Mike and Ginger get their first taste of Amira Willighagen, performing Nella Fantasia.
There are female singers all over the world who are good at singing, but even among them, Amira is not a singer created by humans. People are fascinated and get goosebumps and shed tears. Amira is special.
Amira is the best female singer I have ever met and is a woman of great natural talent and kindness. Amira sings like an angel and the moment listening to Amira's pure and beautiful voice is blissful and eternal. from Japan.
You have just witnessed perhaps the finest soprano singer on the planet(in my opinion). She is a mere 12 years old at this performance When I first started listening to Amira I would always have a box of Kleenex handy, but recently I gave up on the Kleenex and now use a bath towel instead. There are many more performances that will also blow you away. May I suggest O sole mio duet with Patrizio Buannne. She is also 12yo is this performance, Enjoy your journey into the world of Amira.

I keep coming back to this performance time & again, not only because I’m totally in love with Amira, but to see Ginger’s beautiful spontaneous & genuinely surprised expressions. Simply gorgeous Ginger.
Will you both re-watch this video & take particular notice that Amira is never out of breath & whatever range she is in, it’s done so EFFORTLESSLY. That last high note lasted for eternity, but she didn’t need extra air when finished. Remarkable.

You got onto the wagon late. Amira now 16, now resides in Potchefstroom, South Africa and is still a school-girl. You should hear her "Caruso" casually performed in a music shop while buying a piano. No fancy dress or make-up. Just a teenager in t-shirt and denim . But what a performance!!!!

She will blow your socks off. Also her other Classics is Groot performances like her O solo Mio duet with Patrizio Buanne, her Flower duet with Corlea Botha, her Hallelujah solo, her Gabriella,s song and many more, are all jaw dropping. So do yourself a huge favor and watch them all. Amira and her stunning voice are truly OUT OFF THIS WORLD STUNNING and UNIQUE. O before i forget, also check out her Iceland performances when she was just 11. Your goosebumps will have goosebumps. I promise, you ain't see nothing yet.

I’m so glad that you want to react to more of her performances, as myself & literally “ millions” of her fans/supporters cannot get enough of this beautiful young super talented Soprano, who, in many opinions, will become the best a Soprano of all time.
For a 12 year old( not 14) to possess the qualities of a seasoned performer is absolutely incredible. Amira not only has a powerful voice with exceptional range, she she has perfect voice control & a vibrato so beautiful which normally can take years to perfect.
And another astonishing aspect is what era eg she is in, she does so EFFORTLESSLY without straining & she is never out of breath.

Just noticed in your video at the end showing other video's is on with Amira on the ground. It was when she made through the next round. and dropped to the ground. Feet and arms up and tongue. I believe like a shocked goat. It was hilarious. She was 9 years and wiped the the others with with over 50% of the votes, when it was all done. I loved it because she got to have some extra fun, that only a 9 year old could

Nice reaction! Amira was 12 and a half then, in November 2016; and she's singing Italian lyrics here. It was a wonderful, astounding performance - one of many she's done! Amira seems to thrive with the big occasion - this was singing in front of 8000 people at a series of concerts in South Africa.

At the ripe old age of 10 she performed O mio babbino caro with the world famous Andre Reiu and his Strauss orchestra...and it moved many in his huge audience to tears.....and is probably among the best performances of that operatic masterpiece that has ever been done

After her first perfomance in "Holland got talent", a judge said "I want a daughter like you". We all want Amira for ourself but we have to let her go and grow, and share her with the rest of the world

My favourite song she did is Gabriellas song, it's a Swedish song but it's beautiful. My favourite singers in the Netherlands are Floor, Amira and Glennis Grace. But we're very lucky to have so many great singers in our country.

You might like Nessun Dorma (CIG 2017 version), Gabriella's Song (in Swedish), How Great Though Art, Amazing Grace, and O Mio Babbino Caro. Amira sings in around 11 languages and is fluent in Dutch, English and Afrikaans. She also did a medley from Sound of Music.
You said that she was 14, but she is 12 here, Either way very beautiful. You might check her try out to see were she started with no lessons. Then 7 months after she won with Andre Rieu were she did a full version Omio Babbino Carro. Huge audience and not a dry tear in the audience. Nice reaction

This was at the Afrikaans is Groot concert in South Africa. She lives and studies in South Africa now, her mother is South African.
The music is by the great maestro Ennio Morricone, it was originally titled "Gabriel's Oboe " and is from the sound track of the movie "The Mission" (1986). Two sets of lyrics have been written. The first was "Nella Fantasia" in Italian by Chiara Ferrau in 1998. The second is "Whispers In A Dream" with lyrics in English written by the New Zealand soprano Hayley Westenra in 2012, as a hymn for World peace. Both sets of lyrics were written with Morricone's permission (he produced Hayley's album "Paradiso" which contains her version). Check out Hayley Westenra another outstanding talent ( Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Pie Jesu" from a concert in Auckland in 2002 when Hayley was 15. One of the purest voices you will ever hear).

I presume the implication is that this is the fantasy of the missionary which provokes enormous irony. It is the most incredible live performance by a child singer ever recorded. A "surprise" performance in front of 10 to 20,000 people outdoors. She received and explosive standing ovation with many in the audience in tears.
Make sure you select the video from Andre Rieus' own channel. It has over 44 million views on you tube and is the only one with high quality sound. All the rest are poor quality sound recorded on cell phones from the audience. Keep a box ot tissues handy. You will swear its an adult trained singer and not a real,y tiny young girl singing better then most adult performers live.

Been following Amira since Holland Got Talent. She is one of those very rare, talented singers, who is not only good technically, but manages to make you feel the emotions, just like Floor Jansen does. I was in tears again. Not ashamed to admit it.
Nella fantasia is Italian, BTW, and is from the movie The Mission - music is by Ennio Morricone.
As an aside: Amira did not have any formal music training, and she taught herself to sing arias and opera, from UA-cam. She is from a family with musical background, but with instruments rather than singing. After winning Holland Got Talent, she actually did get a vocal coach.

I thought I recognised the song: it was originally the instrumental theme music to the film The Mission (1986) by Ennio Morricone. Sarah Brightman then asked (persistently pestered, to be more precise) Morricone for permission to turn it into a song, and eventually, he let her.
