I am happy these good folks finally achieved peace of mind by taking a walk on the adgenda being crammed down their throats by the ecclesiastical evildoers. (I took my walk on the Episcopal Church U.S. four decades ago over the same issues, and that has been one of the really good decisions of my entire life.) Although I am not Methodist, I deeply emphatize with folks going through this spiritual agony. Keep the Faith, Brothers and Sisters, walk away and leave the festering carcas of leftist [seudo-religion to bury itself. You will achieve joy by being away from all the struggles it is bringing you. Blessings upon you all !

Just gave my GMC son in law Pastor copies of 2 Ravenhill books. I read them and Tozer annually. Revival starts with me! Stop trying to be entertaining to the masses. Seek the face of the Living God!
The more I listen to talks about how the GMC will operate, one red flag that gives concern is the "accountability groups" that are to be implemented. Having read up on how in the early Methodist church these groups could become rather abusive in nature, and also it sounds awfully similar to the failed "Discipleship Movement" (Shepherding Movement). Such groups still exist, but under different names. How is this sort of abuse and overly controlling going to be avoided in the GMC accountability groups?
Whatever "abuse" there is the potential for, it is always the case that it is possible for it to be happening. In any church. But it doesn't mean we don't have church and Bible studies.
There are plenty of good female clergy who are spirit-filled and Biblical preachers. Do not judge us by our sex, and do not cluster us by our sex. Judge us by our fruit. There is a reason this is a Wesleyan tradition!
The standard of judgement is not by sex but by the Word of God. An elder must be 'the "husband of one wife" (1 Tim 3:2). Females don't qualify for this.
