I wanted to like this show but 🤷🏻♂️ just how the plot was Idk . it’s a shame that birds of prey wasn’t good because that show had some potential . but sadly this show was D.O.A before ever airing
They know that Batman has canonically died hundreds of times possibly thousands when Joker got 5th dimension powers. Superman has died seemingly at least 10 times. Just about every Robin has died at least once in one version or another.
Scarecrow was alluded to in the first crossover that Batwoman was in ( her introduction to the arrowverse). Barry & Oliver are effected by his fear toxin and begin hallucinating while in Arkham.
Your Barbra Gordon comment is how they handled Batman's disappearance in the Harley Quinn Cartoon. Barbara has to take up the mantle as Bruce is badly injured.
You could say they kinda wanted to make her like Jason Todd in a way. “Lesbians dying in cinima” is that really a trope that’s an issue? Also they really should’ve just killed the character off instead cause how exactly are they going “bring her back” when she’s found? I doubt that they could just find another actor who looks like ruby Rose and pass it off as something they planned in advance which they obviously did not. Basically they shoot themselves in the foot on purpose and are failing to look smart about it like they knew what they were doing. Just my opinion.
Hey Vee Sacercrow has been established before in the crossover that introduced that woman he was in Arkham and Green Arrow and the Flash were affected by his fear Toxin and Batwoman stop them from killing each other and sprayed the antidote on them because Supergirl was off somewhere else so she couldn't stop them.
06:15 - "I'm sorry but spoiler alert here, Everybody Dies" "I'm gonna take my time, Everybody Dies...and I'm the man, the one to make you, fall in line... this killers come to life and... Everybody Dies!" I now expect to see Jake Roberts appear as Scarecrow in the new season.
Jake The Snake as Scarecrow would actually be pretty cool, but if it's in the batwoman show it'll most likely be bad. Yes I know the Jake Robert's thing is a joke
Spoiler: Gotham curse; all bat family has gone missing. We find out in season 3 that they have all been captured by aliens and we get to see the entire bat family. Sadly since this show will be cancelled in season 2 the final season 3 wrap up will have to be animated. (LOL)
The thing is, this show actually works better as a Red Robin show than a Batwoman show. I mean, the idea that Bruce Wayne isn't around in Gotham is basically the reason Tim Drake becomes Red Robin.
I completely agree with this dude and when he was naming all of those characters that could better replace Kate Kane I thought of a really cool idea for the CW. What if they made a Gotham knights show and every new season is a self contained story following a different hero of Gotham or the bat family like the first season was batwoman, the second season could follow batwing, another season follows the huntress, then Cassandra Cain, then, Renee Montoya etc and it goes on. This way they don't necessarily have to recast or replace batwoman just go on to the next hero .
But right from the start, the show runners wanted an original character. They wanted "Female Bruce Wayne." Whatever name they give the character, it will end up being an original character, because that's how their writers operate. They're finally being honest about it. Good.
As a writer myself I absolutely agree with you're arguments. These idiots clearly have no idea with what they're doing and season 2 will be an unfettered, unqualified bloody disaster.
As someone who is gay, I really like and respect your view. I really dislike it when media all but waves a pride falg 24/7 and claims that is some forward thinking character. Sure people are gay, equal rights are an issue that still persists. There are other aspects to a person other than being 'gay'.
They likely cannot do Helena Bertinelli since she's been in Arrow's early seasons and this show takes place in the same Earth as Arrow. She was played by actress Jessica Gouw.
While I was worried about your Batwoman videos it's clear you know what you're talking about and have a lot of insight that isn't just eye roll strawman takes.
The main problem with the change and the new OC character is this: the two main plot lines that had meaning: alice (HER SISTER) wants to kill her, hush became like bruce wayne (HER COUSIN) and the crow head chief (HER FATHER) wants to kill batwoman. All of this is connected to her by family is now ruined because its not kate kein. Imagine this: at some point the crow chief gets the upper hand on batwoman, he wants to know who she is before he kills her, he takes of the mask and he realising the woman he was out for, the woman he wants to kill is HIS DAUGHTER. The whole plot had meaning because it was family. Now that they making an OC character it doesn't interesting anymore
One thing that really makes the producers defense of the not killing off Kate as "we're not fridging the gay character" fall apart is that they aren't replacing her with a non gay character. That cliche, which dates back to roughly the 1950's with films like SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER and LAURA, was based on the idea that the gay character had to be killed so that the "natural order" of heterosexuality could be maintained. It's clearly a slur on the LGBTQ community, but it fails as an argument against killing Kate off because, as I mentioned, no one has accused the showrunners of replacing her with a straight character. Everyone knows that this mysterious "Ryan Wilder" is going to be a gay character, and nothing has been said to make us think otherwise. It's a truly baffling argument to make when really they should be coming up with a better argument as to why they aren't doing the most logical thing and JUST RECAST THE CHARACTER! The audience is not stupid we would accept a new actress as Kate a hell of a lot easier than this convoluted mess of introducing a completely made up for the show character we know nothing about and have no reason to care about.
I'm not even a fan of the show but the drama between Kate Alice and there father particular her father Jacob was the best part of the show and really what season 1 felt like it was building up to a big confrontation between the three. Now they can't do that. I really don't think any of the shows actual fans will stick with it now cause the show is essentially rebooting itself. I might watch it just for a laugh.
Scarecrow's toxin was used in the 3-part Arrowverse crossover Elseworlds. It was also used in a Batwoman episode near the midpoint of the season. Helena Bertinelli exists in the Arrowverse and at least from what I can remember is in prison after a skirmish she had with Green Arrow, unless Oliver Queen managed to "fix" that little detail when he died during Crisis and was rewriting aspects of his show's history. As far as what's next, this shows doomed to fail simply by way of its "creative" team's ineptitude at crafting a simple coherent story is still in charge and Greg Berlanti's determination to double down on his moronic ideological politics. Recasting a new lead/original character is basically trying to stop a gushing stab or bullet wound with a band-aid.
WB/DC are very protective of batman. im guessing greg berlanti was given of list of bat characters he could use and ones which were off limits. this is probably why batgirl, huntress, renee montoya, and cassandra cain werent used. also all of which were recently used in a movie or has movie in development.
To have! Because if it is! I hope this time if the Fans are going to mobilize this in order to propose an annex series. With a synopsis and characters who are consistent
What they could have done is even have Ruby take on a smaller and lighter role as Kate. Introduce the new Batwoman with Kate training and mentoring them. But maybe Ruby didn't want to do this, for person reasons or otherwise. Or they didn't like this idea. Or it came down to the green.
When I started watching the arrow verse shows, I knew that one day they'd make a show about Batman or one of his companions, and I was really hoping for a Nightwing show
Just nitpicking, but Scarecrow has actually been referenced in the Arrowverse previously, in the Elseworlds crossover, when his fear gas shows up during the Arkham Asylum breakout sequence
16:03 freaked me out for a bit. Cause for a moment i thought someone took a picture of my bookshelf. And yes....mostly Batman stuff. Oh and you are missing the important Batman book...."Batman and Psychology". Cause what book that doesn't talk about Batman if not a book dedicated to dissecting his mind and personality. To further learn about him.
Now that's a hell of an idea. Renea Montoya becoming a Batwoman, i would watch the shit out of that. One of the few characters i wanted to see more of in BTAS.
While they could have used characters from the comics, which was probably the better route to go, having an original character means they can do whatever they want with her without worrying about the character's comic book back story
Scarecrow's fear toxin was used in the Elseworlds crossover. Unfortunately, the show slowly started to get better throughout the season, so it's a shame for the story to take a massive turn like this. Hopefully, Kate Kane is just going missing to give them more time to find a suitable replacement for Ruby.
I'd say add Tarantula but I don't want them ruining her like they most likely will. I also agree with your points on Cass Cain (her appearances in the War Games run is my personal favourite), but it's another case of do you really want these writers ruining her further?
How to solve the representation problem (how to distinguish good from bad in other words): Don't talk about it. If a showrunner/movie or game producer talks about the representation in their products it most likely means they just put it in for good press. That they don't actually care about represantation. And in these scenarios they treat their minority characters as symbols and aren't allowing them to grow as characters. Jessica Jones has some of the best representation. Because it never called attention to the minorities most of its characters represented.
I think that if they had chosen a pre-existing character to replace Kate, fans would've complained too. For example, "Why are you making Helena become Batwoman?! That goes against the comics! Because of this, we won't have Huntress in this universe!"
I mean, everything in the show already goes against the comics: Kate's background is completely different, the reason she becomes batwoman is different and the way she get her gadgets is different. If she wasn't called "Kate Kane", it would have been a completely different character...
Yeah, for some reason CW is making new characters instead of using actual characters from the comics. Hell, most of the new cast added to Legends are original characters who didn’t even exist in the comic or name only like Zari.
Legends isn't a comic accurate show and it's a good thing because whatever they do with those characters won't ruin everyone's taste . Look how they massacred Oliver ( No offense to anyone who likes this version but he's basically a Walmart Batman)
Marwan Ali yeah, but the main characters are from DC. The villains from the first two seasons are from DC. Why change everything. It’s good to be silly, especially for rating reasons but still
Season 1 truely great!I hope the 2nd season twist will explain where or what happen to Kate? And if her character will be portray by another actress or another woman who will puts the costume beside Javicia Leslie?
Kate got recasted, now is played by the fan favorite #1 option, Wallis Day. Somehow after the plane accident; Kate survived but her face got scarred, and now survives as a homeless under a barbershop.
No Season 1 wasn't great. It was just a repetitive loop of Kate trying to get Alice to stop killing only for Alice to keep on killing and instead of knocking her out and jailing her she just let her go. And Season 2 is just Ryan whining that people criticising her for reasons unrelated to her skin colour is somehow racism, refusing to get a Kryptonite bullet wound treated, a weird magic flower that heals when women bleed on it, Luke Fox getting shot and saying he'd rather die than live in a world with racism, a leader of a group of assassins having a crush on Alice and other stupid shit. And oh yeah Kate getting burned and scarred in a plane crash, getting plastic surgery to explain the recast and being brainwashed into thinking she's Black Mask's dead daughter.
I stood by the show as long as I could. But if they can’t understand that Batwoman is Kate Kane’s story, and end up replacing her with some random newbie OC character, then I am done watching. They should have just recast her and continued with the story they started. But nooo. Worst decision ever.
To me a big factor of this season or the dc shows not being as good has a lot to do with them doing crisis on infinite earths as the crossover cause after it ended the shows did episodes that pretty much made them halt the shows seasonal plot and deal with versions of characters that shouldn't exist cause of being from earths that didn't survive the crossover and one major plot hole of season one was not explaining what happened to Bruce that made him leave Gotham cause it doesn't sound in character to just up a leave Gotham for no reason cause of being batman being so important to Bruce what most people don't know about batwoman is that Katherine Kane original reason for existing when she first appeared in the comics all the way back in issues #233 in July of 1956 was to be a love interest for Bruce to try and stop the batman and robin are gay lovers thing but she was forgotten about once batgirl was created but she still would get appearances from time to time over the years and not all appearances of batgirl she has been a red head out of the suit cause u showed the version of Barbra from the 3rd season of the 1966 batman series Yvonne Craig wasn't a red head she used a red wig in suit to better hide her identity another big season one issue that ruby eluted to was thdm not stressing hard enough for her to let them use her stunt woman cause we have heard about ruby getting hurt so bad doing a stunt that if she moved the wrong way she would wind paralyzed overall the first season wasn't that bad it just had few hiccups and some bad execution of the writing and the taking one aspect of a character and making it the major focus of the character is an overall arrowverse problem not just a batwoman problem
*No no not Cassandra Cain!!! ANYONE BUT HER!!!* I do think that she'd be a good fit for this show and it'd be easy to introduce her imo with her walking into Gotham as she has a flashback to a scene reenacting the panel where she says she's loyal to the Bat and not Bruce to establish her history with Bruce and the City, but I love her too much and dread to think what the CW would do to her. (;ŏ﹏ŏ)

when batwomen said the line in the trainer " i'm not gonna let a man take credit for a women's work" that whole line just made me not gonna watch the show because to me it would feel like someone is trying to push a point about feminism rather than focusing on saving the world
Same, that line was atrocious
For me it was the dialog The suit is literal perfection then Kate says It will be.....when it fits a woman. That was apex cringe for me.
I gave the show 4 episodes. It was painfully boring.
Yeah that's the whole show
Ok so.......season 2 is green lit that’s pretty much it end of story ain’t gonna be a season 3 ,4,5 etc NO! . They try to make super hero shows on the CW hmm only good ones in my opinion that lasted a very long time but not without some issues was obviously smallville & arrow nothing will compete with those shows because they were good .
Even Dick Grayson can't avoid a comic death
Batgirl Cassandra Cain died like 3 times in her own comic book

I think using Huntress could work since she already exists in the Arrowverse. Her becoming a hero could be something of a redemption arc for her
Scarecrow was alluded to in the first crossover that Batwoman was in ( her introduction to the arrowverse). Barry & Oliver are effected by his fear toxin and begin hallucinating while in Arkham.
Your Barbra Gordon comment is how they handled Batman's disappearance in the Harley Quinn Cartoon. Barbara has to take up the mantle as Bruce is badly injured.
Simply the ultimate warrior would saying
"Querring dosnt make the world work"
You could say they kinda wanted to make her like Jason Todd in a way.
Yesn it's called Bury Your Gays.
Eh, sometimes. A fair amount of shows or movies will kill off gay characters out of nowhere.
I love Stephanie's hair it's wavy, bouncy & curly.
Great video. Every suggestion was infinitely better than what the actual people working on the show could come up with.

I now expect to see Jake Roberts appear as Scarecrow in the new season.
(LOL)
Mary Elizabeth (her step sister) should the new Batwoman. You can keep the same cast, keep the story going and I like her. The actress is adorable
No no no no no.
Her real sister should become Batwoman.
Hell I would even watch that clusterfuck.
@@strugglesnuggledslime7040 alice as batwoman sounds both hilarious and terribly great.
Nobody expects a bat to stab them
Isn't Mary Elizabeth her HALF-sister? They have the same dad, I thought.
The thing is, this show actually works better as a Red Robin show than a Batwoman show. I mean, the idea that Bruce Wayne isn't around in Gotham is basically the reason Tim Drake becomes Red Robin.
The Elseworlds Crossover had a reference to Scarecrow when Oliver and Barry were hallucinating. Also, who did the Joker voice at the end?
Might've been the same guy who does the Hulk Hogan and Macho Man voice in the end of wrestling videos
No wait, her name is Ruby Rose? Like from RWBY? That’s cool.
It is kinda funny. The one from RWBY would make a much better Batwoman.
Scarecrow's fear toxin appeared in the Elseworlds crossover and caused Flash and Green Arrow to fight each other because they were hallucinating
"Unmentionables" 😂😂
Good.
A Gotham Knight show I was thinking the same thing just a few weeks ago
15:50 - "I don't ever wanna dislike anything Bat-related"

I really want to see a Scarecrow story done right at some point in the future.
As a writer myself I absolutely agree with you're arguments. These idiots clearly have no idea with what they're doing and season 2 will be an unfettered, unqualified bloody disaster.
In a shared universe, i.e. her and SG being fast friends, Kate's disappearing wouldn't go unnoticed.
It's nice to see a different take on it like vee's
Clips from Batman Vengeance nice
Huntress was already in Arrow
Your point is?
@@j-money2295 she had a whole character ark, retired, and has no ties to this version of Batman
Michael Madness It still could work
Skip Crow was mentioned in the arrow verse... The Flash and green arrow were dosed with Fear toxin from When the Flash missed his target...
Being the best part of the show isn't much to brag about
Because it’s based primarily on virtue signaling and “social justice” and not on production quality/plot development, just like the first season
The Scarecrow was mentioned and had his fear gas in Elseworlds.
Scarecrows fear toxin was shown in the elseworlds crossover
Scarecrow was shown to be in this universe via his Fear Toxin
makes sense, Ruby Rose kinda looked like Jonathan Crane from Batman TAS.
I don't think the writers understood or really read the source material.
Whoa... BoP definitely did not execute an accurate representation of the canon Cassandra Cain!!😮😮
In the comics Batwoman did replace Batman for a year, the storyline is called 52, this is her debut in that continuity
Love it Vee
Very well phrased!
How did you get Mark Hamill to voice Joker for that outro? If that isn’t, then he’s dead on!
WB/DC are very protective of batman. im guessing greg berlanti was given of list of bat characters he could use and ones which were off limits.
this is probably why batgirl, huntress, renee montoya, and cassandra cain werent used. also all of which were recently used in a movie or has movie in development.
I mean scarecrow was mentioned in elseworlds with the fear gas
Great video!
Season 1 has already failed. What do you expect from season 2? xD
More failed
To have! Because if it is! I hope this time if the Fans are going to mobilize this in order to propose an annex series. With a synopsis and characters who are consistent
I only knew Batwoman from the movie Batman:Bad Blood
That's where I learned of her too. Then I looked her up more and her character definitely has the potential to be interesting in a TV show
Batman MISSING
Batwoman MISSING
OTHER FUCKING BAT FAMILY MEMBERS MIGHT NOT EXIST
What they could have done is even have Ruby take on a smaller and lighter role as Kate. Introduce the new Batwoman with Kate training and mentoring them. But maybe Ruby didn't want to do this, for person reasons or otherwise. Or they didn't like this idea. Or it came down to the green.
When I started watching the arrow verse shows, I knew that one day they'd make a show about Batman or one of his companions, and I was really hoping for a Nightwing show
Better yet red hood
She got her combat training from the Matt Foley Martial Arts Academy!!
Scarecrow was referenced in elseworlds with the fear toxin being shown in Arkham lockup, but I think that’s about it
Scarecrow's fear toxin was used on Mouse, but I think that's it
Just nitpicking, but Scarecrow has actually been referenced in the Arrowverse previously, in the Elseworlds crossover, when his fear gas shows up during the Arkham Asylum breakout sequence
the insane thing is they do have an in series reason to change kate kanes face and they are ignoring it. its crazy
My favorite character was Alice and her relationship with Kate. What do they do with her now?
16:03 freaked me out for a bit. Cause for a moment i thought someone took a picture of my bookshelf. And yes....mostly Batman stuff.
Oh and you are missing the important Batman book...."Batman and Psychology". Cause what book that doesn't talk about Batman if not a book dedicated to dissecting his mind and personality. To further learn about him.
Now that's a hell of an idea. Renea Montoya becoming a Batwoman, i would watch the shit out of that. One of the few characters i wanted to see more of in BTAS.
And now they confirmed they're bringing in Renee Montoya for Season 3, played by... the same actress that played Montoya on the Gotham show
While they could have used characters from the comics, which was probably the better route to go, having an original character means they can do whatever they want with her without worrying about the character's comic book back story
The only representation that should be on screen is the correct one that a character is based from, which this show doesn’t do
I'd say add Tarantula but I don't want them ruining her like they most likely will.
I also agree with your points on Cass Cain (her appearances in the War Games run is my personal favourite), but it's another case of do you really want these writers ruining her further?
How to solve the representation problem (how to distinguish good from bad in other words):
Don't talk about it.
Helena is already in the Arrowverse, as she was in the first season of Arrow.
@@DrGregoryHouseIT Ah, really? I mentioned her because she was listed as a candidate.

It’s good to be silly, especially for rating reasons but still
Also did Vee really use clips from Batman Dark Tomorrow
Good eye yes he did that game was under rated for it's time
Where are those Cassandra Cain clips from?
Young Justice
10:20 LITERALLY THE FIRST PERSON I SAID WAS HUNTRESS, THEN I WAS LIKE “Nahhh, cause we already had Helena Berteneli” BUT YOOO, SAME WAVELENGTH!!!
In my wet dreams we get a The Spoiler series, on which they just say-Yeah batmans dead- and it's just Tim Drake putting up holograms of bats
I´d say, that Sara and Ava from Legends of tomorrow are way better representations then batwoman.
Well we have different opinions! And that's alright.
4:41 Well, la-dee-frickin'-DA!
I stood by the show as long as I could. But if they can’t understand that Batwoman is Kate Kane’s story, and end up replacing her with some random newbie OC character, then I am done watching. They should have just recast her and continued with the story they started. But nooo. Worst decision ever.
Ruby wasnt gay enough, and Kate wasnt brown enought...
I didn't know there was a season 1
*No no not Cassandra Cain!!! ANYONE BUT HER!!!* I do think that she'd be a good fit for this show and it'd be easy to introduce her imo with her walking into Gotham as she has a flashback to a scene reenacting the panel where she says she's loyal to the Bat and not Bruce to establish her history with Bruce and the City, but I love her too much and dread to think what the CW would do to her.
(;ŏ﹏ŏ)
Everything u said in this is pure facts
so batwoman is going to just 'go missing' like batman did? real fucking creative guys...
and you know that some newspapers criticized Batman because he left, right? I bet there won't be any newspapers criticizing Batwoman for leaving.
I have never seen Batwoman but from what few scenes this video has shown, I have to thank Vee Infuso for giving me a couple of good laughs. Bullets not affecting the suit? Maayyybe possible. Bullets not affecting the cape? Lol. Also person with short black hair decides to use a long flowing red hair wig along with the already troublesome costume and uses only 1/4 of the cowl just to let everyone know that its a Bat"WOMAN"?
