent. They could be suppressing the truth to the point of not being directly conscious of the fact, but even then it shows up in their implicit assumptions and inconsistent worldview. And this is the case not simply 'because God exists and therefore that's how it works' but it's the case because God exists, and God who is truth says that he is revealed to all men and that men suppress the truth in righteousness. It's true because ultimate truth says so, not because the existence of a deity somehow logically generates this certain specific conclusion (that your wording indicates).
Presuppositional apologetics are just so.... pathetic. Not only do they fall flat on their face under scrutiny, they're not even good at convincing anyone that isn't already convinced. The only thing they do is to shield people that already believe from criticism by shutting down conversation. Maybe that's what apologetics are for, after all, but it's certainly not a good look for Christians that this is becoming popular. It comes off as desperate, like a child sticking their fingers in their ears and screaming to avoid having to listen to someone else.
yellowpeteLoL I don't think you understand apologetics
Theology Matters Enlighten me! Apologetics in general is just the defense of some idea. In a religious context it's mostly about reducing doubts in people that already believe, to some degree also to convince others that don't believe yet. This particular style of apologetics is heavily tuned towards the first group, and is almost entirely incapable of actually convincing anyone from the second group. I think that is rather telling of some degree of desperation (i.e., the realization that the idea is really hard to defend under normal epistemic standards), but I'm open to hear where you disagree.
yellowpeteLoL so by your very definition Richard Dawkins can’t argue his point either.
@@truthseeker8073 yellow pete is just mad because his ancestors were fish. Pmsl
Lets see ... your trying to prove that a man was god. And your doing very well at it lol
I thought this was the True Apologetic. This is just Calvinist lie.
The problem with apologetics is that it shows non-believers that a Christian's faith really isn't based on anything.
And how does this prove that not only did this man rise from the dead, but that he also was the mind that created our universe?
Some believe we came from a rock, thats not only dumb it's dangerous.
Dill Doe the fulfilment of prophecy that predated him, the testimony of the apostles. The only thing needed to discredit the early church would be for the romans who crucified him to reveal his body and show he didn't rise, they never could. There is also the eye witness testimony of many who also had him visit them after his death. There is plenty of evidence. if this isn't enough then let me challenge you to read the bible old and new testament in total(or even just the gospel of john and see if it inspires you to read more, john isn't too long.) being raised Christian isn't enough. You will either have more information to feed your atheism or God will bless your hardened heart and reveal the truth. Theres a voice in you now telling you no, don't do what I challenged you to do. That is Satan, the father of lies. You can choose the easy route of satan and do as he says or you can challenge that voice and read the bible anyway. May God bless you, and bring you peace in this world.
The New Testament writers had the Old Testament and its list of prophecies in front of them as they were writing the New Testament. What is to stop them from making it fit. For example, getting Jesus in Bethlehem for his birth. Census? Really? Your ancestor for 1000 years earlier. Come on.
@@alexf6206 Everything you cited is the Bible proving the Bible, a fatally weak argument...grossly insufficient for anyone who isn't already a believer.
Why is the speaker so dishonest?
dishonest in what regard?
Why are **you** so dishonest?
what makes you think that?
