I'd give anything to have a conversation like this with my Mom...just to tell her one last time that I loved her. She passed away 7 years ago and even though I was in my 40s, she still called to check up on me and see how things were going. Like Holman (Steve MsQueen's character in The Sand Pebbles) said of his mom: "She was a good dame".
I watched Prairie Home Companion on the radio and loved it. Stopped turning it on when it changed to Live From Here. No longer interesting. Not funny. Not intellectual. Just some guy's interest in himself. Not good music. Just boring. Sad that we lost this good show... PHC. Almost didn't watch because it says Live From Here.
Love this Mom section....Sue Scott is so good at this...
After Mom's diatribe- long pause then he asks "What's up Mom?" Priceless

What a fine segment of this show... such humor. Of course, I grew up not too far from Lake Wobegon, so it isn't surprising I'd enjoy this show...
