And in So Beautiful we hear thunder, see lightning and there's rain when Mito comes. And then tied up Ian singing "There are clouds in disguise (I know) I'm always terrified They might just rain on me." He's not talking about actual clouds but more like the 'clouds' are the low moods that someone is feeling and 'in disguise' means they're holding back. In a live ian said that the blueberries are a trigger and he's having a panic attack. The pills he's taking are sleeping pills and when he's asleep he's Lucid dreaming that's why in the end he wakes up and everything he takes the pills it turns into weird cartoon type visions. The blueberry monster can be ian in the future bc in a live ian says that Mr insanity leaves a letter for him in the future basically saying that he's going to go insane. Also the blueberry monster has the eye necklace and the pocket watch that ian has in mood.

This was so fun! It was interesting to watch "No Blueberries" again because that was the first song I heard by DPR IAN, and a friend had showed me the MV. I remember I had a nightmare that same night, and the blueberry monster was in it 😂, and then I didn't revisit DPR IAN's work until almost two years later ! For a while, he lived in the back of my mind as "that Korean Australian guy whose MV gave me nightmares, so I need to be ready to absorb the impact of his visuals..." lol. Later on, I feel like his music touched me when I needed it most (as these things tend to happen). 💫 I appreciated the final comment about the trifecta of DPR IAN's music quality + visuals/storyline + truth/lived experience. I agree that I find the combination extremely compelling, and it's been interesting to observe how people interact with his art in different ways. Some people may find certain aspects of that trio more engaging or appealing than others, or maybe someone will be drawn in first by, for example, a viral dance challenge and song, and then they'll learn more about the lore and truth of things. 🤔 I was recently telling someone about DPR IAN, and after I mentioned bipolar disorder and DID, they said in an overwhelmed tone of voice, "That sounds like a lot..." and I realized that maybe I should've started them off with the "cool music videos" point instead 😅. Last, I think the best way to explain DID to someone like rj in a way that makes more sense than saying its multiple people in one body, which yes in a sense is true. in a way rj is somewhat right that mito is an extension of ian, but because of his DID he has formed a full identity from childhood. ian uses the broken mirror to symbolizes it, each glass fragment becomes its own mirror and function separately but all the pieces together make the complete mirror. So each of his alters are their own person yes, but together encompass all the parts to him.

Yes each alter is different and independent from one another but they're also all parts of the same identity (can't find a better word for it). It's a person who had to compartmentalize its identity to be functional , not completely different single people in the same body. All alters are parts that if put together make a complete being. In the song "no blueberries" I remember that Ian mentioned that when making that song he related blueberries to things or people you don't want to associate with, so when making the video of his story, he interpreted the blueberry monster as If it were Insanity, that's why Mito goes into action when the blueberry monster wants to get close to Ian, I always thought it was something like that, which could make sense, because at the end of the video, the dessert is vanilla, the color Yellow is one of the colors that represents insanity. The match represents fire, Mito is in a certain way invoked by fire, if I remember correctly Ian said that fire and thunder represent Mito. Well, that's my theory of some data, but now I have the need to want an interview where he explains the meaning, hahaha. I loved when your friend said "maybe the blueberry monster is murdering everyone and they're framing him" that's exactly what I thought and Ian confirmed it live, he didn't exactly say that in his own words but he did say that Insanity had tricked Mito.
