  • 🌺 “Raghuveera Ranadheera in the raga Huseni”, a beautiful composition of Saint Tygaraja, rendered by by Dr. M Balamuralikrishna (BMK) is an excerpt from a programme of AIR Vijayawada aired on 14th March 1964.
🌺 Here BMK is accompanied on a seven stringed violin by Sri.V Sethuramaiah and Sri. Umayalpuram K Sivaraman plays mridangam.
🌺 The veteran violinist Sri Annavarapu Ramaswamy, in one of the recent interviwes, talking about Muraliganam, said, “It was Balamurali who brought to the fore 'Raghuveera Ranadheera...' and made it popular. While singing it, 'Raghuveera Ranadheera raara.....', he gestured with his hands that people looked as if the Lord had come. What it means is, when he sang, he would do so looking at the pictures in the lyrics. That is why the kirtana appears different in his rendition. Unlike, that there are some notes being sung to some tradition. He would sing looking at the form in the lyrics. That we don't see anywhere else. The form that is in the lyrics...is there not a picture in the sound? He was a great artist who was able to look at that (form) and sing, that was not something many would be endowed with.”
🌺 We are sure that this presentation, will turn back the wheels of time and you will find yourself enjoying this as you once did, listening to it on the radio.
