Not the wife, not my silly coworkers or in hopes of getting a compliment from some stranger at the local plaza. Rubbish all of it. Thank you for saying all of this. It is straight facts.😉👊🏽
Let me tell you my story. I have gotten compliments on one fragrance only ,out of all the niche and designer brands I own... it was 6 dollars body spray.... that's all I'm going g today. $6!!! And yes those were compliments from the opposite sex and complete extrangers that even today , my wife remembers them with a bit of discomfort, some where said having her next to me ... $6!!!
Thank you, thank you and thank you! I just got into the fragrance scene and I felt like a lot of UA-camrs were trying to sell this stuff like it's magic dust that will get you x,y,z things in life. This is so completely true! I have bottles for certain occasions only due to memories. La Nuit D L'Homme is my bottle from 2010. I wore it on my wedding day and honeymoon. I wear it only for fancy dates with my wife. That being said, I wouldn't have some of the beautiful scents I own without getting mention from UA-camrs. These people did teach me about seasons though. Yes, you can wear anything at any time, but Bulgari Man in Black hits different in 90F heat than Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue does. I wouldn't have thought of that. Before I started down this rabbit hole a couple of years ago, I had 2 bottles, my YSL I mentioned above, and a 2011 bottle of Burberry Summer. Well, the Burberry was my go-to. Even in December. UA-camrs are helpful to open my eyes to the fragrance world, but I'm smart enough (due to finances) not to follow their every word.
La Nuit de L'Homme is my after evening shower fragrance. It soothes me and gets me in the mindset to wind down and get ready for bed. Easily my most worn fragrance.

That comment about when your ex wife comes home and you haven’t done the dishes had me in stitches. I totally agree there is never a bad season to smell of a fresh fragrance.

I wear it two days straight and I catch frequent wafts continually. Performance matters, but scent profile and quality are king.
I agree about everything that you say. Fragrances are a fun hobby but we shouldn't stress about and put them on a pedestal. The only thing I don't agree is the summer/winter thing. Most people would prefer a scent that was warming or heavy in the winter and would prefer light scents in the summer. @@TinTin-ov6cg I took an extended break from him and probably missed a lot, he deletes his videos quickly which does suggest you may be right, remorse and drug abuse often go together!
I scan youtube for heads up about new fragrances and for an idea of what's around pretty much so i know what to ask for when I go to look for a new smell. The only compliment I've ever had in relation to fragrance was when I was 20 and a mid 40's woman was trying to crack onto me at work lol. I was only wearing JOOP at that stage.
True story: I was at a cast party, and my now wife came up to me and said, 'Hi. Excuse me, but I just had to come up and say how nice you smell. What are you wearing?' We had briefly seen each other before, but never really had any communication before that. That was 21 years ago. Now, while I admit that was likely just a line/icebreaker, it worked. Sometimes people just need a reason to start up a conversation, and the sense of smell is powerful.
Pretty spot on. I would add: - If people know you are a fragrance-reviewer, then they know its safe for them to tell you that you smell great. So if Jeremy`s regular bartender tells him he smells great, then he prob does, but also maybe a case of people saying what they think you wanna hear? - If Im talking to a woman that looks like a serial-killer, then Im not gonna say a word even if I like her fragrance 10/10. Because she might interpret it as romantic interest. And women are even more careful about that stuff.
I feel like this video was made just to go against the grain and is aimed at an older demographic. Every circumstance is different. When you’re older like yourself, then all of this could be true. For example, are you going to wear spice bomb extreme at a 4th of July bbq ? 😬 ladies love a man put together and smelling good is a very attractive quality that adds to that persona. While compliments can be superficial, I can never get enough of hearing them. 😊
Controversial topic. Excellent worthwhile video.Very well intentioned points. Not all in my experience are accurate. Compliments? You do get them. ideally based on event, fragrance and your age. Do they get you laid? No. But they do inspire a conversation that may lead to more. Depression? When a loved one died I was depressed for a while. Dressing well and a good fragrance helped my mood. Of course, that was me and that's no solution. Seek help. Most UA-camrs are indeed enthusiasts and nothing more.
Yes you can wear your fragrance wherever and whenever you want, you can also wear a three piece suit to the gym or a barbeque, and sunglasses at night. It doesn't mean there aren't better times or places to wear them
This was my first time seeing you. UA-cam recommended this video. Finally the they got one right. This was a great video and I like your humor too. Thanks for sharing and cheers.
Excellent clip! 🙃 It's very rare that I actually watch an entire video from a fragrance reviewer without getting bored. Concise, informative and tackling fundamental questions. I'm getting bored of watching videos of "top 10 fragrances for compliments", "top 10 beast 👹 mode fragrances" or "top 10 winter fragrances".... 🥱😒🕢🕗🕘😴🧻🪠
How distressing. You mean it doesn't count as a compliment when my wife tells me I smell nice. Sadly, then, I've never received a compliment for my cologne. Oh, the tragedy.
After getting into collecting fragrances about a year ago, and being a 55 year old who only wore Aramis and Polo original I came across fragrance reviews. I will say itopened my eyes that there was something else out there. Blue fragrances, green fragrances and orientals. The first purchase was Aqua Di Gio and I was impressed. I will say that some of the reviewers I can’t get through the 10 minute video, but guys like Justin Copeland and Darrien i love to watch. I’ve had my eyes opened to niche orientals like Amouage and Argos.I’m glad I found these guys because they gave me more insight than I had.
I disagree with you in the spouses opinion. Your spouses opinion should be the ONLY ONE that matters. If you seek compliments from any woman other than your own wife…stop it.
Generally agree but feel performance and sillage are an issue. Some fragrances overperform and are really nauseating/irritating indoors and in close quarters.
The realest fragrance video ever! However, I don't quite agree with number six. In my personal experience, fragrances helped me through very tough time of stress, trials, and tribulations. I found it to be very therapeutic. I salute you for being very candid 🫡
Thanks! I appreciate this video. I just got into perfumes but I never really understood what people meant by stuff like "summer perfume" and "winter perfume". I am from India and typically people bring in ME temperature with our summer hence "Oud this" and "Oud that" will last much longer than others.
Hey Dan, that was just spot on. It is exactly how i think about fragarnces and youtubers... Also, you forgot to mention the biggest one of all: if you want fragrances, forget cheapies and designers, niche is what you MUSt have. That is totally garbage for me. I dont own a single niche fragrance, and the ones I had the chance to smell is, it made me hate the concept even more... Thats my taste and im ok with... ;)
@@MrSmelly1977 youtubers will also tell you not to blind buy everything and that you don't need all these fragrances, but then pretend that they "had to" blind buy a full bottle of something (which they're going to try on paper and maybe wear once) "for the channel".

This guy is speaking the truth, many of the UA-camrs on fragrances just talks nonsense, specially those who says you won't smell unique, what people must realize is that any new fragrance on the markets is going to be bought by millions of people, what I'm saying is not only one person is going to by a new fragrance that came out, every fragrance old or new does its job and that is to make a person smell nice, yes not all are the same, but you buy what you like and you and enjoy what you find suitable for you, not everyone is going to like a certain fragrance, but I know that anyone who wears a fragrance smells unique, so buy a fragrance of what you think is right for you, not what a UA-camr suggested, yes there are fragrances that doesn't project that well, but who cares as long as you know you smell very nice, people can smell you smelling nice, but many will not compliment you, but who really cares.
i ussally wear fragrance cus i like to smell greate for my self. Dont give about what others think really. Been rocking a cheap but banger vanilla tobacco fragrance this summer.
This man is speaking facts! How many of these “Panty dropper” “women killer” “compliment god” etc videos are we going to get from this “experts”???? I’ve had enough of that
I will say that some frags bring massive compliments. Any time and almost every time I wear Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme I get them from complete strangers. Oh, and Layton
I sell fragrance, and I use Sauvage daily :)) internet says Sauvage line is boring the DNA is everywhere, etc. Believe me, there are not too much people wearing fragrance so I just slap Sauvage on like a white shirt and black pant. I do change the smell but sauvage has never been boring to me
Don’t agree that fragrances can’t improve your mood. I can definitely get a little uplift from spraying a fragrance that means a lot to me, such as ones that remind me of deceased family members, take me back to good experiences etc, I have pillow sprays that calm and sooth me.
I mostly agree about the season comment. If you like it wear it however I can see a rationalization that I might not want to wear an aquatic in the winter unless it is an ice aquatic. LOL Also I can see how some frags might not last as long in warmer weather due to skin reacting to the heat. Good video though, thanks!

So right! Buy what YOU love to love to wear and not become a compliment junkie. BTW, your frags are amazing! I have all but the new one and am off to get that one now!
Thank you so much! I really hope you love Gravitas Essentia!
Great video and I so hate it when they say “it’s for this or that season only”. 🙄
Thanks for keeping it real, Dan! 👍🏻
If it weren't for fragrances we wouldn't have the daily spectacle that is Jeremy Fragrance
True!
Cocaine is one helluva drug..
@@TinTin-ov6cg I took an extended break from him and probably missed a lot, he deletes his videos quickly which does suggest you may be right, remorse and drug abuse often go together!
They are also advices for those who start to be obcessed about fragrances like me..totally true..Thank you
I scan youtube for heads up about new fragrances and for an idea of what's around pretty much so i know what to ask for when I go to look for a new smell.
It doesn't turn a L into a W but it definitely has always grabbed me more attention giving more opportunity
Pretty spot on. I would add:
- If people know you are a fragrance-reviewer, then they know its safe for them to tell you that you smell great.
This just got you a follower👍
I feel like this video was made just to go against the grain and is aimed at an older demographic. Every circumstance is different. When you’re older like yourself, then all of this could be true.
For example, are you going to wear spice bomb extreme at a 4th of July bbq ? 😬 ladies love a man put together and smelling good is a very attractive quality that adds to that persona. While compliments can be superficial, I can never get enough of hearing them. 😊
FANTASTIC reminder, despite the click-bait title. Thank you, good sir.
Love this video. When watching any of these opinions I take it under advisement. Try for myself and see what works or doesn't. Love your honesty
Thank you for the honesty.
The opening of this video , I thought was absolutely hilarious and clever . Keep up the good work !
It doesn't mean there aren't better times or places to wear them
bingo!

This was my first time seeing you. UA-cam recommended this video. Finally the they got one right. This was a great video and I like your humor too. Thanks for sharing and cheers.
Thank you very much! I appreciate the support
Thanks. I don't have frags for seasons. I wear what I like and the time I want. I wear frags to smell nice around and myself never for compliments.
Exactly. I live in the tropics and I whatever I feel like wearing
You are a cheeky fellow. Really enjoy the reviews. How is the Gravitas line going?
this video open up my horizon.thank you 😊
Great vid! I was saving TF Tabacco vanile for the winter, no more!!
Straight up truth bombs.
The best one in the fragrances comunity. Great video
You really hit the nail on the head .
Love your humor and presence but I absolutely believe most of these
Wear it for YOU first and foremost
I agree
Hey Dan, that was just spot on. It is exactly how i think about fragarnces and youtubers... Also, you forgot to mention the biggest one of all: if you want fragrances, forget cheapies and designers, niche is what you MUSt have. That is totally garbage for me. I dont own a single niche fragrance, and the ones I had the chance to smell is, it made me hate the concept even more... Thats my taste and im ok with... ;)
Love how you put this video. I’m definitely a new subscriber.
BUY FRAGRANCE SAMPLES HERE IN THE USA & CANADA: www.myfragrancesamples.com/
I LOVE encre noir extreme and i wear this juice all year round even in the summer and it never offended anyone
Great video! Just subscribed! Love some grownup straight forward passion without the BS💥💥
Not a lie as such, but some youtubers behave as though the important thing is to *own* the fragrance rather than actually regularly wear it.
Thank you.
@@MrSmelly1977 youtubers will also tell you not to blind buy everything and that you don't need all these fragrances, but then pretend that they "had to" blind buy a full bottle of something (which they're going to try on paper and maybe wear once) "for the channel".
I love this guy, he saying the things I’ve been saying to my self,I but whatever fragrance I like and I wear them all anywhere and any time,my only issue now is that I’m addicted to buying fragrance lol
Thank you!
A truth teller. Subscribed.
I did not expect Eddie Hearn 😂
The compliment thing is always funny to me because while I have had quite a large amount of compliments they have always been from other dudes or my current girlfriend/wife. Women aren't approaching men to compliment their fragrance even if you're fairly attractive
I like your honesty in all these BS from so called “experts”.
Randomly came across your video... had to pause and write this comment after watching 0:29 literally made my day! Thank you Sir I might be back for more
This guy is speaking the truth, many of the UA-camrs on fragrances just talks nonsense, specially those who says you won't smell unique, what people must realize is that any new fragrance on the markets is going to be bought by millions of people, what I'm saying is not only one person is going to by a new fragrance that came out, every fragrance old or new does its job and that is to make a person smell nice, yes not all are the same, but you buy what you like and you and enjoy what you find suitable for you, not everyone is going to like a certain fragrance, but I know that anyone who wears a fragrance smells unique, so buy a fragrance of what you think is right for you, not what a UA-camr suggested, yes there are fragrances that doesn't project that well, but who cares as long as you know you smell very nice, people can smell you smelling nice, but many will not compliment you, but who really cares.
How is Spice and Wood?
when I looked at the Creed Lineup it was one of the ones I was Interested in.
i ussally wear fragrance cus i like to smell greate for my self. Dont give about what others think really. Been rocking a cheap but banger vanilla tobacco fragrance this summer.
are there fragrances specifically for youth and for adults ?
This man is speaking facts! How many of these “Panty dropper” “women killer” “compliment god” etc videos are we going to get from this “experts”???? I’ve had enough of that
I will say that some frags bring massive compliments. Any time and almost every time I wear Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme I get them from complete strangers. Oh, and Layton
i love the music in the end what's the name? sound very familiar.
Going to London next month where can I try your frags
This guy is brilliant.
I do have some perfumes that I can spray 5-6 times and never smell them again the entire day
Someone has to call out the UA-camrs. Thank you kind sir!!
Thank you.
