@@olavwilhelm6843 It's really not that hard, dude. Ducks are awesome pets and it's much easier and cleaner to keep an indoor duck than it is to have a dog. The only drawback is that it can be kind of a pain finding a proper avian vet who has experience with treating ducks.😊
By the way, they didn't misuse "kudos". They used it in the proper context. So can it already, nobody likes a pedantic snob.

Ppl who are NOT allergic to chicken eggs MAY BE allergic to duck eggs so please be careful when trying them. It can be the same with goose eggs too, bc they are different from chicken and duck eggs.
Always be careful when trying new foods bc you never know what might happen. Don't be afraid of trying new things just be careful.
They're good as ingredients in a recipe, but they're a lot richer.
They say the difference is like skim milk (chicken eggs) compared to whole milk (duck eggs).
I saved a duck from a flea market, he shared a back yard with 3 dogs and a tortoise. He loved my tomatoes and when he was a good duck I stopped at the bait store and got him some night crawlers.

@@woodstream6137 I’d assume they regularly produce eggs for the same reason that chickens produce eggs (less frequently though). It’s just their equivalent of menstruation. I do wonder about the hormonal drive since I don’t have much knowledge regarding that. However, I know that duck mating is apparently to forceful and violent that makes and females are in a sexual arms race against each other, I will not elaborate further.
My cat brought me a lone duckling a few months ago. I still don't know where he got him. He was being so gentle with him. He's pat him on the back with his paw. Wasn't trying to eat him at all. Just wanted to give him to me. So wild

Though a cat growing up with another small animal can learn to not see them as prey.

Raised a lone mallard duckling who apparently was separated from mother and raised it to adult. Never tried to domesticate him, finally released.

She doesn't look like a Muscovy duck, at least the ones that were all around my moms neighborhood in Pembrook Pines, Florida, your girl was a gorgeous duckling and now a beautiful adult. TBF, she might be a domesticated Muscovy duck which have somewhat of a different plumage then the non-domesticated variety

I think that's why the have the waterproof blankets. Easy to wipe clean. But still that would be a lot of work.

I have a Crow, and the poop issue is challenging. I think that a duck shits as much if not more than a crow.
One of the reasons this duck should have been taken to a wildlife center with the goal of releasing to the wild. Ducks are meant to be in water, not an apartment.

As a kid I had 3 ducklings and raised them till they were grown and I let them go at a park with a lake and they loved it and I'll never forget how much joy they brought to my life.
