I actually was successful in doing a variation of this with my son and his two friends in early elementary school. I told them VERY seriously that I would let them play on the playground for a while afterschool, but that they needed to come off the field when I called them. I said, “Boys who cooperate get to come back!” The boys needed to cooperate with me to earn the right to play on the playground the next time. The crossing guard lady said she’d never seen anything like it. I’d just call their names and they’d tear off the field (5-7 yr olds). Kids want to be good. They’re great young adults now!
I used a treat to train my ducks/geese. I say "nighty night" and in the kennel I give a bedtime snack. They get so excited now when I say "nighty night".
@@GoldShawFarm first, I have fewer ducks then you. But often they beat me to the pen. I get food from the cabin where I store animal food. They come running to meet me and then hurry, often ahead of me, to the pen.
I am in Western Australia, My ducks Geese and Hens are told it's Nite Nite time so off to bed..YES 97% of them will go to their individual beds or pens on command, BUT! there are a few HENS and Roosters who want to play silly Buggars, Ducks are very Compliant as are Geese..People often Laugh when I tell them how they sent to their pens and individual cages..I even thought I was the Only Silly Person to do it, Glad I am a Part of a group.
Lol, when you said “release the quakers”. Your ducks emerged from their house looking a lot like American tourists disembarking from a tour. Everyone’s off the tour bus but, everyone is looking in 14 different directions. Too funny.
Feed them twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. When you feed them in the evening put the food in the house. Soon you'll find the ducks waiting at the door for you. They'll know it's bedtime before you do ;)
Took me about a week to train my ducks to go in at night. I had to make a funnel system for the entrance. I have 4 ducks right now, soon I'll have 6 more to add to the pack.
I've been having Such a good laugh at your duck training adventure! But Seriously think you have it in you to make this all work. Love for the job, determination to learn, and most importantly, the ability to laugh at life and yourself. Not taking ourselves too seriously makes life lessons a lot more Instructive than Destructive ...
Ducks are my favorite critter on my farm. I feel I spoil them way too much. I built them a Quack Shack, they have a pond and streams to dabble in, and are able to safely free range around my homestead. I love your attempted method of training your ducks. All I do is feed them in their Quack Shack in the morning and in the evening. Of course in the evening they all flock to the Quack Shack for dinner and I just close the door. But, I love your method better. CLASSIC. Love it. Best of luck on your channel growth. I just subbed as well. Jerry of Pine Meadows Hobby Farm (A modern homestead)
0:59 Release The Quacken!🤣😂 When will you do a compilation of you just & only saying "Release The Quacken!" because I love that quote. I release the Quacken every morning sometimes. My mom releases the Quacken most days. have the same blue sign you have. This is how many times Gold Shaw farm had said, "All Ducks Go To Bed!" ⬇️
Thank you Jess Soward @ Roots and Refuge for shouting out GOLD SHAW FARM! Also great T shirts! I just watched this in its entirety and I have to say, this was a well produced video directed by the ducks. Looking forward to more farm life entertainment. Now I wanna raise ducks!
I started seeing your videos on Facebook and then found you here. I gotta say, I'm not sure why, but watching these videos is relaxing. I want to make perfectly clear that I am not saying boring, I just feel a sense of calm.
I haven't read all your comments....but.... I think your ramps is scary as they slip on it. lower ramp and make it non-slippery... maybe asphalt shingles... ?? I reward my ducks by having a little corn waiting for them when they get in the pen. I call them up from the pond. Walk out to pen with corn and call them. Throw corn, walk away... come back 10 min or so later and lock them in. I do have a particular "corn call". I will usually call them up from the pond with the "corn call" and give them a little corn about mid day. By evening, they are thankful for more corn.
I used watch this guy on Facebook. Then for long time Facebook feed stopped recommending his video n I was busy at my ielts preparation forgot his Channel name. I tried to find him on Facebook but failed because of my bad memory. Now I searched all duck go to home find him again. Btw it is all duck go to bed.
I subscribed because I'm starting to really reach out to other Farmer/Homesteader UA-cam Channels :-) I hit the notification bell for "Release the Kraken!" I do that with the meat birds! Lol :-)
Tim from Canada looks like you need to fix your housing problem before you start rounding up your ducks maybe work on the duck house first then your duck call
This made my day
Seeing how successful you were with the ducks, I tried it with my kids "All kids go to bed" but it didn't work.....
ha ha haha

And it isn't rocket science. I used to rattle a galvanised bucket.
I absolutely love this. It makes me smile, even at 3:45 a.m. Thanks for the video. 😸
RELEASE THE QUACKENS omg I'm pregnant and that's so cute it just made me cry
I’m pregnant and it made me cry too 😂🤣❤️🍼🦑🦆
Im not pregnant
Consistency is a very big key to many, many things.
Truth!
Took me about a week to train my ducks to go in at night. I had to make a funnel system for the entrance. I have 4 ducks right now, soon I'll have 6 more to add to the pack.
I'm still laughing my head off. What a great video!😁

So cool. I had no idea ducks were trainable like this.
This was so much fun. Loved the music too
Oh my gosh this was so stinking cute, nice to see this.
It was like a balm to my soul.
And your music choice was great!!😂🤣😃
Thank you! Glad we brightened your day.

Thank you! I really appreciate the support!
Good to see you helping out your neighbor, looking forward to watching your channel.
"Herding ducks" may have just replaced "herding cats" in my idiom bank.
You should make tours and open your farm to visitors (kids specially)
Should have built a little duck door next to the door into the pen.

So so glad you gave Jack credit for that. Always wondered if you would one day
Great video

I'm glad you enjoyed this. If you like duck videos, you have definitely come to the right place!
Enjoyed duck progress!
Thanks, Theresa!
Well that is a great idea looking forward to saying y'all continue and define progress, thanks for sharing and have a great and blessed day :-)
You have patience! My neighborhood it is Little Shanghai. We have the best Chinese roast duck here ever. Could you maybe change my mind?
I started seeing your videos on Facebook and then found you here. I gotta say, I'm not sure why, but watching these videos is relaxing. I want to make perfectly clear that I am not saying boring, I just feel a sense of calm.
Also giggled pretty hard hearing release the quackens
I’m not sure who is being trained in this video....
Hi...... Morgan, thank you for sharing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🎥👍👍👍
Jack is awesome. I'm doing his stuff too!
So when you take over the world with your duck army, will the homesteaders be safe? Asking for a friend...🤣
Ha...not sure yet. I’m still stuck on the “build a duck army” part.
You can do it. We believe in you! You can do the thing!
The Duck Commander !! You need the proper duck 🦆 calls.
That’s all. Contact Duck Dynasty
We do something similar with our hens.
Consistency & patience.
We will be training our duck this way!! Thanks
ha ha love it . a duck man after my own heart lol xx
Were do the ducks/swan's, that swim on the lake go at night?
Great job, way to be persistent!
We watched this in class, because we always watch random videos in science that have nothing to do with what we are learning.
That’s the best thing I’ve heard all day!
Awesome video. I really enjoyed your video and watching you train the Ducks to go to bed. I heard about your channel from White house on the hill.
I'm glad you dropped by! Jake and Becky are such awesome and helpful people.

I say ducks in barn and clap my hands and they all come running to the barn
So this is when release the quacken was established, love it

Why do I always laugh when he say's," Release the quackens"
I had no idea ducks can be trained. Wow!
Too fix ur ramp put a few horizontal pieces of wood on it for grip
I subscribed because I'm starting to really reach out to other Farmer/Homesteader UA-cam Channels :-) I hit the notification bell for "Release the Kraken!" I do that with the meat birds! Lol :-)
Ha! Glad to hear from you. I'll be sure to check out your videos. Where are you based?
@@GoldShawFarm We're up in central Maine 😊 where 38° feels nice in January ❄
Hahahaha.... thanks fr the laughs!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I"ve always said, Theres always 1 chicken!!!
I have been waiting for this one!
Enten sind toll!
🦆💞🤸😘
How do you get them to let you handle them? We've been trying with our little peking ducks but they fight us every time we do
You have to do it early and often. Lots of time in the first four weeks. Even then, generally speaking ducks don’t like to be picked up.
I only have 4 ducks. I started with 2 raising them from ducklings. This only took 3 days until they responded.
What species duck? Are they all female? Thanks
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 Love it! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
How long did it take to build the duck ramp?
About 30 seconds.
Good job
You've come so far Morgan :)
amazing :D
Guys, these things can FLY. Do you understand how good they have it when they dont fly away?
How do you get your geese to come in at night?
Well ...is it still working?
Yup. It's gotten easier and easier. They will even put themselves to bed before I tell them to these days.
This is hilarious🤣🤣
I want to train my ducks to do this but they already go in as soon as it gets dark
Out a bath tub mat on the ramp
Whoops there goes another rubber tree.
😱 All good but you forgot fencing techniques
hilarious
I've kept my ducks in a Suskovich tractor. I love the "fake fence". 😏 Is that like fake news & fake elections...?
Hi new sub over from two family homestead to support your channel new friend
Thanks for dropping by, John. I really appreciate it.
👍👍👍👍👍
Tim from Canada looks like you need to fix your housing problem before you start rounding up your ducks maybe work on the duck house first then your duck call
But this is something you will have to do with every new batch of ducks unless you keep back some ducks for breading
😂😃😃!
Why not just leave the door open so they can come and go as they please?
You're walking too fast and too close
Awesome keep making video, actually i love duck meat hehe
Thank you! And some of those ducks were quite tasty.
@@GoldShawFarm omfg you eat these beautiful ducks!!! I thought it was a duck rescue!!! Why would you eat gods beautiful animals????
You're CRUEL!
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮me too thought was a rescue
phhhhhhhhhhhhh hah!!!
