DBrunski125 reviewed this video and you can find it here! Interesting banter! What do you think? ua-cam.com/video/TroTzCSFaE0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Dbrunski125
I liked his review had valid points on a few things for sure. For the helmet enigma replacer imagine this Use sur-tir-cham - give it 1 to skills/level 12-17 meditation aura/MANA after kill/teleport charges or skill/ increased MANA like 10%/cannot be frozen/and maybe 15%Fcr or 30%fhr or 15% all res. It would open up act 5 merc to have an option for meditation aura if you really needed it. You could run the ultimate support pally with max prayer/plague/this helmet for a 3 prayer synergy cleric build. Or you could wear the helmet yourself.
Enigma helmet seems like a good idea. Charge + teleport charges seems also like an interesting alternative to enigma. You charge to move for the most part and use teleport charges to go over walls. If you think teleport is still a lot faster, you can buff the speed of charge (by giving the speed a multiplier from increased movement speed mod) and make it to only collide if your mouse tagged the enemy (ie if you just keep hold mouse on ground, you will not charge into an enemy). There can be a mid rune level runeword that give charge and tele charges. Not sure how it would mess up charge in pvp though.
New uniques or upgrading some existing uniques to be endgame options is also way overdue. This will spark new interest and will make players that have already found all of the items want to find them again.
@@umutyasar2784 Yes, it always seemed so wrong that such rare items were so underwhelming. TM should be the absolute best armor to have at least for a specific build, now there is no case that it is the best choice and it is the most difficult item to find. This does not make sense. A simple Heart of the Oak and Spirit that everyone that has played for a while has is much better that Mang's Song Lesson which is ridiculous.
This is one of my favorite videos you've made....I really like these ideas. I hope blizzard at least watches this and takes this into consideration. Great job!
Much better than expected, positive surprised, would love to see all of them in d2r 3.0! Maybe make knight's vigil also viable for bows and give them teleport charges instead of charge because they cannot use the new shield.
You can also give teleport a different fcr breakpoint to nerf it a little, to incentivize its alternative. It's like how lightining from sorc have a different break point. Although this is messed up speedrunning a lot... but hey d2r is already messing up speedrunning a lot.
Unfortunately they might not be paying what he's worth and on top of it all Coooley would likely be gag ordered to not say half the stuff he says normally lol
I 100% support making a 2-handed axe/mace only runeword with vigor/charge and the damage/stats to support it. This is absolutely needed for werebear/werewolf/barbarian melee gameplay.
Although, Death is mentioned twice in this video as a highly underrated runeword and I agree. My Fury Druid is running a Death in a superior decapitator and absolutely crushes. Not even ethereal but it takes down anything.
@@OGHawkeye it's superb! I traded for an Eth ettin axe this ladder season to make one for my Frenzy Barb, absolute lifesaver and the fact it's indestructible is super convenient too. In terms of value it's up there with the very best.
@bboykenex That’s what i’ve been wishing for sooo long. If shapeshifters cant teleport in wolf/bear form, atleast give us a leap attack. Add leap and replace hunger with a aoe attack ”swipe” and the shapeshifter can clear stuff easier instead of just single hitting everything to death.
i really appreciate the time and consideration you put into these. i love the optional helm with tele. enigma gets old and is over used, often at great sacrifice to a "stronger" option for the sake of convenience. additionally your last item as a 2 hand option could be a lot of fun and give barbarians some of the love they need
I so want to see something like that Knights Vigil runeword implemented, I have always wanted to have a use for those rare eth Glorious Axe drops. Great suggestions!
I found a plain eth glorious axe and im afraid to cube roll it. I wouldnt mjnd 6 or 5. Honestly 4 would make a nice oath too. First eth glorious axe i ever found. And hard to trade for because most people dont sell them
In my opinion D2R needs 3 changes 1. A unique jewel with FCR (e.g. 5-10%) 2. A recipe for the cube with which you can put exactly 2 sockets on all socketable items (weapons, armour, shields, helmets) with all quality levels With this, almost all uniques are upgraded and you have many more opportunities to reach FCR breakpoints 3. Another item with +1 to Teleport
Really would love to see "Mystery," as I've been getting heavily into assassin builds lately. The devs have a lot of opportunities to enhance this game for the better, as these patches are released over time - Making new items and runewords would just further stoke the fire that fuels the fanbase of this immortal classic. Because I have a feeling, even with the eventual release of D4, that our number of players on D2R isn't changin' much.
nice profile pic. fun to see that Taoism is common amongst diablo players, since the lore is very much about Taoism. youre probably right about the number of players, but maybe D4 will be better than we expect.
@@lenvolution Nice, I dig your pic as well. The lore in D2 was what I got into the most as a kid. I got into Taoist kung fu at a younger age and lately have researched a bit into King Solomon's magical systems and supposed writings; which is where the names for a massive amount of video game characters have come from. I love how they can adapt these ancient ideals into such amazing games. And I am hoping so about D4, for those that are really anticipating it. See, I play MTG as well, and people are never happy with it nowadays. Truth is, we got some phenomenal sets in 2022. Some that will go down in history as classics - so I try not and feed too much into the negative hype for a game unless I've had first-hand experience. Coooley has some excellent insights into the production of D4 and it just boils down to the devs listening to the fans and making appropriate changes, if need be. With so much money invested, I'm sure they will, especially if it hindered the projected player-base. A great example is No Man's Sky - that game came out of the gate disabled, and now it's amazing. Each patch has profoundly enhanced the experience, and I foresee the same with D4. We all knew this day was coming, after all. The franchise must try to live on
Allowing indestructible weapons to be eth would be a huge change. Knight's vigil would make me play this game for life. I'm someone who refuses to use enigma and teleport. Putting teleport on helm would be a game changer. I would like to see them buff unique chest armors and or affixes as well. The chest slot in general is underwhelming besides enigma, fort, coh
Exceptional video, Coooley. New ideas and innovative runewords are always exciting. Even adding just a few changes up the game in positive ways. It opens up new options and diversities. It seems like old school D2 guys know the ins and outs of what's truly needed regarding the balancing act of meeting certain breakpoints vs. which items actually allow you to do that. That's the key part of the new runeword discussion. I hope the D2R developers see this video and take notes. I wish they would just get a small group of old school D2 people together and have a brainstorming session about this topic. They would get so much out of it. Put a small taskforce together for x-amount of time to create a list of new items. I'm sure that people like yourself would gladly do it for free, too, due to the love of the game. Great video.
I played classic pre-lod diablo mode over couple of days after work, and it was kinda refreshing fun, because I had to rely on rare, set and unique items I found compared to broken OP runewords. Also, because you don't have jewels and charms, managing resists was helluva lot harder when I got to Hell, and there's less unique items to be found as there are no elite and exceptional versions of unique items, just normal. Oh and no circlets or one-handed staffs, which forces you to play with shieldless sorceress. However I got lucky and got SOJ and that unique blade that gives +50% cast rate (forgot the name), so I was able to run with shield sorceress.
Can you design an item that would make someone want to NOT use a sorceress or paladin as their starting character? I'd love to see your ideas on how to GREATLY increase the prevalence of OTHER classes as your main "farming" character on a super budget.
There is two ways to accomplish this. 1) Make teleport obtained easier and sooner. 2) if we don't like option 1, then put a teleport skill on characters. This skill would not be as fast or efficient as teleport to not hurt the sorc but it would certainly increase mobility.
@@kristopherleslie8343 yeah... Through a crap mayic staff with charges so you lose all your fcr, protection and gold repairing it. Obviously this isn't good enough, people still choose sorc for their starter. How about and item that doesn't use charges and sacrifice all your fcr and protection???
@@PAwader I have had 0 problems with a staff. Works fine for me but I know what i'm looking for and how to play with what I have. I also have circlets and amulets all basically accomplishing same thing. I also have Enigma as well.
Fortune's Favor could actually be instead an extremely beneficial rw to MF and GF while being detrimental to defensive attributes at the same time. The formula you present is kind of already explored, which is also mentioned in the video. Fortune favors the bold!
Another excellent video Coooley! I really hope the devs are noticing your content, you clearly put a lot of thought into your ideas so it would be a shame if they aren't taking notes!! Would you consider putting some thought towards daily/weekly activities the devs could include? I think the game would benefit from additional content on top of meta shakeups! Something like *Click the lobby gem to activate your daily quest: kill Uber Rakanishu, Uber Griswold & Uber Smith to receive random rune ranging from Lum - Mal + random socketed item* Weekly race - *first 5000(??) players to kill 3000(??) Death Lords receive Ohm Rune, late comers receive Ist Rune* or something of that nature. I need more things to do basically!
Weekly might be a little much, but there's certainly other things that could be done (and explored in this format). For example, changing existing Uniques! Problem with that though is creating the equivalent of "08" items and impacting the IG economy. Another tough puzzle...
@@Coooley I'll certainly keep an eye out for a future video in this format! Whether it's quests, activities, races, passive milestones or other additional content, I'd be keen to hear your ideas! They would have to be rewarding though or nobody would bother! Anyways again, great video and I hope the devs implement at least some of these runewords!!
the idea is good, the only problem is d2 aint making them any money at all. we be lucky to get any changes at all and thats the unfortunate fact of the matter. people complain about paying for battle passes and all that type of format but its the only thing these days that makes all that work and updating the game to be viable. whos gonna work on weekly updates and changes for a game that isnt generating any revenue at all for anyone other than d2jsp?
@@OGHawkeye Modders do stuff like PD2 basically for free. This might be a crazy idea, but companies could do it simply because they love their game and the people that work on it also like to play it like old school devs used to. I'm not advocating for this idea, by the way. It's too much like a MMORPG and I don't want Diablo 2 to become that. I'm just saying that claiming devs shouldn't support their game unless you pay for a battlepass is ridiculous and it's hilarious to me that blizzbots actually defend those practices as if they're a shareholder. I see that thrown around in nearly every thread on Reddit.
Personally I hope for more mid-tier runewords that enables the transition to hell diff. Right now, most players just farm NM Baal til lvl 75ish, run past most of the games content, then farm a few specific locations (cows and coubtess for 2x spirit ie.). I like all of these sudgestions, but hope to se Fal-Mal being used as top runes in some new runewords.
Good ideas! Personally, I'd also like some cool experimental build items, like a maul with +skill to ravens wolves and bear, maybe a couple bows giving guided arrow or strife or something
a good 2handed axe runeword would be a dream come true, if something like Knight's Vigil would be in the game i'd probably actually have to come back for next ladder
Nice ideas! Would be cool to see stuff like this implemented into the game. My only critique is some of these seem a bit too much haha but it's not that much. For example the vigor aura on the 2h weapon just seems a bit high, but it does go with the theme of everything. Overall, cool stuff and hope D2R team sees this and makes considerations and/or their own tweaks to them as they also have legit names for the runeword
Man no word of a lie, when i told my homie they should add more runewords, i totally recommended him a corpse explosion amp damage weapon.. Broken Promise would make so many melee builds VIABLE A.F also like that the runes were Lo cham and Sur, lesser used but very rare HRs. man this weapon was literally exactly what i wanted lol. I think new runewords that use rare Hrs that arent sought after like jah and ber is totally a good idea.. currently meta runes are basically jah ber because both infinity and enigma want jah.. deaths wish i think too, faith.. like every top end game runeword wants either jah or ber. or both. I personally have played d2 since im 12, and im 34.. so yeah this meta rinse and repeat is getting hard for me to grind on, would love to see new runewords. Was also suggesting to my homie, make rare mats you can farm that maybe fall off specific monsters in hell, like each monster has this HR quality crafting material, can make some fun ideas with that.. get the rare mats and cube them, specific recipes for specific special events could be bosses or maps or what ever, but make it worth grinding for them so people want them.
All of these sound great! I quit D2R back when they made the FHR changes in PvP. I don't know much about what's going on now but these items would probably make me come back and try it out
I honestly love everything about this. As a ghost player i agree 100% about the helm slot. Just imagine the savagry a ghost could do with a fortitude. Another thing would be the resistances on fort would be super helpful too since they can be tough to achieve. Really good video.
I love these ideas. Madness would definitely live up to it's name with the amount of rerolls you'd end up going through, and new runewords looking to make physical builds more viable are always a good idea. The one (extremely minor) complaint I'd have is the name Knight's Vigil on an twohanded axe, just feels more like a shield runeword name to me. Maybe call it something like Vengeance or Wrath instead?
I like the idea of the Mystery Helm, what I don't like though is the idea of it also being Jah and Ber. I would perfer it being Sur and Zod (no Cham, because CNBF in addition to the rest would be too much), therefore balancing out High Rune pricing instead of pushing the Ber/Jah prices even further up.
Love the ideas. Reminds me of Carbot's "It'd be cool if" series and my own thoughts on making RWs like Brand and Wrath worth using. When you introduced "Broken Promise", an ad started and all I was expecting was a joke about microtransactions and PtW features. Regarding Madness: I've been hunting for a high def +3 skel, +3 Mastery, +x Amp 0/2 soc head for my whole D2 career. Given their slvl 1 bracket, to get those staffmods on a decent defense base, I'm limited to finding low quality (cracked, etc.) drops of already infrequent bloodlord/succubus skulls and doing the chip+el recipe to hopefully roll it. All that for a Splendor that only has a +1 skills over a good Boneflame or DFS. Rolling Madness in that base for +6 total would be so much more worth the lotteries it would take to build it.
I appreciate how this seeks parity between some of the under-used classes and the current meta. Every Sorc is only looking at -Rez now that sunder exists, so the sorc meta would be largely unchanged. Pally and Necro would 100% swap to Mystery but without FCR would likely have to run Vmagi over something like COH if they wanted 125. the two things I would add to change the meta would both be in the Boot slot. Myrmidons Sprocket is an unimplemented Wyrmhide boot that pushed >40 FRW which could be really interesting for martial characters and could be changed to something like Crushing Blow to give us another option other than Gores/toes. the other thing I would like to see is the addition on +10FCR on Silkweaves. There are several build breakpoints that lean hard on the 2/20 and/or Grifs and having a spare 10FCR floating around would increase the build flexibility and allow the use of more underused items/sets; the drawback would be that there is no Rez on the boots so you would still have to chase the 2/20 at endgame. Edit: on the topic of FCR, it might also be interesting to add +10 FCR to the Caster Gloves and allow gloves to roll the +10 FCR suffix. 80% of builds in the game use Magefist/Trangs and it sucks.
2 changes I really REALLY want to see 1) tyreals might gets +1 to teleport (yeah, it'll still be worse than enigma but at least not completely useless) 2) A5 mercs can wield axes as well as swords (I want a damn beast BA on my A5 merc!)
Love these ideas, I think all would be welcome changes. 2 Handed axe specific runeword: love the idea, but I think "Knight's Vigil" (which works great flavorwise with adding charge) would also fit well in a 2 handed sword.
Love the video. finally someone who sees that we need a 2 os runeword for those darn sorc orbs. Been collecting those since the start. Have so many variations already
Broken promise looks amazing! Knights vigil just on general principal would be not only hilarious to use but also be very practical for barbs! And mystery…. Weesnaw lool. Seriously though replacing enigma with a head piece would be amazing and shift the meta imPo. ThNks @Cooley I appreciate you and your time you give all of us making your videos.
Great vid! I'd love to see some of the old favorite uniques like Grandfather and Windforce revamped. Or the possibility of added modifiers to certain low level sets if they were upgraded in the cube. Make Isenhart's Great Hauberk and Isenhart's Ward useable!
Love all of these ideas. Broken promise especially excites me! So many good ideas and issues addressed with that item in a good way. I think this runeword would work well in tandem with a slight grief nerf and buff to base weapon damage. I would actually be excited to build a few different melee characters for once
Those would be nice, melee and physical builds need some love! I’m sick of my barbs being relegated to either horkers or niche builds which can only handle p3 max. Also Why can’t we have rare charms!!!?
I really appreciate how much theory crafting went in to these. It's always annoying when someone makes a new item or runeword they want to see in the game but it's just absolutely busted because they don't care about PVP or are just thinking about their specific play style and what would improve it. Great job with these!
as of right now im not able to play diablo, so i mostly follow it by youtubers content and you are by far the one I like watching the most, your knowledge of the game is insane and it can be seen in each of these runewords. You should make a video tweaking existent RWs to make them more useful, this is, if you still haven''t, i'm not sure.
damn big fucking props man, this was so well done and thought out. Really loved it. I hope they take some of these and implement them! Also as other have mentioned I hope they rework some of the old uniques that never get used, there are so many actually good ones that are just not good enough compared to RW's
I would like to see low level light versions of these and other high level runewords implemented too. Like versions that give a fraction of the effects but flavored similarly. It could shake up LLD and also add to the fairly formulaic process of leveling a new character. (which right now is laser focused on getting and using Spirit and then double spirit for so many classes). Anything that'll unseat Spirit as the defacto awesome thing to focus on with any ladder start as well as unseat Lore too - or at least add some diversity and greater options. The start of ladder is fun. It can be more fun.
Knight's Vigil is crazy cool. Broken Promise would help a lot with melee builds struggling to clear as effectively in PVM as any spellcaster build. I would also change some uniques that are totally underutilized and try to give them interesting stats. IE some sheilds so that there can be a competitor to spirit.
Sounds good I think. What I would wish for is a way to make the Skills that proc on your attack do more damage. I would like to focus a character around that but in the end right now I end up doing the most DMG with well my weapon and the skills that fly around don't do a significant amound of DMG..
What do you think of adding some special bonuses to Barb weapon masteries? For example: Sword mastery could give Barbs the chance to weapon block/parry when using 2 handers. Axe mastery could give chance of bleed. Polearm/spear mastery could give critical strike bonus. Etc…
Good timing! I was just thinking to myself earlier today what kind of rune words could/should be added. What I came up with is that there aren’t enough lvl 1-25 words or 25-50? as well. Seems like there are a few low level words and then you hit lvl 40 for the rest.
Yeah you really had my attention in this one. Amazing video coooley and love the subject. I'm just glad D2 get so much attention but I feel like the holidays event was a missed opportunity to test new things out. Dunno, but the devs seems really out of touch so one can only hope they implement changes like these to expand on the longevity of the game.
I remember someone once theory-crafted a spear runeword called Penance. It was a bit like BOTD but with Burst of Speed on striking and other useful mods. Would love to see that happen!
Posted this on the forums last ladder: 2 socket helmets, Ral + Amn Fire Resist +30% (Ral) Attacker Takes Damage of 14 (Amn) Cannot be Frozen +6 to Attack rating (Based on Character level) 10% Chance of Crushing Blow +15-30 Defense (varies) My design for this helmet is to help out early game physical characters while going to Hell difficulty while not giving it too much power.
Great video, Coooley! Cool choices and great explanations. All these would add a new level of interest in D2R. Here's hoping the dev team is watching and taking notes!
Enigma helmet seems like a good idea. Charge + teleport charges seems also like an interesting alternative to enigma. You charge to move for the most part and use teleport charges to go over walls. If you think teleport is still a lot faster, you can buff the speed of charge and make it to only collide if your mouse tagged the enemy (ie if you just keep hold mouse on ground, you will not charge into an enemy). I think the fix for enigma comes from charms. Maybe something like Annihilus, cube with the Standard of Heroes from Uber Trist, 1 of each Essence used to make the Token of Absolution. As the 7th and final component because of how text files worked, maybe a Unique Jewel, a Seraph's Hymn, or a Stone of Jordan. Alternatively as a 7th component, you could do something silly like requiring 3x Hellfire Torch I guess? I personally don't like using SoJs as the component seeing the many uses it already has. A Unique Jewel would be the easy way out and the Seraph's Hymn would be lore for getting an angels aid. Lastly, the 3 Hellfire Torch would perfectly fill the cube's 12 slots and you could say the torches melt and the flames of hell corrupt the Annihilus, granting it the ability to move through planes (D&D Planeshift is a form of teleportation) and the player's bloodline is too thin so you only get Teleport. Furthermore, this could use the built in function to limit it to +1 or players could be allowed to repeat the process and raise teleport as high as they want. This would also give a new use for Hellfire Torches and Essences and a 1st use for the Standard of Heroes. !Important! If this is put into the game, Uber Trist should only drop 1 Standard of Heroes and possibly as a replacement to the Hellfire Torch at a rate of 95% Torch 5% Standard of Heroes.
pretty cool and well thought out ideas, even though I think some are too strong, especially the last one seems a bit overkill with giving you almost every stat in the book. Id cut some stats like defense and strength per level to make it slightly weaker while not changing the strong aspects.
Nice changes! The speed (teleport, charge, FRW) is this game is essencial, we have to use enigma or play sorc, we need alternatives. I love your ideas (i like the shield! I hate to only use spirit on melee). I hope they give +1 to teleport as full bonus to class set (maybe they will have some use).
We have uniques that give +50fcr. Maybe a high str requirement weapon runeword that gives negative res but +xx frw for a swap weapon on playthrough. Reduces need for o skill tp amu/staff.
Lol the +1 to charge was the first thing i noticed and cracked up when seeing that. I love the thought process on these and the potential for pvm and pvp. Honestly i would love to see some sort oft splash added to melee which is what that broken promise adds. Also they need to do some quality of life changes with rune stacking and gem stacking. Maybe a stash tab with specific slots only for runes and gems. Love the videos coooley, you are the voice of many of us avid d2 players. Btw that title was super click bait homie😂
One thing I have always wanted to see and have hoped for was Mercs getting their own unique runeword weps and armors, but it comes at a cost. The better the Merc only runeword.....The more difficult the PVM and bosses would be while increasing monster spawn but the drop rate would be entirely left at the same drop rate as it is. This could make the constant grind alot more challenging, as well as makeing PVP challenging because you could have potentially two super buffed foes to deal with. This could help bring alot if love to some of the mercs that do not see much game play aka A3
Amazing ideias, Cooley. We truly need some diversity for grief and specially enigma, it's time for us to use other endgame armor after 20 years. The 2-handed weapons also need much more love, so I liked the concept of the runeword, but devs should strongly consider empower the unique items to put them into contention and improve the diversity of the gameplay
cool ideas, I been thinking about something like that Mystery RW my self but I would make it like Zod Jah Lo, so u get %life +5max light res, and I would give the item some crazy stat AND lvl requirement reduction, so its like -80% lvl and stat requirements, So u can make it in like a eth Corona or bone visage etc and it would be super low req lvl so u could get the teleport ability really early for new chars/LLD.
I'd like a budget enigma. Kind of like stone is a budget fortitude, i'd like a budget enigma. You could even put negative stats on it. For example, every time you teleport, you lose 2 to all res and it compounds every time you teleport up to -100 res. This will help with those barbs that want to tele to baal really fast. You CAN tele but will you survive it? Give it a 15 second reboot. That way it'll ease the need for Jah's so the prices will come down a little bit for them. You could make the runes needed be mildly expensive but not something that breaks the bank. Ohm Vex Gul and Ist or something.
I think it would be cool to see a sunder style runeword. I've though of a shield with 3os so we don't have to keep using monarchs. Can roll 1-3 of a certain skill (psn, fire, light) it can roll with 20-40 fcr, maybe roll with some stats, dexterity would be cool to go towards max block.. last but not least it should roll with -50 through -75 of whichever element you're rolling. Make it where it requires 3 high runes. I think the -res is a good thing. Changes up the inventory, changes jewelery, changes what you socket items with, ect ect. Also it would be nice to see some new prefix/suffix on jewels. Maybe -res, fcr jewels would be cool, bump up the 7 fhr to 15 aswell... these are just some of my ideas, I got several more lol. For sure another piece of equipment with teleport would be cool like you said. Atleast another armor to choose from. Could be like nigma but instead of str it could ass resistance maybe
Charge/vigor for melee centric items is awesome. I would argue that it should just be two handed, drop the axe bit. Charge fits zon, and druid with t-maul, and a2 merc for extra vigor to player
I don’t want to give up the +2 to all skills on the helm for my endgame helm. I really wish they would allow plague to be made in the helm. Delirium is good for a mercenary but it’s practically unusable.
I’d still like them to to add the potential affix rolls on items like it is featured in PD2… maybe even open up static items with more roll variety to make chasing items more fun. Perhaps that could open uniques to be sought after more as well ?
DBrunski125 reviewed this video and you can find it here! Interesting banter! What do you think?

I liked his review had valid points on a few things for sure.
For the helmet enigma replacer imagine this
Use sur-tir-cham - give it 1 to skills/level 12-17 meditation aura/MANA after kill/teleport charges or skill/ increased MANA like 10%/cannot be frozen/and maybe 15%Fcr or 30%fhr or 15% all res.
Strongly agree on this. Especially for those extremely rare but useless items like TM and Mang's Song etc.
@@umutyasar2784 Yes, it always seemed so wrong that such rare items were so underwhelming. agreed!
Lowering unique requirements to super low levels. So they can be used till you farm runewords
Yeah some (especially Elite uniques) need a "centerpiece" stat like an oSkill.

If you think teleport is still a lot faster, you can buff the speed of charge (by giving the speed a multiplier from increased movement speed mod) and make it to only collide if your mouse tagged the enemy (ie if you just keep hold mouse on ground, you will not charge into an enemy).
You can also give teleport a different fcr breakpoint to nerf it a little, to incentivize its alternative. It's like how lightining from sorc have a different break point. Although this is messed up speedrunning a lot... but hey d2r is already messing up speedrunning a lot.
Dude these are awesome, I love the effort put into making melee builds more fun and diverse. Man they need to hire you on the D2R team!
Was about to write the same thing haha
Unfortunately they might not be paying what he's worth and on top of it all Coooley would likely be gag ordered to not say half the stuff he says normally lol
I 100% support making a 2-handed axe/mace only runeword with vigor/charge and the damage/stats to support it. This is absolutely needed for werebear/werewolf/barbarian melee gameplay.
Wolf has been my main for years. A change like this would make me so incredibly happy.
Give it like 5-10% splash damage with 5 yard radius and then it would be perfect.
Although, Death is mentioned twice in this video as a highly underrated runeword and I agree. My Fury Druid is running a Death in a superior decapitator and absolutely crushes. Not even ethereal but it takes down anything.
@@greggen63 death really is underrated. everytime i have ever used it, its the only thing that rivals grief
@@OGHawkeye it's superb! I traded for an Eth ettin axe this ladder season to make one for my Frenzy Barb, absolute lifesaver and the fact it's indestructible is super convenient too. In terms of value it's up there with the very best.
I love that Broken Promise idea, melee characters need the most attention for me going forward. Would love a fury druid with AOE corpse explosion!
These would be dope! A charging barb and teleport helm. Let’s go!
Leap and Charge as O-skills are both great ideas, but that would be a lot of new coding and animation for the devs...sadly I don't see it happening.
@bboykenex Yes. I might have thrown a couple of other stuff aswell. Needed to ventilate i guess 😂
i really appreciate the time and consideration you put into these. i love the optional helm with tele. enigma gets old and is over used, often at great sacrifice to a "stronger" option for the sake of convenience. additionally your last item as a 2 hand option could be a lot of fun and give barbarians some of the love they need
I so want to see something like that Knights Vigil runeword implemented, I have always wanted to have a use for those rare eth Glorious Axe drops. Great suggestions!
I just built a very expensive barb around an edeath glorious axe,the 5 os eth glorious axe I've been hoping to drop for yearszzzz
@@whitekony1006 Gotta love that Glorious Axe model in D2R!
I found a plain eth glorious axe and im afraid to cube roll it. I wouldnt mjnd 6 or 5. Honestly 4 would make a nice oath too.
First eth glorious axe i ever found. And hard to trade for because most people dont sell them
@@jprec5174 yeah dude,I'm not above going to jsp for chase items when I'm bone tired and nobody EVER has that eth glorious axe
@@whitekony1006 i cubed it.
Got 6. Still will make a nice ebotd
In my opinion D2R needs 3 changes
1. A unique jewel with FCR (e.g. 5-10%)
2. A recipe for the cube with which you can put exactly 2 sockets on all socketable items (weapons, armour, shields, helmets) with all quality levels
With this, almost all uniques are upgraded and you have many more opportunities to reach FCR breakpoints
@@PAwader teleport is easy to obtain
@@kristopherleslie8343 yeah... Through a crap mayic staff with charges so you lose all your fcr, protection and gold repairing it. Obviously this isn't good enough, people still choose sorc for their starter. How about and item that doesn't use charges and sacrifice all your fcr and protection???
@@PAwader I have had 0 problems with a staff. Works fine for me but I know what i'm looking for and how to play with what I have. I also have circlets and amulets all basically accomplishing same thing. I also have Enigma as well.
@@kristopherleslie8343 you're a true chad
This sounds like a db idea, lmfao
the idea is good, the only problem is d2 aint making them any money at all. we be lucky to get any changes at all and thats the unfortunate fact of the matter. people complain about paying for battle passes and all that type of format but its the only thing these days that makes all that work and updating the game to be viable. whos gonna work on weekly updates and changes for a game that isnt generating any revenue at all for anyone other than d2jsp?
Charge is not added to Runeword skills, as it would require a whole new animation for each other class:)
Hard Core solo masochism is my game, so I'm fully on board with experimentation!
I want a +1 to charging skill armor. Gives people option rather than just enigma.
More bows with GA? Sign me up!
"Broken promises" looks funny, would make damage shield viable.
a good 2handed axe runeword would be a dream come true, if something like Knight's Vigil would be in the game i'd probably actually have to come back for next ladder
TOP TIER D2 CONTENT HERE!
Congrats, mate! You have the most interesting d2r content in YT period. Thank you!
Very good Job cooley ☺️👌🏻 would love to see that shield one day 😊🙏🏻
All of these sound great! I quit D2R back when they made the FHR changes in PvP. I don't know much about what's going on now but these items would probably make me come back and try it out
Awesome thoughts. Would love to see unique boots giving FRW and Leap or Charge oskills, could potentially open up choice outside of Enigma then...
I picked Knight's Vigil for the charge/vigor along with the fact that it would have the highest ED of any weapon (inspired by the "Knight's" mod)
I think that anything for the end game is good. Some great ideas yall came up with.
Very very cool suggestions! Also agreed with other comments on upgrading less utilized uniques.
HELL YEAH! NEW COOOLEY VID!
Edit: What do i think? I think we should implement them alll for season 3 and find out!
"Buckle up softies, cause it's about to get real"
Love this man
I really like all of these.
Broken Promise could be effective and fun on almost any character, but that is insane as a melee pvm buff.
2 changes I really REALLY want to see
1) tyreals might gets +1 to teleport (yeah, it'll still be worse than enigma but at least not completely useless)
2) A5 mercs can wield axes as well as swords (I want a damn beast BA on my A5 merc!)
Yeah, tyreals might needs a buff so badly, for an item that rare.
Use mystery and wear tyrael 😊
Cool, I also mentioned a teleportation helmet before the last ladder start! Good to see we agree =)
You killed it with this one! Great video, love these runewords.
Very will thought out, very creative. Love it; Thanks, Cooley!
damn big fucking props man, this was so well done and thought out.
Barb lookin like he's ice skating through Harrogath
broken promise needs to happen. melee desperately needs this.
Nice, hope someone from Blizz see this 👹🔥
Knight's Vigil is crazy cool.
Great ideas man. Been watching your videos for a while now. This one just got me to sub.
Brilliant work Coooley! Keep up the great content!
I remember someone once theory-crafted a spear runeword called Penance. It was a bit like BOTD but with Burst of Speed on striking and other useful mods. Would love to see that happen!
I’ve got one. The jackhammer, barbarian only - Allows him to pull out his snake and bareback other chars, infect them wit HIV, dealing poison damage.
One of my fav d2 vids ever Cooley. Hopefully the devs are paying attention
Posted this on the forums last ladder:
2 socket helmets, Ral + Amn
Fire Resist +30% (Ral)
Attacker Takes Damage of 14 (Amn)
Cannot be Frozen
+6 to Attack rating (Based on Character level)
10% Chance of Crushing Blow
+15-30 Defense (varies)
My design for this helmet is to help out early game physical characters while going to Hell difficulty while not giving it too much power.
"D2R ramping up toward a PTR for the 2.6 update next week. Big focus is on new runewords. " You did it!!! :D Wp!
Those last two get me really excited for melee character buffs. Love playing the fury Druid and these would be great
Love all the ideas. This would be exciting to see. Fingers crossed they at least have something good coming for season 3.

Loving the ideas here especially mystery and broken promise seem awesome
pretty cool and well thought out ideas, even though I think some are too strong, especially the last one seems a bit overkill with giving you almost every stat in the book.
Knights Vigil and Mystery is a very nice idea! Those will make new builds for barb fo sho
We have uniques that give +50fcr. Maybe a high str requirement weapon runeword that gives negative res but +xx frw for a swap weapon on playthrough. Reduces need for o skill tp amu/staff.
Love the madness item. Fuckin amazing idea! Mystery is a great addition as well. Another banger video Coooley!
Blizz, Make Coooley runewords now
Lol the +1 to charge was the first thing i noticed and cracked up when seeing that.
Great ideas, great video. Well done, mate!
This could help bring alot if love to some of the mercs that do not see much game play aka A3
Love the video! I think sockets in jewelry would be great!
i had the same, 3hr helm 1 tele idea, great video!
I'm all for this! Broken promise looks like it'll be nasty with that CE if paired with a brand mercenary...
cool ideas, I been thinking about something like that Mystery RW my self but I would make it like Zod Jah Lo, so u get %life +5max light res, and I would give the item some crazy stat AND lvl requirement reduction, so its like -80% lvl and stat requirements, So u can make it in like a eth Corona or bone visage etc and it would be super low req lvl so u could get the teleport ability really early for new chars/LLD.
Also make having "high defense" an actual benefit outside of a flex of rolling a perfect item.
Absolute fire. Great suggestions.
Now all we have to do is hold our breath...
Delirium is good for a mercenary but it’s practically unusable.
great vid man keep um coming!!! Question will sunder charms become non ladder after?
Great vid thanks Cooley
I’d still like them to to add the potential affix rolls on items like it is featured in PD2… maybe even open up static items with more roll variety to make chasing items more fun. Perhaps that could open uniques to be sought after more as well ?
Was skeptical of your opinions at the start of the video, ended up agreeing with all of it by the end.
I'd like to see some unique or set items that have the indestructible mod also have a chance to roll ethereal, like ik maul, grandfather, sazabi...
