I can't get enough of you. the way you teach and explain your technique is easy to follow. You are generous with the information you share compared to other locticions. Thank you so so much because I really want to learn
I love how informative you are and that you share solutions even for the Diy'ers. Some SL techs and community members come off very clique-ish and you do not. 💜
Aww, thank you. This is more than just doing hair and making money. This is a journey for me and the more informed people are, the more in love you'll be with whom God created you to be. I want us to change our mindset about our hair and see it for what it is BEAUTIFUL
I appreciate this video. Thank you for going through the different types of slippage. I had slippage at the root of one of my locks. I knew it was slippage but my consultant swore up and down it was new growth. LOL. It was a little more than an inch of loose hair at the root and all of the locks around it only had 1/4 inch new growth. It bugged me that she didn't want to admit there was slippage.
Thank you so much, I've had my DIY micro locs for about 6 weeks, I use extension hair from the root, and I noticed that within 2 and half weeks my hair needed a retie, so I am assuming that is slippage, right. I actually did two reties wishing one month because it was crazy loose at the root. Now, I am waiting to do a retie at the 2 month mark and hopefully I won't have any issue. I plan on cutting the extensions when my hair gets a bit longer.
Very informative. Love your detailed explanations and visuals. Thanks for sharing!☺️ This is off of the subject, but I have a question for you. When is it safe to use a deep conditioner after shampooing? My guess is once the locs are mature. I live in a dry state and swear by deep conditioning. I do put a leave-in conditioner with water in a spray bottle and that does help.
Thank you🥰! Yes, you definitely want to wait till your locs are mature to deep condition it. Once you can shampoo and use a rinse out conditioner on your locs and not experience unraveling then you know it's safe to deep condition. I say this because some people are completely locd and still have curly ends. Hope that helps.
Great information. I got my install in December and I have a loose curl pattern . Not much slippage except my edges. Also I have more than an inch that was left open. Will this be an issue of my hair locking?
Good Morning! Could you please tell me should I use a locking shampoo on new micro-loc? If so what kind/ name brand shampoo should I use and where do I purchase it, please..Thank you.
On wash days, make sure to bundle your locs before washing (only use shampoo, no conditioner at this time). Make sure locs are completely dry before taking them out the bundle.
I experience the same issue even with bundling. I even went as far as blow drying my hair to ensure it was dry thoroughly and still experience slippage 😑
What do we do when slippage happen but it’s not time for a retie? I just washed my locks 3 weeks in and I have about 10-12 lock that has completely slipped. Should I 2 strand twist? Or make an appointment with my loctician?
I would move the appt up and go in sooner. If there's no availability, then two strand twist them until the appt. Make sure that you are braiding and banding your locs before shampooing your hair.
I experience alot of slippage after shampoo, can you explain why this keeps happening?? I follow all steps and supplies my loctation provided and slippage still occurs. I try not to get frustrated but it is very frustrating
With thin hair, you definitely want weightless oils. Best lightweight oils are safflower, sunflower, jojoba, avocado, hemp oils, etc. I have oils on my site made specifically for locs: lightweight and won't create buildup or leave residue on the scalp (check them out entoibeauty.com/beauty-%26-wellness-shop/ols/products?page=1)
Hi it’s me again hope all is well with you my slippers start’s from the root all the time since I started this loc journey in 2020 and I started blonde now it’s at my ends but I still have slipping in the front and on the side just a few but still!!! Not cool to me Thinking about learning to do my on hair ….
I would love some help I live in a rural area with no loc techs. I work 10 hours a day and it's too difficult to travel I don't want to give up but I don't want to ruin my hair

You certainly can learn to maintain it yourself. Some people find it therapeutic

Not at this time. But you can try @locsbykedma or @locvibesstudio. They're both on Instagram and do great work.
