It amazes me how the pilot can just toss that plane around and the plane responds so gracefully. We have nothing that even comes close. Russia can stand proud.
sorry to be off topic but does someone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
This is by far the best video of the SU-35 that I have seen so far. Great close up shots. I like to hear the sound of the jet, instead of silly music like in so many similar vidoes .
INCREDIBLE MACHINE WITH RUSSIAN ENGINEERING AT ITS BEST!BRILLIANT PHOTOGRAPHY! AS I WATCHED SU-30 & SU-30 MKI PERFORMING IN INDIA AND AS AN INDIAN I AM IMMENSELY PROUD TO HAVE RUSSIA AS OUR BEST AND ONLY FRIEND FOREVER!
Ohhh!!! What a Fighter, what a great pilot!!! Looks like a wild horse, and it's rider - like a King who dominates above the skies... GREAT video Mr. Khmelik! Congratulations!
Неподвластны физике!!!Инженеры наши..вам просто браво!!!!Какие же вы молодцы!!!Россия живёт только вами и вашими разработками!Ребята не останавливайтесь,у вас получается на 5+))))
@88mroux yes it is. the su-35bm is the awesome version, the su-35s is the export version. when su-37 no 711 crashed in 2002, the tests were done and the su-35 came into production
Also, The first Su-27 variant with TVC was a Su-27UB designated "T-10-16" or the "LL-PS" (flying testbed - flat nozzle), built by by Sukhoi in 1989 and the first production fighter with TVC is not F-22, it is SU-30MKI. It was introduced on 27 September 2002. F-22 was introduced on 15 December 2005. F-22 uses very simple square 2D TVC that can move only in one plane. It doesn`t have issues with big pressure and heat like other US axisymmetric nozzles, but comes with great weight penalty!
@AndraxxusNephilem On the subject of flight manuals, sure would like to know which version of the Su-27sk flight manual you're looking at. The one I'm reading has no mention of turn rates. I found mention of the loadout and fuel load you mentioned with your turn rate stats, but it related to dive pullout performance.
I thought it was superfluous to give numbers because it is more than obvious that in area I listed SU-35S has advantages. But as you wish. I will give you official numbers from sukhoi for SU-27SK. It is important to notice that SU-35S can carry more than 2 tons of fuel, has 4 tones more thrust, has refined aerodynamics with smaller rudders and ventral fins (less drag), has new FCS and TVC, new electronics, optronics and radar.
LEVCON has similar role like canard but without negative "down wash" effect on the wing, which is the case with canards, it doesn`t have bad influence on RCS and It also helps in restoring center of lift which oscillates when translating from subsonic to transonic and supersonic area. PAK FA also has TVC, so you see, maneuverability plays very important role in a new Russian stelt fighter.
Despite the advantages provided for this aircraft in the dogfight, this type of maneuverability gives the aircraft a good opportunity to avoid missiles too! In my opinion, maneuverability is far more important then stealth capability.
@88mroux the su-35 of the 20th century was the su-37, the su-37 was the prototype for the su-35, and the canards are supposed to add extra maneaverability, but the su-35 has some design improvements and it doesnt need canards
Used in conjunction with a Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS) the pilot can present the towed decoys to the missile before it reaches the aircraft about 140 degrees off the nose. With DRFM replays of the missile seeker head emitted pulses, decoys can be very effective at making the missile track away from the aircraft. And than you have maneuverability. MAWS are made with a reason. Reason is to give the pilot chance to DETECT AND AVOID the missile, otherwise what is the point of MAWS
The fact that the Russians subject their fighters to such stress structurally during these flights obviously is a testament to their agility in design. I could watch these fly a million times and love it every time.
Compeletely agree with you, I think zoom levels in 2009 video was better, even a slightly more zoom out is welcomed. Man, its already in HD, if we want to see the details, we can always zoom in later. Still, IMHO, this is the best maks 2011 Su-35 video on youtube.
@88mroux yes, bort # 901 and # 902 are su-35bm, they are the only su-35 that the public saw in any airshow, the other 20 are in the VVS, but ya they are 35bm

@tht1drnkrussian PIlot school eh? What type are you flying? What's its critcal alpha and standard approach speed? What's the maximum load for the type? What's the stall speed at 10,000ft? What airfield you at? What's the frequency for the airfield's ILS and what's the headings of it runways? What are the standard calls for that airfield?
What type of equipment? Camera Or dedicated video we are thinking? Please let us know on our channel Look up "vampire cat warmup video " to see something cool Wondering what a panasonic fz200 2.8 would look like at 120fps HD SLO MO CAN BE BORING IF TOO LONG, especially with no music
@FXWorldBeater You are likely looking at the file says "САМОЛЕТ СУ-27СК" on the first page. Also from the same "source" you obtained them, you should have a second file with loads of performance comparison with F-15, F-16 and Tornado F-2. Note that these G datas are lateral Gs not overall.
Those little wings are called canards. They provide additional lift thus increase maneuverability. But they also increase RCS (Radar Cross Section) so the jet is easier to be detected. So now there's only some variants that have canards, namely Su-30MKI/MKM,Su-33,Su-34 and Su-37 tech demonstrator.
In Seoul 2001, the 711 could do almost everything, what a TVC fitted aircraft can do, but without TVC system. This No.711 aircraft crashed in 2002, when the right stabilizer broke down. The reason was the lot of high over g load, what this plane got in its last 7 years. This new Su-35BM or Su-35S is a totally new concept. It has more thrust, less weight, far better FbW and a special TVC system. This is came from the Su-30MKI/MKA/MKM family. Actually it is a 2D system, with a 3D capability.
I suggest you read an article or two about the application of the vector thrusting and you will see it's far from pointless. It's not just about high G turns. It acts as an extra rudder and hence provide the ability to avoid a high G turn and "cut" your opponents path. The limiting factor is the human (~9G) so you can't increase it any further.
Indeed, an amazing jet! There are 6 of them right now and by 2015 there will be 48 of them and in a few years from 2015 number raises to 90. Contracts are signed.
Also safety in the sense of less worrying about exceeding max AOA is extremely important in combination with min possibility to overshoot and max opportunity to make opponent overshoot you in various combination of maneuvers. And dog fights usually finish at low altitude and speed. For example EF took a snap shot at F-16 at DACT exercise at 0,46M pulling only 1,8G. F-18 took snap shot of an F-22 at 0,36M at 1,7G.
Regarding price! According to figures provided to the German Bundestag on June 15, 2004 by the German Ministry of Defence, total cost to Germany of the Eurofighter program is 21.3 billion euros, of which 5.87 billion euros for development and 15.4 billion euros for procurement of 180 aircraft. Editor’s note: These figures work out to a unit program cost of 118.3 million euros per aircraft, and a unit procurement cost of 85.7 million euros (including subsystems) per aircraft for Germany.
What people neglect is effect of TVC in conventional maneuvering and maneuvering at high speeds and altitudes. TVC reduces trim drag in the way that control surfaces don`t need so much negative deflection that reduces lift and makes extra drag. For example, at supersonic turn EF with TVC would have 14% gain in lift, 9% gain in DPS at sustained turn and lower drag values! That alone is enough to defeat another EF without TVC, not to mention low speed handling and nose pointing.
First of all I am not a kid and I was in war with your country and I for a fact know that some of our pilots in a broken Mig-29 without any situacional awareness avoided couple of AIM-120 just on a count of seeing a smoke trail of the missile, before they were hit by another one. This is a reality combined with what I am talking about in mathematical equation. And for the second time, have a nice day engineer!
@88mroux this is su-35 bort #901, i think its a 35bm, idk maube a regular 35, one of the two...but su-35 bort #902(with a cool black, gray, silver, white camo paint design is the 35bm through and through, hope it helped!:)
How is this possible?...Incredible Su-35 Piloting Physics Photography...!!
It amazes me how the pilot can just toss that plane around and the plane responds so gracefully. We have nothing that even comes close. Russia can stand proud.
That's a really beautiful bird.... Russians did great job making this bird so pretty and perform so well.

Советский Союз готовил отличных инженеров, которые создавали отличную технику
Maneuverability and speed are mere afterthoughts these days. It's all about the radar it's packing and how stealthy it is.
Best jet video I have seen, especially when you consider the SU35 weighs about 25 tonnes.
Some of the BEST flying ever done. Wow!!!
No other plane in the world can hold a candle to what this plane is capable of.
Excellent video with a beautiful and amazing sukhoi su-35. Great job!
what an easy take off and landing! beautiful plane.
Nice blue flames, the raptor is glowing trying to make the same manuvers .

GOOD job PILOT! and the videographer! :)
Beautiful, graceful and deadly.
Saludos desde Mexico ..simplemente impresionante.
I think that in the history of military aviation, no other fighter has looked as fantastic as the SU-35 does. Gorgeous aeroplane

Fantastic!!! Super Free Style in the Air! Thanks for this Aeronautics Masterpiece. Incredible manouvers.
I. Newton rolling in the coffin)) Awesome aircraft, awesome perfomance ))
This channel has the best footage of MAKS on youtube, can't wait for MAKS 2013 when we hopefully get to see T-50-4 :-)
That was amazing, best display I have ever seen by any jet.
Замечательная леталка.
Im Canadian and talked to Canadian pilots who fly the cf-18 they seem to be very excited about the f-35.
I understand nothing about aviation, but damn - this looks incredible!!!
excelent capture my friend of an excelent aircraft
This plane is a monster.
8:25 awsome!!!!
Makes them to create new names for impossible manouvers...
Great video and outstanding flying skills, thanks.

That's the pride of Russia there. world class engineering and piloting. even the F/22 can't match that maneuverability.
7:34 это нечто!!!
NAJ PIĘKNIEJSZA MASZYNA NA ŚWIECIE.
Impressive video shooting skills! What camera are you using?
Favorite plane ever!!!
Outstanding manouvers!
Is this an upgraded version of the Su-27 or is it a new airplane all together?

Это венец нашей авиации) Действительно впечатляет)
We were talking about maneuverability, but when all this fails then there is BVR and AIM-120D! But let me tell you something about that.

Whats the deal with the downward facing nose? Not hating, jw. Extra lift?
